I had the pleasure of test driving one of these bad boys and I was extremely impressed. The owner, Simone, is a total whiz on all things engineering, mechanical, and electrical. He designs and builds all of these bikes himself and is very passionate about their craftsmanship.
I rode the baseline model up a very long and steep hill and the bike performed marvelously, it was like I barely had to do any work. However you are able to control how much work the electric motor actually does, so if you feel like getting a workout that option is easily available to you. It feels just like riding a bike, but with an adjustable level of super strength. Many of the features are also customizable.
I would highly recommend one of these bikes for anyone who is looking to make their commute easier, ditch their car, or just wants to be able to ride with the option of getting some electrically powered assistance. Thank you Simone!

I absolutely love my e-​bike from Leonardo Cycles! They are beautiful, well-​built bikes and are a pleasure to ride.
They offer a few different bike lines. However, any bike can be completely customized — from frame type to color to components. I was delighted not only by the level of craftsmanship that went into the bike but also by the quality of the components used.
I prefer riding a bike for my daily commute and running errand. I recently moved to a very hilly neighborhood in Berkeley and found that my standard bike was impractical for every day use. I was typically using my car more than my bike. My e-​bike from Leonard Cycles completely changes this! I now take my bike for almost every trip, not just for recreation.
My favorite aspect of Leonardo Cycle’s e-​bikes is it still feels similar to riding a standard bike — the difference being that adjusting the power assist level corresponds to shifting the front gears. However, when «shifting» with the power assist while going up a hill, the speed isn’t reduced. The bikes are geared perfectly for the area and aren’t heavy of bulky. Often on flat roads, I turn off the assist entirely. I tried a few other brands of e-​bikes and found them all too bulky; they felt more like a scooter than a bike.
Simone, the owner, is also very friendly and helpful. He’s very knowledgeable and was genuinely concerned that I rode away on a bike that I loved. He had multiple test bikes that I tried before deciding. He helped me select a bike configuration that was perfect for me, and put no pressure on me to buy if I wasn’t entirely convinced.
