Established in 2003.

Helpuplumb started as a class taught by my Dad (who was also a plumbing contractor) for the DIY homeowner, at the Education Center in Berkely, CA. I started out as Dads assistant at age 13, 25 yrs ago!

When I started to learn the trade under my Dads watchful eye, I remember digging alot– As I got older I began learning alot of other valuable plumbing skills. At age of 18 to further my skill I started plumbing in the local Plumbers Union. For the next 10 yrs I received the proper training required and the on the job experience to further my career. Now Equipped with the knowledge and confidence of a Journeyman level Plumber. I am not only skilled in servicing Older Homes and Buildings, I am also experienced in New construction,

as well as Service and Repairs.

Anthony is the absolute best and we trust him with the plumbing in our home! We bought an older house and have inherited all the problems that came with it. He came in and helped us figure out what had to be handled immediately and what can be held off a little bit. He is so honest and his experience in doing this work has helped us be able to live in our home and work on a plan so we can get it updated within the next year.
His level of service and expertise also saved us when we had a minor emergency with a snapped pipe from a mistake made by another contractor and we are grateful. Anthony is the best we have come across in our new home adventure and we are really happy to have him work on our house.

We called Anthony due to our shower/​kitchen faucet water only at half pressure with rusty looking water coming out of our pipes in a 1930’s house in the Oakland hills. He explained before he started all of the possibilities for this issue. He tried the easiest and more cost effective route first. We later realized we actually did need new pipes as the issues reoccurred. We knew who to call for this job and have had great water pressure and better water quality since and at a fair price. Thank you Helpuplumb, consider yourself highly recommend!

Anthony is my new go-​to guy! I called him late in the day about a problem in our commercial building in Fairfield, and was pleasantly surprised when he was able to get out here to help us the very next business day at 9am! Anthony was professional, knowledgeable, HONEST, fair, and communicated very clearly about pricing. He went out of his way to help me to understand the scope of our issue, and even gave me an idea of red flags to help identify potential issues in the future. I manage the maintenance of 2 large warehouses, and will now make sure Anthony is my first call any time we need a plumber.

this guy is the real deal. Our bathroom was recently remodeled when I noticed a leak coming from around the toilet. We couldn’t get ahold of our contractor Jose, so we called Helpuplumb since we needed plumbing help. Anthony was upfront explaining there would be a 1 hr min charge that would be applied to the total if there was a more serious problem than an easy repair. So figuring it would be a simple fix since we just had our bathroom remodeled we made the appointment. Anthony pulled up the toilet to check things out and he found that the contractor just tiled over a rotten old sub floor and the new toilet was leaking for at least 3 months under the layers of floor and tile to now create a bigger problem. The wood under the toilet, (what wood) was gone and had no way to secure the toilet permanent to the floor which explains why it was moving the whole time!
After basically redoing the plumbing under the floor for the toilet he found many other shotty poor fixes and at that point we realized we were in trouble. We just spent 10K on the bathroom and basically we were going to have to start over since there was no space under the house to crawl meant the new floor had to come up to fix the rotten pipes that were just left that way to leak another day.
I guess saving money by not getting a permit was a bad idea which was suggested by our contractor!
Come to find out He just said he was a contractor, after looking for Jose on the CSLB website we realized he wasn’t licensed to begin with. I wish we took our time and did our research before we got into this mess. Even thought Anthony’s job was not a simple fix I’m glad we got the right professional to complete the job he had permits and got the job inspected and gave us a one year warranty when it was all over we have not had a problem since its been a couple years now thanks Anthony.

Anthony Is the best. He was referred to us for help installing a tankless water heater. There is so much involved and he is knowledgeable, reliable and professional. There were a few bumps in the road (old house!) but Anthony handled it all and worked into the evening because he refused to leave us without hot water for even a day. I had the best, endless (I know, we’re in a drought, but just this once!) hot shower this morning. THANKS ANTHONY!!! Will definitely hire him again!!!

Anthony was great! I called him after my Realtor recommended his company. I just bought an older home (1942) in Vallejo and the tub and sink backed up when the washing machine drained. Anthony came in and tested the drains and snaked the line to get it taken care of. He got the work done well within the time he estimated and his prices are reasonable.
I liked Anthony’s knowledge and communication — he doesn’t sound condescending when explaining what is wrong. I can’t wait to call him for the remodel!

I recently needed a dryer gas line ran, Anthony came out professionally assessed my home, explained exactly what he would need to do as well as what was needed to get the job done. He then set a time and date, arrived and got the job done fast efficient. His nephew works with him both were very professional respectful of me and my home home. Help U Plumb did a fantastic job installing a gas line to our kitchen. Anthony was reliable during the process, and would come after hours sometimes to ensure things got taken care of throughout the job. He came highly recommended from other Benicia residents as having fair prices and quality work… We are now another family recommending his company.

Called on a Saturday afternoon, during business hours posted on Unilocal («Mon-​Sat 8 am — 6 pm»). Call was not returned either that day or the next, despite other reviews which state that he was available on Sundays as well.
It’s now Monday, without a callback, and we need to find someone else.
UPDATE: Monday morning (not long after posting the review above), I did receive a call back from Anthony, and for that reason alone, I added two stars. Additionally, Anthony responded to this review, by appending his own comments, saying that his company is not a «24 hour Emergency service company» and that he «take[s] time for [his] family and cant save the day all the time. We have Work hours that are Stated Clearly.»
Let me start by saying I totally support the right of hard-​working people to take time to be with their families. The problem I have with my experience, is NOT that he took well-​deserved time off!
Rather, the issue arises because I did call during the «Work hours that are Stated Clearly»: As of last Saturday, his Unilocal page said his hours were «Mon-​Sat 8 am — 6 pm» (cut and pasted from the Unilocal page itself). I noted those hours when I called his service on Saturday, well before his posted Saturday closing time (If memory serves, I rang around 3pm). Had he called back, and said he was booked, or closing early (or had his voicemail greeting said these things in contradiction of Unilocal-​posted hours), I would have totally understood. Likewise, had the posted hours said «Closed Saturday and Sunday» I would have also understood.
But I called during the posted hours, got no call back until Monday, and then (instead of regretting what appears to be a confusion due to incorrectly-​posted working hours) I was told he was not a 24-​hour service.
I notice that Anthony has just changed his posted working hours on Unilocal (they now read that he closes at 5pm on Saturdays — but even by these shorter Saturday hours, I did call before closing that Saturday). I respectfully suggest that Anthony modify the posted hours to read «Saturday, by appointment only» which would give him the flexibility to answer calls if he wished on weekends, or not answer them if he wants to set the time aside for his family.
This clearly was an unfortunate misunderstanding, and hopefully a change to posted hours on Unilocal will prevent it from recurring in the future.

I called Anthony based on the Unilocal reviews, one being from a friends I know.
We had the unfortunate circumstance of needing an emergency plumber at around 8:45PM tonight after we started to see water backing up into our tub after someone flushed the toilet. Nasty. I knew it was more than just a basic auger job that we could do ourselves based on the circumstances.
I called two previous plumbers that did work on our home before. I reached a voice mail from one and got a hold of dispatch on the other whose technician never called me back (and still hasn’t called me back.. . 4 hours later). I got a hold of Anthony and was straight forward with his rates.
Just like the previous review, Anthony is a solid worker and knows what he’s talking about. He ended up having to clear the drain through our roof vent instead of having to remove the toilet and auger it from there.
Cool cat. I’d definitely call him back if services are ever needed. Hopefully, under better circumstances, like upgrading to something instead of having to fix something.

My dad and husband were putting in a new sink when an old, rusted pipe broke and began spewing hot water all over my kitchen. While they are pretty handy guys, they didn’t have the tools necessary to weld the pipe back. As it was a Sunday, we were prepared to get screwed with a high fee.
My husband put out calls to several plumbers in the Vallejo area and got all voicemails. As it turned out, Anthony at Help-​U-​Plumb was the ONLY one to call us back, and it only took him about 10 minutes. A little over an hour later, he was there and getting down and dirty with our sink.
My dad and Anthony chopped it up while he worked. My dad was impressed with the quality of supplies he had to replace our old, crappy pipes. Anthony said it would take him «a couple of hours» and within an hour and a half, he was done. He charged $ 95/​hour, which is the normal going rate for work during the week, so I was stoked it wasn’t jacked up for a Sunday.
He was friendly, efficient, and even showed my dad a few tricks. I really appreciated his work and he is definitely our #1 guy when it comes to plumbing!
Oh, and he has a fishing company too he told us to check out at youtube/​helpufish!

We have home warranty on our house and so they sent a plumber to come and fix our «slow drain» in our shower. I was told by this plumber that he didn’t have a long enough snake to fix our problem and that his snake can only reach up to 4feet. Seriously? What kind of a plumber/​business is that?! He also said that a snake wouldn’t do the job and that we needed a major clean out. He also let us know that this clean out wasn’t covered under our warranty. Go figure.
We were referred to Anthony/​Help-​U-​Plumb. Anthony had the correct tool (s) to get it done and in less than an hour, our problem was fixed! The job was basically a piece of cake! None of this whole «clean out» needed.
I’ll definitely be referring him to everyone! Thanks Anthony!
