Sabor Cocina Mexicana

The service was very disappointing. I have been her multiple times. I love the margaritas & shrimp salad. Last night was ridiculous. Not sure if there is staff or management changes. Made reservations, had to wait 20 min to be seated. Ordered guacamole, which never arrived & after checking with waiter it showed up in the middle of dinner. Waiter never asked if we wanted dessert, just dropped the check off. We split the bill between 3. 1 person didn’t tip since she didn’t drink & the rest covered the tip. Turns out the Waiter added a $ 7 tip anyways. The tip was reduced due to poor service. I guess he didn’t like that so he added it himself. Not cool!
Since we were never offered desert we went to Wolf Creek & ordered a Bottle of wine & 3 deserts. Your loss Sabor!

This is the best Mexican food I have had at a restaurant. I got the carne asada tacos and they where such a great mixture of flavors. You could tell everything was made fresh. The presentation for the appetizer and all of the main dishes my family and myself got was also amazing. Definitely will come back. Drinks are a major plus also

It’s delicious! The atmosphere is fabulous and the wait staff are so pleasant ant attentive! Sabor has been highly recommended and exceeded our expectations.

My boyfriend and I love this place! The staff is always friendly and the food is always amazing. I always get the blue corn tacos! It is a little bit on the expensive side, but I think it’s worth it!

I have been to Sabor many times and have always enjoyed their high quality ingredients and their atmosphere. Staff is always very welcoming and courteous.
I was very disappointed today to be charged 3.75 each for soda waters. We’re talking carbonated tap water, not bottled Pellegrino. Even when I mentioned there must have been a mistake, as the receipt noted «Sprite» on those line items, I was told this is the policy and that every restaurant does this.
I have been to many restaurants and ordered non-​bottled, filtered tap water and never been charged for it. It’s not a huge thing, but if I’m going to pay nearly $ 40 for 6 tacos, I would not expect to be dinged almost $ 8 on two glasses of carbonated tap water.

Been here many times and it’s always a great time. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is fun and the menu is always changing!

Don’t let the charming interior fool you. Sabor Cocina is a solid three-​stars.
I had really, really high hopes when my wife and I stopped with some of her friends to check this place out. The inside is really, really nice.
The menus are heavy and printed on beautiful paper.
The drinks, while a bit overpriced considering you’re at a Mexican restaurant in the Santa Clarita Valley, were tasty and did the trick.
The food was… disappointing. In fairness, they bring out dyed tortilla chips — the kind you might by at Target to celebrate the 4^th of July… so that should have been my warning I’d seen the best that this place had to offer.
My wife and I each got a different version of their tacos and they were fine. They weren’t great. They weren’t even good, really. They were fine.
We haven’t been, and won’t be back — so I cannot recommend it… but if you are in the area and looking for some good drinks, it’d be worth stopping in.

Such a horrible experience. I placed a catering order 2 days in advance. I called the front desk and they said, I would have to come into the restaurant to place a carering order as they didn’t have the menu online. Really?! You can’t send it via Email/​Fax or take a picture and text it? After going there, I placed my order. Which was written in a note pad with a pencil. I’m guessing they couldn’t afford the software to take orders. After ordering they agreed to comp’ me the salsa since I was ordering over $ 600 of food.
The event day comes. I call at 8AM to confirm they would be on time. They confirmed they would.
The delivery time is 11:00AM. I call at 10:50 to confirm once again. They tell me they will head out in 15 mins. OK? I express to them that I had an 11AM drop off and they weren’t going to leave till 11AM. So. I wait. It’s 11:20 AM and still NOTHING. I finally get a call from the driver (who also happened to be the GM) He couldn’t find me building. I explained to him that I wrote the instructions on the paper when I placed the order. He asks me to instruct him. At this point I am beyond irritated. He finally arrives 25 mins late. I am waiting for him in the lobby, so I run to help him unload… laying there is the freaking paper with all of the info on it… SERIOUSLY?! I grab everything and notice the food is COLD. Ughhh… I take the receipt and leave without checking it as I am already 30 mins behind schedule. When I start setting up the lunch for 20 hungry executives I realize they got the order WRONG! they sent me Quesadillas instead of Enchiladas, when I specifically ordered green enchiladas because it’s one of the executives favorite dish. I immediately call the restaurant to notify them that they screwed up big time. The host says he was sorry and would have the GM call me when he gets back as he is still returning from dropping off the order. Either way I had no choice I serve them the incorrect food which was cold and late. THANK YOU Cocina, you really know how to screw over people. The day passes by I never recived a call back from anyone. And on top of that they charged me the freaking salsa. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!

Scanning through my Unilocal bookmarked restaurants to someday try, we settled on this site for another dinner out. And being a Mexican restaurant, we had high hopes for finally finding decent Mexican food in Santa Clarita. We were not disappointed.
With beautiful décor and friendly employees all around. Ambience and delicious chips and salsa, one of our main barometers for Mexican restaurants. And it’s been quite an accurate one. Things were off to a great start.
So after scanning the menu we arrived at our choices of Crepas Mexicana for my wife and originally Pollo en Mole for myself. But after being informed by our knowledgeable and friendly waiter, who’s name escapes me, that my order would take about 35 minutes to prepare, he recommended an off the menu dish of Chicken Mole Enchiladas, since I had stated that I really had a taste for a dish with mole. My dish also came with a very tasty Spanish rice, and we both opted for whole beans over their pinto and black beans. And after the arrival of our orders, both beautifully plated, everything tasted very good.
All told, our search for an extremely good Mexican restaurant in Santa Clarita has at last been satisfied. And the search will continue, Mexican and otherwise.

The best fancy Mexican food around! I love me some street tacos, but Sabor is the place for great flavors prepared to your taste buds!

Nice ambiance, great location, and super décor! The waiters were quick and very knowledgeable. Looking forward to the next time that I am in the area!

FANCY SCHMANCY MEXICANO?
I won’t say the food was bad; I’d even go so far as to say the food is «A-​OK». The most difficult part for me was trying to figure out the menu in the low light and scratching my head trying to wonder which part of Mexico the ‘duck confit’ tacos come from?
Well needless to say the bill for the two of us (which didn’t include any drinks) was $ 55 bucks for some carnitas tacos, a carne asada burrito and ten dollar dish of guacamole. The carnitas was VERY TASTY, and the steak burrito was okay. Just not sure what I was thinking to spend that much on Mexican food.
I don’t think I’ll be back again— and not because the food wasn’t good. Just don’t see the value. Afterall this is Santa Clarita not Santa Monica.

My wife and I have been going here since it opened. Fine dining Mexican and margaritas that rock. The food is inventive with well conceived flavor profiles. Even when we’re short on time we like to head on over for a margarita and ceviche so good it good be served at a sushi bar.
You want your typical two item combo with a platter full of rice and refried beans? Head on down the street and turn left cause you ain’t gonna find that here.
But, maybe you’re up for duck confit in mole sauce? Or, a little cochinita pibil maybe? Check out the tacos with everthing from pork belly to scallops. Yeah, that’s what’s being served here.
The wait staff is friendly, knowledgable and always happy to see us. The owner is often present to make sure everything is just right. We haven’t been disappointed, yet.

This is one classy Mexican restaurant. Don’t expect the usual Mexican fare. The menu has unusual and wonderful options. I had a hard time choosing what to order. I did choose the shrimp salad. It was wonderful. The baby greens were fresh and there were 6 jumbo shrimp on top. They were cooked perfectly and had Soooo much flavor! My daughter just loves their tacos made with jicama shells.
I ordered a regular margarita, on the rocks with no salt. It was OK but, it was huge!
The service was exceptional even though our group was over 20 people.
They have a nice patio area that has heaters and is quite comfy.
The inside décor is beautiful.
They are a bit pricey ($ 17-​$ 24 each entrée) but worth it for a really nice meal.

Sabor is maybe my favorite Mexican restaurant in Santa Clarita. I just love the interior vibe. From the outside it looks like a other cute restaurant stuck in a shopping plaza, but dining here really takes you away to a dining retreat.
There is also plenty of outside patio seating with nearby fountains and plants to set s unique mood. Overhead string lights add a little mood lighting for a more intimate setting.
Once inside you are seated at either high back cove type booths or carved wooden tables. There is also a second room where there are open tables and a bar with a TV for a more casual feel.
I ordered up the chicken enchiladas and was quite impressed with the presentation. The plate was beautifully served with 3 shredded chicken nchiladas, rice and refried beans in a fried tortilla shell. For me there was just enough sauce on top. Not so much where the tortillas get all soggy but enough to compliment the flavor of the tender chicken. On top they drizzle a smooth sour cream topping that doesn’t over power the entrée. I also tried the Sopa de Tortilla which was very good. Lots of tortilla strips and soup that is not watered down.
Service was great. Our waiter told us the specials and recommended some new dishes. Oh and margaritas are really amazing too! I got the watermelon margarita which was so good and refreshing. The Cadillac margarita was also very nice, and bigger in size if you are in need of more relaxing.
Plenty of parking out in the shared parking lot of Bridgeport Marketplace. If you live around here you gotta try this place.

I’ve been to Sabor twice in two weeks.
Both times the service was excellent (thank you Jorge), and the food was excellent. I recommend the Enchiladas Sabor.

We used to come here more frequently. Six years ago, we even had our wedding rehearsal dinner here because we loved it so much. But over the past few years we stopped coming and I’ll get to why. The staff are all amazing. They are very friendly, warm & interact with their patrons. That certainly isn’t why.
So we made it back finally & we were once again extremely happy with the service & the food. Everyone from the hostess, to our server, Christopher, to the manager was fantastic. The vibe & atmosphere in there is genuine Mexican culture. It is immaculately decorated and classy. But I finally remembered why we stopped coming. I believe the food is overpriced. Our grilled chicken burrito was $ 16, the tacos dorados were $ 15 and our guacamole appetizer was $ 9! Yes, $ 9 for a small bowl of guacamole. The Sabor margaritas were $ 13 but they are very large so it was fair. While everything tastes good, I can’t justify their prices.
Listen, I still like the place. Like I said, the food & atmosphere are fantastic but I would come much more often if their prices were lower. It’s not going to stop me from coming back, but it will only be once in a while instead of all the time.

I’m from Texas and this place is the best Mexican restaurant in Cali!!! It’s hard to find good Mexican food in Cali and this place does it right! I’ve been here twice and have not been disappointed! Chips and salsa are fresh and tasty! The taquitos delicious and the chicken tacos with peppers were exceptional! Margaritas are large and very good as well, they have many different flavor too!
I love the décor as well it’s just beautiful!
