Gold’s Gym Valencia

Kelly Baldi is an awesome trainer at Golds Gym. She always introduces variety into my training sessions. The sessions are always challenging and she pushes me to my limit. She cares deeply about her clients.

I’m new to the area and just started working out at Gold’s last week. The gym itself is staffed by friendly and knowledgeable workers and is kept clean and tidy. I signed up for some personal training sessions with trainer Cody. He is respectful and motivating (which is HUGE for me) and he comes up with workouts that I actually enjoy. They have a huge selection of cardio equipment and a cardio cinema too.

I highly recommend Golds Gym in Valencia mainly because of Jeff Cordeiro my trainer and also Daniel Rivera and Stephanie (sorry did not get last name) in management. The gym itself is lots better in many ways to other memberships I’ve had. I recently lost my job and they worked with me so I could make wise decisions and still work out. I appreciate that in this day and age. 5 stars all around, if 5 is the most.

I like the gym a lot. It is well maintained, clean, a lots of equipment. Great cinema cardio room. The best part is their trainers, I would say that my personal trainer Jeff Cordeiro is one of the best! He is the most knowledgable and passionate for his job. He creates the program for everybody specifically to their needs, and it is complete with exercise and nutrition. If one follows exactly everything, the result are inevitable. I learned a lot from him about nutrition, which I thought I knew it all but I still keep learning. I work out with him 3 times a week, and despite the sourness in my muscles, I am looking forward to every session with great excitement. Jeff Cordeiro knows how to make you work out to your best, and achieve the results you want. He wrote a book which is due to be published soon, and can’t wait to get it. The name of the book is «Your body an owners manual».

Money is the motive here. They feed you lies and «forget» to tell you details of a contract they don’t let you read. My bad on skipping the fine print but month to month doesn’t mean a 12 month contract. Going to this gym was the worst mistake and cost me A LOT of money. Full of meat heads and the front desk only cares about talking to the other employees and making suggestive gestures towards the young men GROSS. Not about getting fit its all a social party, NO THANKS.

I been working out for 8 years now and been apart of many gyms. Hands down I can easily say that Golds Gym Valencia is one of the nicest facility’s I’ve ever been apart of. As a gym enthusiast I can really appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, the upkeep on the facility being very clean, the members here aren’t all here to socialize, instead they’re here to get results. The weights are always where they’re supposed to be, most members are respectful and re rack what they use, those things matter to me. The front desk staff always seem to make you feel at home and provide excellent service not only with the towels being ready but also being extra encouraging, welcoming and nice. As we all know this is a health club, «meatheads» will always be in any health club, it’s not a surprise, it’s a gym. Nothing is ever perfect for anyone, people will always try to find something negative to say about any establishment, if you haven’t seen the gym for yourself or experienced it, you’ll know this review was everything and more than what I said it out to be.

Haha all you other people don’t know what a review is supposed to entail. You are all not fit either. Your review shouldn’t be about your inability to read a contract, or them not having your favorite stupid machine, it should be about factors generally relevant to the philosphy of exercise and fitness gains. Learn how to read and write people.
This gym gets 0 stars because the gym is not fit for its location. With all of the meat heads who go here who do nothing but one rep and then slam their weights on the ground, there is absolutely no space for people who want to lift to make huge gains. Two squat racks, 2 inches apart and a smith machine that collects dust in a corner. Really? When you have to wait 20 minutes to deadlift and 30 minutes to peck fly, there is something wrong with what you have going on.
A gym should not be flooded with stupid machines that hardly anyone uses. If you eliminated the entire upstairs half of the gym and turned it into an entire free weight area, then people could actually make real gains. Keep the downstairs pussy area for people who want to use triple pully machines (to make it seem like they are lifting more than they really are, pussies), thinking they are being productive. They do not need to be upstairs where the real work is.
Gold’s is not a gym, it’s an insecure girl who is being a pushover by giving in to what their customers want; which is a social club where a bunch of 22 year old College of the Canyon’s «bruhs» that do 3 reps of arm curls on the only curl machine upstairs and then sits on the machine for 15 minutes playing Clash of Clans on his cellphone.
Oh parking sucks.
In the end, it is quite clear that a gym is supposed to support the philosophy of exercise and fitness GAINS. this place does not do that.

Once they have your startup fee the staff simply doesn’t have any interest in helping you. They seem incredible when you’re first singing up, but once they have your sign up fee, they simply aren’t helpful.
I’ve been a Gold’s Gym member for just over a year now. I needed a little help with my account today, but I could tell by her tone and body language today that the lady behind the desk had no interest in helping me.
The equipment and the locker room are fairly clean, but the disinterested staff is just such a pain to deal with. I’ve begun to dread every interaction with them.

Have been a member since before it opened and we loved it. Tried to add my son back onto our plan and they wanted 40 $ a month. So we quit and went to la fitness. We now pay 85 $ for four of us and golds lost 4 members. I will miss the cardio cinema but will now enjoy racquetball and basketball and the benefits of multiple gyms…

The equipment is very well kept and always looks brand new. The cardio cinema is great, especially if you’re not a fan of cardio! The prices are almost dead even with other gyms in the area, and actually cheaper in the long run. The only down side is they only have 2 squat racks, and people hog them for over an hour at a time.

First of all DON’T. Don’t even join this gym. Their classes are very lack luster, parking is horrible, and their memberships are a scam. Their so called month to month just cost me over $ 500 and 10 calls to cancel. They make up these stupid rules about cancellation and make it impossible to cancel your membership in one easy step. Rip off, not worth the time or money.

I just joined this gym last month. So far I have been very pleased with the facility. It is very clean and very organized. The people are generally friendly although I have felt like I needed to initiate conversation. I go super early in the morning and do not have any problems with parking or finding space in the free weights section.
Things that irritate me are:
guys who think they are cool and insist on dropping their weights. I mean really? If the weight is too heavy for you pick something smaller. If you need help, let me know. Do not drop your weights it is very irritating!
I have been lifting weights for many years yet going to a new gym always presents itself with new equipment. In a sense it is a little overwhelming. In the past there have always been trainers that worked with you when you first signed up at the gym that showed you how to work on the equipment. This was never offered to me and I feel like it does the gym a disservice. Happy clients equals successful gym.
The gym does have a towel service. However, that being said, the town is big enough to cover your breasts and that is about it. They are also so chemically processed that it is like drying oneself with sandpaper.
The locker rooms:
They are very very clean and very very spacious. I really do like the locker rooms. They are HUGE. I have a hard time in the showers bc Even though they are large and spacious the showerheads are so clogged with mineral buildup that the water comes out sporadically. It is also only lukewarm and rarely hot. This presents a problem when you have a long hairstyle and you are trying to get shampoo out of your hair…
The music they play in the locker room is horrendous. It is some strange jazz type of music that is so irritating it makes me feel very anxious. The music in the locker room should be relaxing and provide some type of cadence to the end of your workout.
Overall I am very pleased and I expect to enjoy my membership. No if I could just get them to fix those things that irritate me so much. When they do I’ll give them five out of five.

My favorite gym… ever! I am back after a couple of years… Moved back into SCV and proud to be back in my old stomping grounds. Boy, I missed this place after being a member at LA Fitness in Pasadena for a couple of years… It’s where I used to spend hours and hours prepping for competitions. Nice to come back with some new upgrades and even new stretching machines upstairs… Ahh so good for post leg day. Love the cinema cardio room, beats my home gym… The only thing I wish I still had was my old VIP access which was bring a buddy program.
The newer Gold’s like this location have all the luxury amenities! Pool, steam room sauna, spin room, tanning bed…
Nice luxurious locker rooms with relaxing jazz background music.
Clean and maintained daily. Equivalent to Equinox without the $ 150 monthly price.
Machines are well kept and constantly maintained. Up to date equipment and parts.
The only thing they’re missing now is a hot yoga studio. That would complete my fit life. Lol

Love this gym! It’s nice and clean. It has a variety of equipment to target and impact your muscle development. I absolutely love their stretching machines!!! The cinema cardio room is another favorite!!! I was about to install a new tv into my mini home gym but who needs that when you can watch movies in the cinema cardio room!!! All the equipment functions well and there has never been a time when I have to wait for equipment to be freed up for use. My favorite gym by far!

Although this gym is clean and the equipment is up-​to-​date, it is completely disreputable. I normally do not post reviews but I wanted to warn any others who are considering starting or ending a membership here.
Over a year and a half ago, I called Gold’s to cancel my membership. The employee on the phone told me that it was cancelled and thanked me for my membership. Now, over a year later I noticed a mark on my credit, and that is how I found out that they had never cancelled it, but sent a huge bill to collections for God-​knows-​what. They never attempted to contact me or explain that they were going to bill me. Their business is underhanded, shady, and completely unprofessional. I used to love this gym but now I have had first hand experience with their crooked ways, and I hope this review will help others to not fall prey to the same situation.

I wouldn’t even give them one star but Unilocal doesn’t give the option. I signed up couple of month back on month to month lease being very specific about monthly term. After trying out for month and half I wanted to cancel and called them back to cancel and they told me i have signed up for year deal
So i talked to guy who signed me up and he recognized that I should be on month to month deal but «somehow» i was on yearly deal and now they cant do anything about it now even after his discussion with manager. I asked to talk to manager and suddenly she was out of office. I was told that she would call me first thing next morning. Its been three weeks and that morning has not come yet… Be aware of what you are signing up for…

The place is great. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because one of the members helped me out to try to switch my account to this location 2x in one day and wasn’t able to. At first he couldn’t print out my copy of the paperwork and the second time he was taking to long that I had to leave. I suppose you don’t need computer skills if you’re a trainer. This is unsatisfactory especially when you are on a schedule the last thing you need is an incompetent person helping you.
UPDATE: so I come over to cancel– which online says you can do in person. They give me to a number to call. Then the receptionists tells me that I’m in contract until Aug 2016. After a few minutes they realized that was a mistake… thanks to a manager that helped me out walking in and remembering me.
My experience dealing with the staff has been mediocre at best. The facility itself is nice. but ultimately it boils down to customer service and for that I downgraded it to 2 stars.

As everyone seems to say, «It is clean.» Interesting that the lead in most positive reviews is something that is a minimal expectation for a facility. :) I will agree that it is clean. I guess I have never been a disgusting gym, so maybe it is headline worthy.
Lots of equipment! Like the cardio cinema set-​up. Like the variety of classes. Instructors are terrific! Like the music and the water dispensing system.
What keeps me from giving 4 or 5 stars:
* Cardio cinema schedule has only been posted online once since I’ve been a member. You think the management could stay on top of that.
* The free trainer evaluation/​work-​out is not the kind of sales technique that works for me. It was such a turn-​off that I cancelled the second free session. In fact, you could not pay me to go through that — not because of the work-​out but because of the sales tactics. Interesting that after cancelling the session, nobody even asked if it was a bad experience — it’s like, OK this is not a sale — move on.
I will just go and use it for what I need. Overall, it is A-​OK. :)

Been going here for about a year now. The gym is not huge like some others but not tiny by any means. It has two floors of equipment and some specialty rooms too.
Upstairs you get dozens of treadmills, stair climbers and elliptical machines. Up there is the free weights, weight machines and balls and resistance gear. Downstairs is more treadmills and ellipticals. I have never see it so crowded as to have to wait to use equipment which is great.
The specialty rooms include, a good sized cycle spin room, an aerobic room for classes and another spin room with a movie theater screen (it’s big). They also offer 2 tanning rooms, steam room, pool, and jacuzzi.
If you have little ones they have a kids play /​daycare for a small fee. Another bonus that most gyms don’t have is the towel service for showers and workout. Lockers are int the changing rooms. Free wifi too!
Oh and there are plenty of personal trainers which all have been pretty nice when I have met them. There is a small snack are but nothing fresh made.
All included in the membership. The people that frequent the gym all are pretty chill and not obnoxious. Friendly neighborhood vibe.
