Tiny airport with service from Delta Connect regional flights to and from Atlanta. Three out and three in most of the time ;) What I mean is that the last flight back to Valdosta on a Sunday night is a roll of the dice to make it! Guaranteed delayed :) But I will take it to be able to hit ATL in 40 min and off to where I want to go the price sure beats driving to and from ATL and paying for parking. BTW parking is free here. There have been times when driving to JAX and paying for parking was worth the savings on a direct flight. But the majority of times I love the convenience of flying out of Valdosta even if it is a little more. I dont own a plane but I have a few friends that do and the FBO is awesome as well.

I hate coming to this airport because it seems I always run into a problem whenever I come home to see my parents. The personnel there are a little over-the-top with the security checks by going thru all my toiletries in the specified zip lock size bag(non being over 4 onces). On a different occasion I brought the wrong driver’s license and was told I could not fly which was incorrect because TSA will allow you to travel up to a year after your license expires. Thank goodness I had my social security card because after I was given such a hard time I was allowed to take my scheduled flight. I never have these types of issues going thru major airports. Let’s get it together guys!

I love this airport! It is tiny, 3 flights out and 3 flights in per day…1 aircraft, but it’s great. You always know when the plan will take off and land every day. Also, there is FREEPARKING! Very rare these days. You pay a little more to flight in/out of here, but it is well worth it to me because it is 11 miles from my house and I don’t have to drive 2hrs to JAX or 4hrs to ATL and pay excessive parking fees. And you only need to show up an hour before your flight, no lines, there will only be about 30 people here waiting to board the plane… big PLUS!

The only airport I ever have been to that was this small was in the island of St. Vincent. This place has a lobby, a security check point and then a waiting area. I believe they only offer shuttle service to ATL via Delta. Basically this is a bus stop for an airplane. They have free wi-fi! Which is why 4 stars not 3. Beware: I had a reservation with Hertz for my car rental and there were no cars. None at neighboring Avis counter either. So I had to wait a few hours for someone to return a car. Not sure if this is a regular problem here, but it is a teeny little airport. They have a Subway before security in case you are hungry.

I’ve been to a LOT of airports, and I have to say this is definitely one of the smallest at which I’ve ever actually seen a jet. Given, the jet in question was a CRJ200, but it was a jet all the same. There is only one«gate». It’s basically one large cattle call area past the TSA checkpoint. There is no food and no entertainment here, and the two televisions I saw were playing ‘The 700 Club’ and ‘Fox News’, respectively. I think that about sums it up. I realize it’s a small-town regional airport, and you can’t expect too much. I only need use it as a means to meet my «real» plane at the nearby Air Force base, so I give it three stars out of the goodness of my heart, and because I’m thankful I don’t have to use it often.
