We were on a road trip and decided to crash in Vale for the night. All I could think about was«this is where Dumb and Dumber came in the movie!» :-) I found this place online and it had good reviews, a good price, and it was clean. We checked in around 9pm one night, dropped our stuff off in our clean room with plantation wooden shutters, and then went to the annual Vale Oktoberfest event going on across the hotel parking lot. The next morning, the complimentary breakfast was also a delight. There was lots of fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, and bagels. I would definitely stay here again next time I swing through Vale.

Truly«As good as it gets!» Let me start by saying that I travel a lot for work; I stay in tons of hotels, B&B’s and even Airbnb’s throughout any given year. This place is easily in my Top 5 favorite spots that I’ve ever stayed in. But, let me also state that this is predominately due to the room type that we had and the proximity to downtown Vail(less than a 5 minute walk). The Lodge Tower offers rooms in more of a hotel style, as well as 1,2,3 bedroom condominium styles. We had a 3-bedroom condo with 9 people(it’s $ 25 more per night/person over 6 people) and there was plenty of room for that many people. There are bed options of 2 queens, king, and even adding a sofa bed; we had 2 beds in each room. Each room also comes with a bathroom and there are multiple entrances into the«condo». Not all rooms come with(A/C), so if you think you may need it, you must request(additional charge). We had it, but really didn’t need it(Labor Day weekend). My favorite aspects of these condo’s was this: The balcony(with 2 entrances) that overlooked the pool, slopes and adjacent mountain. It provided a breathtaking view while we’d eat breakfast in the morning or hang out with a cocktail in the evening. The next best thing was the intimate fireplace in the living room. The Tower provides each room with ample wood/kindling for many days of fires. There’s also a large flat screen in the living room, and a smaller flat screen in each room(plus they provide DVD players). The kitchen is large, and up to date with it’s appliances. It is also stocked with any utensils one may need, and a dishwasher so you don’t have to dishpan your hands. The bathrooms are stocked with Aveda products. There’s a free continental breakfast every morning with bagels, danishes/pastries, fruit, oatmeal, juices and coffee. There are a few parking spots available in front of the hotel and then many more in the inside garage. The pool was great– large in size, with a little waterfall/grotto area, a smaller kids pool and a big hot tub. The fitness room is massive and has free-weights, cardio Finally, I just need to say that the staff here is remarkable. They are super-friendly and helpful. They allowed us to park our over-sized vehicle out front of the hotel. They also allowed us to have multiple vehicles detailed inside their garage. The staff began to know us by name and were consistently checking on us to see that we had everything we needed. This is probably the most affordable spot in downtown Vail and I couldn’t imagine a better place for the price. I think this quote from their website really sums up The Lodge Tower: «Comfortable setting and remarkable location, we offer guests an unpretentious atmosphere which feels like family, yet remains professional. « I can’t wait to come back…
