History

Established in 2005.

In the fall of 2001, Sandman arrived in Colorado and decided to stay. A co-worker brought him to a local establishment that had karaōke on Friday nights. Sandman began attending these shows regularly and eventually was offered the opportunity to «guest host» the show. In 2003, Sandman won a local karaōke contest and that became the catalyst that combined his singing, hosting and computer expertise into the «career» of karaōke entertainment services.

During the 2005 – 2006 ski season, Sandman was offered the opportunity to take over the independently run karaōke show at Loaded Joe’s Coffee House & Lounge in Avon, Colorado. This karaōke night has been voted «Best of Vail» several times over the years and is still ongoing on Friday nights.

From there, Sandman branched out and offers mobile karaōke entertainment services to venues all over ski country Colorado as well as Denver. His high-energy, digitally produced, pro-audio/visual shows are also available for private events.

Meet the Business Owner

David S.

Business Owner

Sandman was born in Gainseville, Florida, and lived in the Orlando area as a child with a year or two spent near Anchorage, Alaska. He moved to Illinois at the age of 11. He moved around the suburbs of Chicago until moving into the city (North Side) in 1981. He spent a little time back in Florida, in the Tampa area during the early ’80’s and a couple of years in Kentucky during the mid ’80’s but then back to Chicago to spend about 10 years as a bike messenger and amateur bike racer. In early 1996 Sandman moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and then, later that year, on to New York City. Sandman honed his computer skills and developed into an elite-level mountain bike racer and in the fall of 2001 he went to Vail for an intended 2-week stop and never left. He discovered karaōke as a fun way to get to meet people and found another way to make a living doing something he loves.
