Wasserman Travel has been in downtown Vacaville for 27 years. We specialize in CRUISES and TOURS, especially Exotic. We are also Solano County’s leader in sales to other destinations like Hawaii, Mexico, Las Vegas, and Disneyland. We are major sellers of Suntrips, Southwest Vacations, and Sandal’s Resorts.

We plan family reunions, and anniversaries, especially on cruise ships. We are as comfortable booking a Kenya Safari, as we are a Ski Trip to Argentina. Should your vacation desires be simple or complex, we are the first people you should call!

History

Established in 1978.

Morry, Betty and Wendy Wasserman opened Wasserman Travel after being with a large chain of travel agencies. Jim Kellogg, married Wendy and joined the family team in 1982. We wanted the hometown, personal touch to be our mission, not corporate bottomlines. Although we have an online presence we prefer the personal touch and communication. Everyone of the owners is an integral part of their community, by serving on committees and boards at the Chamber of Commerce, Soroptimist, Rotary Club, Saturday Club, Childrens Network, YMCA, Make a Wish, and more.

I have been in the travel business since 1970. I started during the Vietnam War at a travel agency on Travis AFB that was open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We only closed for «bomb scares». We had to have heart, and treat people with dignity as they had just served their country in the most personal of ways. This love of people and our desire to serve has just been brought forward. I studied Communications and Business at Sacramento State University. After competion there, in 1978, we opened our own family agency. I met my fabulous husband the same year. We married in 1980 and he joined the family business in 1982. He is an amazing and a brilliant travel specialist too, Jim and I are in the office everyday. In fact there is always a family member in house to assure you are getting the best from us and our other travel planners.

We have booked several trips through Wasserman, working with both Wendy and Jim. Their knowledge and attention to detail gives me peace of mind to focus on other aspects of our trips. Our most recent adventure was to Eastern Europe. It went off without a hiccup. But I know if there are any issues (and travel is never issue free!) they are a phone call away from anywhere in the world.

Trip of a life time for our family. Thank you Jim, we couldn’t have done it without you. Whole trip from Africa, the Almalfi Coast and other cities in Italy, to getting our daughter then to London and Paris all went smoothly without a hitch. The private and semi private excursions that were planned a head of time went perfectly. Tour guides showed up in nice clean cars and spoke understandable English and always prompt and nice. Hotels were lovely and convieninetly located and Safari amazing. Your help (too many phone calls and emails from us to mention) was always above and beyond professional. Thank you for all the wonderful memories!

Terrible experience. Met with Wendy to book a month trip to New Zealand. We knew just what we wanted and we’re ready to give a deposit and plan the activities. After 15 minutes she gave us a brochure and told us to call her back next week. As we were leaving she told my husband did he realize this was going to be expensive. We never mentioned money. Will never return. By the way we found another agent in Sac. We were treated great. Leaving in January for Fiji and New Zealand. Joan M angels Sequeira

Holy Cancun Batman!
My fiancé and I went to go get some ideas for our honeymoon. We sat down with a male employee at the back of the business and he asked what we were looking for. We told him we wanted to look into a honeymoon destination and that we were interested in Europe. He basically told us that the only way to travel in Europe is on a group tour on a tourbus (sounds great spending a honeymoon smashed on a tour bus with 60 other people right?). As an alternative he suggested Cancun… I explained we were looking for something more adventurous and less sitting on the beach… to which he then responded by showing us a picture of a ruin we could see in Cancun. He begins a long winded rant about Cancun and I politely interject that Mexico is definitely not what we are looking for. He raises his voice and barks that I’m not letting him finish his pitch about Cancun. Awkwardly, we let him finish and then repeat that we really don’t want to go to Cancun… then he demands to know why not. I explained we had both been to Mexico and we want to go to Europe… then he rudely explains that the places we had been to in Mexico were «totally different» than Cancun and we have no idea what we are saying no to!!! (Does he get a royalty off these Cancun deals?!) At this point I gave a «no thanks AGAIN» and gave up speaking to Mr. Cancun realizing we wouldn’t ever get any advice about Europe. We go to grab a few brochures (on Europe) and he chases us down and shows me a picture of a beach and asked if it looked appealing. I said…“Well we don’t mind the beach but we really want to explore rather than sit on a beach…” (Sound familiar? I ALREADY said this.) …and then he flips the page and tries to say «You can explore the ruin!» Guess what?! It’s a brochure of CANCUN! Again! We bolted out of that place and felt like we had been pranked on a reality tv show.
Bottom line: if you want to travel to Cancun… come here… otherwise stay 100 yards away.

This Travel Agency is wonderful. I have booked several vacations through Wasserman and every one has turned out great. Pirjo, who is no longer there did a great job booking our vacations just as we wanted. Last couple of trips were handled by Wendy Wasserman and again, we were very pleased.
One note; every single vacation we booked through Wasserman we got upgraded on the cruise or at the hotel at no cost. Maybe we are just lucky but I’m not gonna risk it by going elsewhere. Book your next vacation with Wasserman. You won’t be sorry.

Monica from Wasserman Travel is excellent, she always manages to get me the hotels and plane tickets in difficult places and times of the year. Her customer service is top grade and she is a super sweet lady. :-) She has been my travel agent for more than 10 years.
