History
Established in 1971.
We have been in business since 1971 with our first store, William’s Natural Foods originating in Richmond, California. We put in our first Vitamin Adventure store in Vacaville in 1992 with a Fairfield, Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill and Santa Rosa location following in 1995 – 96. We are an old fashioned mom & pop store with old fashioned idea’s about business. It is our desire to provide the best selection at the best possible price and provide expert knowledge and service to go along with it. Of course it should be understood that knowledge comes with time so the personnel are all at different levels depending upon how long they have worked for the company. We provide ongoing training to all employee’s who work sales floor so that their knowledge can grow as long as they work for us.

My husband, mother and father-in-law and myself began in this industry in 1971 when a small natural food store in Richmond, California came up for sale and the family purchased it. My husband, Bill, operated the store and it developed from an 800 sq. ft store to encompass the whole building it occupied over the next few years. The store prospered and Bill opened another William’s store in the Hilltop Mall (since closed) which was successful for 28 years. When we all moved to Vacaville Bill decided to begin opening stores that had the supplements but not the food. He began opening VA stores in 1992 and eventually opened 7 of them. Bill’s dad passed away in 1994, Bill passed away in 2008 after a 14 year battle with various cancers and his mom passed away at 97 in 2013. The 5 remaining stores which includes William’s are now owned and operated, for whatever it is worth, by me. Since Bill’s death all stores have been remodeled and look awesome.
