Local artist Erika Van Dewark creates breathtaking etched glass pieces predominantly on imported European crystal. Her designs range from wildlife to still life and abstract to traditional. Along with her original hand drawn, cut, and sand blasted designs, she can also be commissioned for custom work, and personalizes pieces per request, making all of her pieces great gifts for any occasion.

Van Dewark Fine Art Carvings offers a wide variety of etched products, including crystal stemware, ice buckets, pitchers, decanters, shot glasses and coasters which will elevate any tablescape to a level of refined elegance and sophistication. Wine bottles are also available in a variety of sizes and make great custom orders for personal keepsakes or corporate gifts. If you’re looking for something more precious, Van Dewark’s collection of art vases make a breath taking addition to any room. Choose from one of our signature wildlife themed pieces, or commission a piece unique and specific to your tastes.

Erika Van Dewark also acts as the lead designer of Van Dewark Construction and subsequently offers a variety of custom made architectural elements. Our showroom showcases examples of her glass privacy screens, etched glass sink basins, chandeliers, door and window designs, etched corporate logo samples, lamps and water-jet cut glass tables.

History

Established in 2013.

Since 1980 Erika Van Dewark has been creating beautiful carved images in hand blown Crystal and architectural glass. She apprenticed at Moving Glass Studio in Point Reyes Station, while also working extensively for the US National Park and Forest Service. Her well traveled background and love of nature fuels most of her art, which often features horses and equestrian culture, North American game animals, and African wildlife.

After having toured the world with her art for over two and half decades, selling and exhibiting throughout Northern, Central and Southern America, as well as Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, in December of 2013, Erika and her husband Steve finally set up permanent shop in Downtown Vacaville.

Business Owner

Erika’s summers as a child were spent horseback riding in Ireland, which quickly blossomed into a general love of wildlife and travel. As an adult she found great joy working for the US National Park and Forest Service and lived in Yosemite National Park and Hawaii, amongst other places. After leaving the Parks Service, her next destination was Africa. Over several visits, and countless hours observing its creatures in their natural habitats, Africa was permanently etched on Erika’s brain, and in turn she etched into her art. Upon returning home, she continued to pursue her artistic endeavors, but also took some time to become an elephant trainer at Six Flags Marine World, where she worked trunk in hand with some of the Earth’s largest and most endearing land animals. She also became a member and exhibitor of Safari Club International and has built a solid and reputable relationship with their organization and members over the years.
