Specialties
The Academy of 21st Century Learning is designed to support the growth of the whole child in the complex process of development. As our California curriculum becomes more and more enriched, each child needs a higher degree of competence and interest in the basic academic skills required for success. We support and tutor using the California Common Core standards in reading, writing, math, science, and foreign language.
Learning how to study is equally as important as the material being studied. Even our best and brightest can fail to achieve their ultimate potential if their study skills are lacking. These skills are relevant throughout our children’s lives and are a part of each program.
Drop by and let your children experience The Academy. They can do math problems on our whiteboard tables and create a masterpiece on our washable wall. Let’s bring the fun back into learning!
History
Established in 2013.
After working five years as the Center Director for a nationally franchised tutoring corporation, The Academy of 21st Century Learning was created to fill the academic gaps of science, technology, engineering, and art and to align with the Common Core curricula. Currently all subjects from early childhood reading through college-prep reading and analysis, writing, and math are being taught. Study skills and art are a part of each program.
Meet the Business Owner
Barbara D.
Business Owner
After university, Barbara went into Human Resources with some of the most respected companies in the country and specialized in employee training and development. After creating award winning training programs for over two decades, Barbara left corporate America to become an educational consultant in Northern California for high-risk students.
She soon discovered that her students were unable to obtain jobs so once again began to create a program, this time for her students. She called it The Job Journey and eventually the program was implemented in fourteen states. For the next few years, Barbara traveled with her program, speaking at educational conventions across the country.
Tired of traveling, Barbara went to work with a nationally franchised learning corporation, as the Vacaville Center Director, and stayed for over five years before opening The Academy of 21st Century Learning.
