We live next to open space which, unfortunately, sends a steady stream of rodents our way. Our tile roof is no match for them. We were getting more than a little fed up with our regular exterminator, who would just shrug each time we called him out. He recommended Sentient Pest Exclusion Services. Ralph gave us a reasonable estimate for the very extensive work that needed to be done to seal up our roof and attic. While up on the roof, he took lots of pictures and showed us how they were getting in. He spent the entire day sealing up the holes and entry ways. He found ways rats were getting into the attic that would have been impossible for us to find. In short, he did an outstanding job. My husband says, «he is really good at thinking like a rat. It’s really hard to figure out how they are getting in. But somehow he was able to do it.» Ralph is also very punctual, responsible, great at returning calls, super reliable and just an all around great guy. I would highly recommend him to anyone who has a persistent attic rodent problem.

We have a rental house in Davis, CA. Our tenant complained of the dreaded scratching noise in the attic at night. Ralph came out and inspected our house and found how they were getting in. There was clear proof in my mind that he found the location of how they got in. He then gave us an estimate/​proposal for what it would take to pest proof this entire house [and not just the one location]. We accepted his proposal and met him at the house. Ralph did a wonderful job of ridding our garage of rats. I had just about given up hope, since I did not want to call the «glue and poison» type services. Ralph’s approach is humane and effective — find where the rats are coming in, block their entry, and keep them outside! It has been over a year since our intractable problem was solved. I would give him ten stars if I could.

We have a bat problem! Ralph came over and put up the bat exclusion system and we haven’t seen a bat since! He was quick and efficient. Arrived on time and was professional and courteous. We will definitely use his services in the future.

We have had problems with rats in one of our buildings for a few years now and have had numerous people come out to do exclusion services. Ralph was referred to us by another highly recommended pest exclusion company. This company said they had worked with him before and highly recommended him. The company I called didn’t work in our area but Ralph did.
Ralph promptly returned my calls and arrived to our business right on time. He was polite and prepared. He spend ample time investigating our situation and when his initial inspection was completed he very specific and informative as to what he found. He also explained what he would be doing to correct the problem if given the opportunity. Ralph definitely sounded confident and knowledgeable in this area so of course we asked him to come back and preform the services. Upon his return he again arrived promptly, greeted me and explained he would get right to work. When Ralph was finished I asked him if he would show our maintenance man what he had done so we could periodically check on the entry points ourselves over time and he graciously took the extra time to review all of his work with him. Ralph thanks us for having him out and let us know to give him a call if we needed him to come back to check on things. After Ralph left our maintenance man come into my office and said, «I like that guy. He really seems to know what he’s talking about and did great work, not like the others we’ve had out.» I had to agree!
A few weeks after Ralph had come out a co-​worker and I were talking about the great work Ralph had done. My co-​worker decided to refer Ralph to a friend of his. My co-​worker just came into my office and said he friend just told him they had Ralph out to their home and said, «Thank you! That’s the best money I’ve ever spent!» Who says that? Way to go Ralph!

Ralph at Sentient Pest Exclusion had been enormously helpful in getting my rat problem under control. I live in the Village Homes area of Davis, with abundant fruit trees and my own chickens. In the summer of 2012, the rat problem exploded. I stopped counting after I caught 15, and realized that I needed help. Ralph gave a very thorough inspection on his first visit and outlined a course of action that included sealing the attic with wire and foam, and also replacing the damaged insulation. He also recommended trimming back trees from the roof and other simple measures that I could take. The results were dramatic: I could sleep at night without thinking that I was hearing rats in my attic. I have had him back once in 2013 to do some additional work, and he has helped other neighbors in Village Homes. I highly recommend him!
