What an awesome guy, a true craftsman!!!
We pulled our carpet up and saw we had hardwood underneath, then, after completely removing carpet, we found that the hardwood flooring was actually a mixture of hard woods throughout, different types of wood, plank sizes, patterns, uneven floor elevation and rectangular cut outs in floor that had previously been patched over and the surface scratched, marred, and just ugly, I thought we would have to either lay down laminate or tile… Restoration seemed unlikely and super expensive…, then my wife called Maxx.
When I heard the price and what he proposed to do to make it look good again I thought it was a mistake, it was about ½ the cost of laminate or tile. I was scared … I thought we’d get what we pay for…
… I WAS WRONG!!! …WE GOT SO MUCH MORE!!!
Our hardwood floors look great, he reworked a few planks to change the pattern so it looked natural, he sanded all the gouges out of floor, he leveled the floors, and he made the dis-​similar woods look like they belonged together!!!
He’s a flooring artist that charges way less than he’s worth!!!

Max is a gem! He’s a real professional and a perfectionist which is exactly what you want with wood floors. He very patiently worked around our time schedule and installed the wood floor expertly. We are delighted and would highly recommend Max!

Maxx did a great job refinishing our 26 year-​old oak flooring. His price was reasonable (about $ 3.50 per foot in our case) and the floors glowed. The detail work was excellent, even tricky borders with flooring in other rooms. His crew made some bad damage areas magically disappear. We highly recommend him.

Maxx came to our home about two weeks ago to take the measurements of our floors. After a week of doing the math and writing out all the supplies and items he needed for the job, he came back to our home to give us the paperwork (he charges for labor, and the client purchases the flooring and materials they want – which helps you get a bang for your buck because you eliminate a middle man supplier, and you get more options for flooring because you decide where the materials come from). We looked the paperwork over and hired him to fix the floors in our bathroom.
He came two days later and stayed from 9am til 5pm, with NO breaks and finished our floors. The next day he came over and reinstalled our toilet (because it had to be removed to do the floors) and cleaned everything up.
Maxx is very hardworking, very professional, very detailed, and gave us two different flooring options (the floating and glued down options) for the living room areas/​downstairs so we can pick which one we liked better (one was cheaper than the other).
Another thing I’d like to add is that when he came this morning to finish up, he left without asking for his pay. This is because my Dad was napping and Maxx didn’t want to disturb him to ask for a check payment, he was going to wait and ask for his payment the next day!!! You honestly can’t find people that considerate!!! I was worried he somehow forgot to charge us and called him, he said that he didn’t want to bother my Dad and that it wasn’t a big deal. I’m writing this review while I’m waiting for him to drive back to my house so I can pay him for his wonderful work! (Pictures will come soon).
If you need flooring done, PLEASE consider Maxx… his prices are amazing (I paid a little over 400−−466 to be exact– dollars to get my bathroom floors done – a 34sq room.) Another contractor that came wanted to charge us 1600 dollars! (the 1600 is including the tiles and supplies, see… darn that extra middle man costs!) I bought my supplies from The Home Depot and paid 103 dollars. My total to get new floors for my bathroom was $ 566. Sears also came to my house to give me an estimate and they wanted to charge me $ 2300 for my TINY bathroom! Once again, that price included labor and supplies.
He does not charge to come and measure. You have nothing to lose by considering him to do your floors.
