Grimm & Begley Construction

Grimm and Begley came out in December to give us a quote on a condo that we were thinking about buying they quoted us a price and then we bought the house on what they promised the price to be for a complete remodel after purchasing the house Mr. Graham stated that he way under bided and the bid was going to be double of what he originally stated. We asked for references and never received any!
These guys convinced us we should buy this house then after we bought they doubled there price. Also seem to sub out the majority of there work after two weeks of the subs coming in and out to give bids my wife and I had enough. Save yourself the frustration.

I really can’t say how good these guys are since I never did get them to do any work for me. They may be the best contractors in the world, I wouldn’t know.
When I first called, they were very responsive and called back quickly. Even replied to emails fast and I was able to use a shared folder in DropBox to show pictures of my problem.
Then they stopped returning calls and emails in what I consider a reasonable time. Over time I found the best I could get is one communication per day. I got one reply saying they were really busy and that’s why they didn’t reply to several emails and phone calls that day. The last email I sent was to ask when they were available to do the work, and they never replied.
I have worked with other contractors and they always seem to be on the phone, interrupting conversations to take a call. I used to be annoyed at that, but quickly realized they get phone calls because they are in demand, and that’s usually a good sign.

There was an issue about a shower door and the problem was resolved to my satisfaction. Good contractors are hard to find. I recommend these guys. Additionally, they show up on time and do what they say they are going to do. The work they did for me was flooring, bathroom stalls replacement, cabinet painting, kitchen under sink wall repair, osmosis system install, water line and valve replacement.

Craig and Skip Recently did a Major renovation on our home. These guys really know what they are doing. They helped us conceptualize what we really wanted to do with our kitchen and living areas and the result was exactly what we had hoped for.
The refreshing thing about these guys is that they really cared about us being happy with the end result and they are both really nice people. They are both from the area and seem to have deep roots here. They seem to know everyone in town and were able to point me to some other excellent businesses in the community.

My wife and I rent a condo and originally contacted Grimm & Begley for some repair work about 2 years ago. We found their initial quote very reasonably priced and appreciated their professional demeanor. At the time, we chose to go with a different contractor and the results were not good. Fast forward to last month when more repair work was needed, and we decided this time we’d go with Grimm & Begley because they had left such a good impression last time. They did not disappoint.
Craig went over all of my needs with me and delivered a reasonable quote. He was always willing to be flexible based on our changing needs. Always responsive and communicative, they were always on top of things. Personally, I always feel the mark of a truly great contractor is how they respond when you notice a problem with the work. There was a tiny detail overlooked by Craig’s team, and I expected it to be a hassle to get him to fix it (based on my previous experience with the other contractor). But he was polite, understanding, and prompt about resolving the issue. He also managed to work around my busy work schedule.
Additionally, all of the finished work was top notch. I appreciated that they provided modern communication and payment options. We often primarily communicated through email and payment via PayPal kept things simple. I have confidence that if I use their services in the future, I can always count on a job well done.
Consequently, Grimm & Begley will be my first call whenever I have need for any general contract work.

We moved to unincorporated Vacaville last September. Our realtor recommended Grimm and Begley to redo our kitchen when I asked for a referral.
These guys do fantastic work. Our very dated 1980 kitchen has been transformed into a new beautiful space. These guys had to bore through a concrete slab floor to get power to a center island. They had to improvise all throughout the project as the entire kitchen was ripped out. The finish work on the joints on the trim on the cabinets is really nicely done. Craig and Skip are meticulous at getting things done correctly. The tile work on the backsplash required lots of cutting and it also looks fantastic. The entire kitchen looks like photo from a magazine and overall effect is amazing. I had a lot of fun getting to know these guys during the course of this project and we are now talking about more tile work and a project in our garage.
If I could only afford to retain their services indefinitely and have them at my disposal every day for projects, they would never be allowed to leave this property except for dental appointments and perhaps funerals.

I have worked with Craig Grimm on several projects. He is very professional and reliable. He does quality work with an attention to detail. He is very reasonable whether you are doing a small subfloor repair, fixing a door, or a full kitchen remodel. I have even used him as a sub on some my jobs. Good knowledgeable and honest contractors are hard to find and you just found one; consider yourself lucky. Don’t use some fly by night unlicensed uninsured wanna be contractor and create a nightmare for yourself. Use Craig Grimm and you won’t be disappointed. I am a general contractor and flooring contractor myself and I am called in all the time to clean up somebody else’s mess. I don’t give reviews carelessly but I can very strongly and confidently recommend this company.

I would definitely recommend them for your next project or remodel. Both are very professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and flexible. We had numerous projects done in our home which included repainting kitchen cabinets, electrical work, dry rot repairs, and a bath remodel which included demo of a below grade tub and install of a new tub/​tile work. We were very satisfied with their work and are glad we used them. We have two small kids and they were friendly with them and were careful as to make sure the areas they worked around were cleaned up at the end of the day or secure when they weren’t there. We had issues with our bank and the City throughout the process and they were more than flexible and willing to work with us and not make the situation more difficult or stressful. Give them a try!
