received a email 6÷3÷15 the strings teacher was fired today with no notice, reasons are unknown its being called a restructure of the program. This was a great teacher with wonderful teaching abilities. loved by all her students and parents. Another program cut that has been around for years. Now we must find a new teacher outside the school per their request as the teacher was lock out of her email account before being let go. Not very christian.

I went to school at Trinity (K-​8^th grade) and I’ve enjoyed being a member here my whole life. It’s a great place to be and I specifically enjoy attending Journey. I highly recommend Trinity as a place to grow in faith alongside a great congregation.

I was raised LCMS, and after moving away from my home church to a new town (Utica), I was looking for a new church to call home. Trinity was one of the first that I visited since it was so close to where I lived. In fact, I visited multiple times. I attended the traditional 9:30 service, as I am not interested in the contemporary style of worship. I always came alone since I have no spouse or children, and the rest of my family attends their own churches in other towns.
To be honest, I felt really let-​down and finally stopped coming. I was never approached by anyone for any kind of greeting or welcome, apart from a «good morning» that I heard from the man handing out bulletins. I always take it into account that the bigger the church is, the less likely anyone will approach me since it’s easier to «blend in» with the masses. However, I attended several times with the same results. I did not feel comfortable approaching anyone to speak with them since I knew absolutely nobody.
Also, the pastor’s style of preaching wasn’t exactly what I needed. I just couldn’t get into his sermons. I am sure he is well-​liked by many, but I found him to be a bit dry.
I also couldn’t find any small groups that I «fit» into, as I am not old, married, or a mom. That is a problem I have at most churches, however. So, my search continues for a church home. I know God will let me know when I’ve found the right one.
