The best sandwich spot in Bethesda. A couple people behind a counter making good food and conversation. If Cheers were a lunch counter, this would be it. Bring a paper, grab some food. make some friends

Unilocal wasn’t around in 2007(to my knowledge) when a disturbing incident occurred. Therefore, I didn’t know how or have the means to PUTTHEMONBLAST when it happened. I walked into the front door. A cook was standing in front of a manager where everybody can see them, their profiles facing me, had his finger-almost 2nd knuckle deep-shoved up his nose. Digging. When they noticed I was looking at them, the manager told this COOK to wash his hands. I couldn’t make this up. If thats who you want serving your food– be my guest.

My husband turned me on to them. He tends to like hole in the wall dives. Normally they are really good but this place has horrible Chinese food. The service is ok but I feel so unsafe going there. They take your order from behind this bullet proof looking glass and there is always some type of rifraft hanging around. The American food is ok. Good burgers for cheap. I only frequent this place because they are the only place open late around here were you can grab something quick.

Honestly, avoid if possible. They serve both Chinese food and some American food(chicken wings and subs) but neither one is done well. The subs aren’t good at all, the chicken wings are overcooked, the chinese food is greasy and some of it doesnt taste like what its supposed to. For instance, the chicken in the chicken fried rice tastes like some other form of meat, not chicken. The chicken nuggets they sell taste like refried McDonald’s nuggets and the lo mein is more vegetable than noodle. The only half way decent things they offer are french fries, the egg drop soup is quite good, and if you are feeling like a delicious completely unhealthy treat they offer amazing steak and cheese egg rolls. Also another big beef i have with them is that they dont deliver… at all. With the amount of houses and businesses around them you would think that they would offer some form of delivery to increase their business. The food is bad but i’d probably order more if it kept me from having to leave my house.
