Maid New

My first service is scheduled for this Friday so this review is based solely on a conversation I had with Lekia. I will update this on Friday to provide a review of the actual cleaning service.
The main point I want to make is that I am very pleased with how Lekia handled a miscommunication regarding scheduling. I was not very nice on the phone and she was very calm and focused on reaching a solution. I appreciated how she handled a very difficult client (me). I am hopeful the cleaning service will be just as professional and thorough.

I am very happy with the cleaning service I received this morning. There were three ladies who arrived just a few mins after 9 am. They were very personable and I instantly felt comfortable with them in my home. I paid extra and scheduled a deep clean for the main floor. We have a finished basement but I did not include that in this appointment. After a brief tour (my house is on the smaller side) I headed to the game room (basement) to get out of the way. Three hours later (just a little after noon) they were finished.
When I came upstairs I was instantly hit with the smell of clean. They did an excellent job on my hard wood floors. The counters were spotless. They arranged everything very neatly. I do not have a cluttered home — the main floor is very modern and a clutter free zone (the kids zone is the basement — that is another story) so there was not a lot for them to move in order to dust. But I appreciated the careful way they arranged the pillows on the sofa and other little items.
We have two dogs — so they had to contend with an extraordinary amount of dog hair all over the place.
It is hard to tell how much was a result of the extra I paid for the deep clean vs the regular clean — but I am happy and I will be scheduling them to return on a regular basis.

This is now becoming ridiculously hilarious. DO NOT USE MAID NEW!!! Some context: First, Maid New wrote a response saying that they stayed an extra 30 minutes without charge (lie– she had previously told me she left prior to completing the jobs because her parking had expired). Then, the response was that they stayed an additional 15 minutes for an additional charge (also a lie). Next, she edited the response to apologize and offered to come back and finish the cleaning job. Now, she has rescinded this offer to complete the work and is saying that my husband did something she can’t mention on-​line and that is why she left early without finishing the job. My husband is the nicest, friendliest middle school teacher ever. I’m not sure what she is trying to insinuate but this has just become hysterical, bordering on crazy. These are the stories I have heard so far: I needed a deep clean, her parking was going to run out, she actually did finish the job, and now, apparently because of my allegedly «dangerous» husband who was safe enough for her to stay for an hour in my place with, but too dangerous to finish the job.
It seems as if lying is this company’s MO. See the post from 2÷18÷2016:

Here are my initial responses to her ever-​changing replies:
Response to the response: You admitted on the phone that you rushed the job because parking was limited to two hours, and my husband reported that you had left by 4:30. You obviously did not stay extra time, and you did not complete the work. Worse than being an ineffective cleaner: being dishonest.
Response to update: First you said 30 minutes, then you said 15 minutes to provide an additional service for which there was an additional charge — neither of which was true. To potential customers: beware of the lack of integrity of Maid New.
Agree with the poster on 2÷18÷2016: had much much better for much less money. I called to give that feedback and spoke with the person who cleaned my place. She was very very defensive and reported that she had cleaned places that I was looking directly at that had clearly not been cleaned. Their website mentions a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee: «We do our best to meet or exceed your expectations. If you’re not satisfied with the job we did, please notify us within 24 hours of service completion, and we’ll return and complete the job to your satisfaction.» When I called, I was given a list of excuses (parking was about to run out, etc.) around why the job was rushed, but no offer to finish the job. Will not use again.

I have been using Maid New for monthly cleanings for almost 6 months and they have always done a great job. The on-​line booking and information make for straightforward pricing, services and booking. If I need a more personal level of service my inquiries are always answered in a timely manner. I love being able to book and pay on-​line. It is a well run and organized operation with warm and friendly housekeepers that work hard to ensure you are satisfied.

I had Maid New come in to my apartment a couple weeks after moving in to a new place. A move out cleaning had been done previously, but stains remained on the kitchen counter tops and there were some areas that had grime that the owner told me would not come out.
My cleaner let me know when she ran a little late due to traffic, which was no problem, and did an AMAZING job. She was great with my dog and those stains I was told were permanent? Not so. My counters look fantastic, as does the rest of my place. I’m really happy I used Maid New and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

I have been using Maid Née for I believe almost a year. They do such a great job with cleaning and I have had no complaints with them. Very accommodating with flexibility of time since I am active duty. Always a smile on the ladies face when they come to clean. Definitely recommend to other friends and family. Thank you so much.

The following statement from the owner is a bold-​faced lie: «Our cleaners arrived a little before 3PM and were refused entry. While it is against our policy to refund gift cards, in this case, we offered a full refund.»
I did not call until after 3pm, when the cleaning window closed. No team arrived to be refused entry. And as of the time of this writing, we have not been offered a refund on the original purchase of this gift card, which is what I requested. There’s no need for a gift card, as I will not be attempting to rebook with Maid New.

I am so, so disappointed with Maid New and their customer service.
I received a gift card for Maid New and attempted to schedule my first appointment online. The appointment was rescheduled by the company due to my «using a discount code,» something that initially irritated me because this was a gift, not a coupon. As the company-​scheduled date did not work for our family, I rescheduled to a more suitable time two weeks out.
We ran into a conflict with the newly-​scheduled date (I believe the third date), which I rescheduled as soon as I could for a date a week and a half later, or nearly a month after my first attempt to schedule.
The cleaning team did not arrive during the scheduled cleaning time. I received no notification of when – or if – the team would arrive.
When the cleaning window closed, I called the customer service line to request a refund on the gift card. Instead, I was treated to a long explanation of why our home was rescheduled, why we were slotted for the end of the day, and that they would not refund our initial purchase. Speaking with a manager did not resolve the issue; I was already speaking with her.
If you are looking for a service that can help you with keeping your home clean, I do not recommend Maid New. I cannot speak to the actual quality of the team, as they would have to be able to get to my home first.

Lekia and her team are amazing! This was the first time we’ve ever had professionals come in and clean, and after Maid New’s work, it definitely won’t be the last. Setting up the appointment online was a breeze, and I communicated with Lekia via email with some concerns regarding our house, and she offered a variety of cleaning options to ensure our needs were met. SO helpful! Of course I was mortified by the state of our house when they first arrived, but the team was delightful and did a fantastic job. Might have to convince my roommates to make this a regular thing :)

We ran into a slight issue due to emailing, which lead me to cancel and then re-​request the service all within an 45 min to an hour, they were accommodating. I have not been home since the cleaning, still at work, but my sister says they did a really good job. I’m more picky than she is (evil grin) so I’ll add the fifth and final star when I get home tonight! Booking was a breeze they offer discounts fro first time services which is a plus.
UPDATE:
So I came home and I could’ve done a better job just quickly running through my house with a vaccum and making my bed. The stove was cleaned with some shine product. Particles were still left on the stove of which I wasn’t to upset about. What bothered me was the fact that behind my toilet still had light stains that proved that it hadn’t been touched! None of my dressers where wiped down! I’ve had better service for a cheaper price, even though after all their discounts it became cheaper than my usual service!
They emailed me telling me we can come back out to touch the spots we missed! I am thinking the email should’ve stated «when can we come back to fix the spots we missed», considering their guarantee. It was the choice of words that most bothered me and I chose not to respond or render their service anymore!

I purchased a living social deal for Maid new cleaning and I could not be more impressed… Nokia, the owner came and did an amazing job! My house really does look new again! I was totally happy with the extent of cleaning, Nokia’s sweet, friendly personality and attention to detail. I will definitely call again.

Maid New just left my home. This was my first cleaning. Overall the cleaning crew did a pretty good job. I have small children and they did a good job organizing clutter. The staff was friendly and very professional. I had a few spots noted for touch up but that is usually the case when you are cleaning a home for the first time. The price was reasonable and competitive as well. I have several friends looking for a home cleaning service and I will most likely recommend Maid New to them.

I have been using MAID NEW for almost a year now. MAID NEW provides great. well priced service and a very thorough cleaning. The owner, Lekia, is very responsive and customer focused. I have used many cleaning services in DC and this is by far the best.

I have been using Maid New for a few months now and was referred by a colleague after I had some nightmare visits from a previous company — Handybook (now called Handy, I think). For my first time, I purchased a «deep cleaning» and there were things that I didn’t know could be cleaned, that were cleaned. At one point I looked over at a bookshelf and noticed that my DVDs had been put in order, by title, BY SEASON. Sometimes they will take down the items from my drying rack and make the most precisely neat folds in my yoga pants and nonshrinkable shirts… it’s truly incredible.
The attention to detail of Lekia and her staff is some of the best I have ever seen. I got my mom a cleaning for her birthday back in October, and she is STILL raving about the thorough job that Lekia and her team did on the 4 bedroom house — ceiling fans and all. Lekia is more than accommodating and I look forward to my every other week cleaning as a special treat to come home to. Thank you for your consistency and for being wonderful! Worth. Every. Penny.

I have been using Maid New for at least 6 months (maybe longer?) and they are the best. I had been using Maids in Black which was good but inconsistent and did not go as deep as I would like. A friend recommended Lekia and I now have the team in every other week.
There have been weeks where a suitcase is dumped out on the floor and they put things to rights and some weeks I’ve been fairly tidy and they get to go further in organization. Each time they are reliable, thorough and I’m very happy to come home to such a clean apartment. It is worth every penny.
Plus they seem to do a little bit or additional organizing every time, like under the kitchen sink.
I have referred the service several times and always to rave reviews. Maid New is the Best!

I have been using Maid New for a little more than six months and I am so satisfied. A few of the previous reviews mention this but I have to emphasize this point — the personal touch is what sets Maid New apart from other companies. The owner, Lekia, always tries her best to accommodate my requests. I am probably a nightmare client because I request cleans with very short notice. Sometimes she can do it and at other times she is booked solid.
Her and her team organized my walk-​in closet. All I had to do was purchase what she recommended. My closet is still organized based on her original system. It doesn’t always stay neat but the system is there. Plus she makes it look neat when she does a cleaning.
I was sold after my first cleaning with her. My guest bedroom had pictures, papers, and other random items all over the place. Lekia and her team nearly organized the books, pictures, and papers. My framed photos are now on display in places where they belong.
I’m usually not there when cleanings are done and she is usually gone by the time I get home but when I walk in my house after the Maid New team has been there, I feel so relieved. It is a great feeling!

I’ve been using Maid New’s service for about six months and am happy with their work. The first cleaning I had was a deep cleaning by Lekia and her staff and it was great. They were even able to scrub some old grout off of our bathroom tile that we had not been able to remove-​nice! After the initial deep cleaning, we opted for monthly service and it has been going well. Every time the crew comes, they do a thorough job of cleaning and straightening up, all while having the distraction of cats and kids sometimes running around and/​or napping. While it is not important in the cleaning work, it is so nice to have people coming to your home to clean who seem to actually care about your family. Thanks Lekia and company!

I’ve used Maid New since near its beginning and have never, ever been happier with a cleaning service! They use high-​quality cleaning products and leave the house absolutely spotless. They are very thorough and totally reliable. Can’t recommend highly enough!
