Golden Eagle Moving Services

I had a friend recommend United (Golden Eagle) for my relocation from CA to OH. From the initial web request for an estimate, to the delivery of my goods in OH, the process was seamless. Everything was explained thoroughly and the movers who picked up and delivered were hardworking, courteous, and professional. Bob Johnson (manager) and Mike Brunet (sales) are excellent points of contact.

I want to be clear that the driver and packers did a great job. All our stuff arrived here undamaged and all of it arrived. Everything was packed well etc. The driver was here quickly as well.
Here is where the issue lies. The customer services reps and operations manager are horrible. They are a group of ignorant people who like to threaten you when you ask a question or make a demand on something specific. They refuse to answer contractual questions they are obligated to answer. You have to threaten police or lawsuit action to get them to do their job or as is the case in our situation. I will not recommend Golden Eagle to anyone and have filled a complaint with United Van Lines.

I moved from California to the Canary Islands a few years ago & this company is by far the absolute best experience I’ve had in moving. Nothing was broken, nothing was missing and the service by everyone was so courteous, caring & most professional. I have since moved from the islands & have had to use other moving companies — but Golden Eagle truly spoiled me, as I cannot rave about any one else other than Mr. Robert Johnson & his staff. Forever grateful! Thank You!!!

So we wanted to find a moving company that was local, that was reasonable and experienced.
Our experience started with them wanting to charge us $ 25.00 for gas… we were moving to the other side of the same apartment complex. So, yeah… we had to call them and explain this to the person in the office.
Next, we had to deal with a good mover and a bad mover. One guy was young, energetic and seemed to actually care about our things. The other guy, was apathetic, smart ass, lazy, and was condescending in his demeanor and his language with my wife.
Third, they damaged a few things and tried to hide it, then acted like they didn’t do it. Funny thing is, they were the ones moving our stuff… it wasn’t broken before! It was actually brand new, and had only been used once…
Regardless, the one mover that helped us (the younger one) he was great, the other guy (older) was an asshole and he is really hurting the company. We marked all of the furniture with blue painters tape, with the name of the room each piece was to go… they screwed that up too.
Overall, I would choose another company, and make sure the movers are people that give a damn about your possessions.

United Van Lines and Golden eagle moving are by far, the WORST two companies I have ever dealt with.
I hired United Van Lines to move us from California to Oregon. Although I purchased the more expensive insurance, the movers were irritated that I insisted we itemize my property. If we didn’t itemize our property, the insurance would be null and void. The movers were forced to document any pre-​existing damage.
When our property was delivered, they had to use a staging area and shuttle van to deliver our property. Upon delivery, the movers were again irritated that I required we itemize my property. Again, If I did not itemize the arriving delivery, the insurance would be voided. During the delivery, we found that several of our items were damaged. We also found that when they itemized our property and documented the pre-​existing damage, the documented damage was not located. I believe this is a fraudulent method to list damage to protect against insurance claims. We also found that the movers had left our personal property at the staging area while failing to notify us. As a result of this damage, I filed a claim. As of today, our property has not been either repaired properly and they keep denying the claim on several of the items. As a result, I requested to go to arbitration. I’m still waiting as this claim continues to be unanswered…

These movers were great! Polite, efficient, careful and took care to pack up my last minute items. Before I knew it, everything was in the truck! I was happy with my last moving company that I had used twice before, but when I called to schedule, they were too booked to help. I asked them to recommend a reputable company, and they gave me Golden Eagle’s number. I highly recommend these movers.

Absolute worst moving experience ever! These guys took their time and worked extra slow in order to rack up more time. They scratched the entire front of $ 5000 refrigerator then tried to deny they did it. When I called the company they admitted to doing the damage. There was no apology or anything. The owner said the best he could was to knock $ 100 off the bill. I regret using this company and will never do business with them again.

Had to find movers last minute and couldn’t find anyone to do it or for any reasonable prices. They showed up right on time, and they were very nice. Wanyne Carr & Jake Watson were our movers. They were really nice and super helpful because we weren’t completely situated when they got there. They were patient with us, but still moved all our stuff in a timely manner. The prices were reasonable and the service was exceptional. And with this being a last minute move, you guys have no idea how much your services are appreciated! Thanks again guys!

This is the third time a family member of mine has used Golden Eagle. They’re repeatedly great and conscientious. They handled all of my belongings with care and didn’t cut corners. I appreciated their extra care moving my items into storage as they took extra precautions to buffer items so that they didn’t rub and scratch each other. They were honest and time efficient too!

Excellent service from Golden Eagle. All the staff from the initial contact to the guys on the job were very courteous. On-​time, hard-​working and experienced. Made our move as easy as they could.

I recently completed a two-​stage move with Golden Eagle and I was very pleased with their service, care, promptness, and patience. Art and Richard should be commended as employees. I intend to use Golden Eagle in the future.

I give Tom Redding & his movers 5 Stars! Moved an 8 hour drive away from an Upland, Ca condo to an apartment in Rohnert Park, Ca (3^rd floor apartment WITHOUT an elevator) and Tom and his guys were excellent. Tom is an experienced driver and can parallel park his big rig like a true magician. He was timely as were his guys. All well natured guys with great customer service. Thank you for making our move stress free! I recommend these guys as we are extremely happy with the service provided.

Be careful what you sign with these people. They broke my dining table (glass) and said oh sorry we can reimburse you by the weight. They tried to give me 120 $ check for a $ 1500 table. They say «well you signed it». Never again!

I have some furnitures that I need to rearrange their location in house. I found Golden Eagle on Unilocal and called them and they helped me moving and only charge 2 hrs minimum. All other charge 4 hrs minimum. They finish in 30 mins, it was quick and nice done. Thank you again

Across the board, I had a great experience with this company. When I called initially, I was provided with a lot of details on the moving services they provide (wrapping furniture, providing wardrobe boxes, etc…). I called around a few other places and received quotes that were lower, but I decided to go with Golden Eagle because it sounded like a great company. My movers this morning were really wonderful people. They worked at a steady pace and took care when moving large items. I very happy I decided to go with Golden Eagle.

We had to move our aunt from New Jersey, quite urgently, to assisted living in Upland, CA. We received referral from the assisted living (Oakmont). After being put in contact with Julie at Golden Eagle, our worries were over! She called all the necessary people in New Jersey and less than 3 weeks later everything was assessed, packed, loaded and delivered to two different stops in CA. (I also would like to compliment Bohrens in New Jersey who pack and loaded items.) The parent company is United Van Lines so I assume they provided drivers. The trucks were clean and up to date.
After being all arranged by Julie, Golden Eagle (s) Wayne and Jerry were assigned to deliver to the two stops in CA. Just these two, working together, unloaded at both locations in such a fast, organized and friendly manner. I can not emphasize the FRIENDLY part. These are two the friendliest, sincere people I have met in any business. There were many fragile items in the load. The only thing that broke was a saucer that was already seen its days!

This company is amazing! They have moved me twice. I always ask for Shawn, Jake and Jerry. These guys are total pro’s! Not one piece of furniture was damaged ever. I have moved across the US twice and moved my belongings about 10 times and have never experienced this kind of top notch service from a mover! This company is the only one I call. Shawn, Jake and Jerry deserve a raise — sure hope the owner realizes how lucky they are to have them. Any employer would give anything to have these 3 guys working for them. They speak volumes for this company. So professional and also incredibly sincere. So impressed!!!

I’ve used Golden Eagle three times since 2002 to move. I loved the company so much I recommended them to my mom and she used them twice. I also recommended them to my boss when he sold his house. He used them for moving and storage twice and was quite pleased.
Why the 2 stars? Glad you asked. This last move was in 2010. A relative recently moved in with me so a bed was moved out of the guest room. I also bought a larger bed and gave my old one away. I could not believe it when I saw that the movers had taken the bed rail brackets and had packing tape holding them together! Three beds! I always place hardware in baggies and tape them to the item so they don’t get separated. That was purposeful that they stole the brackets off every last bed in my home. I was aware that the movers broke every last glass on all my custom wall art frames. Over 15! I called at the time and office staff was very concerned about it. I can’t remember who I spoke to, but she told me to file a claim which she emailed. The file wouldn’t open. I called several times and never got another email. I gave up when I realized I would only get pennies for my broken frames. Some were over $ 200 custom framing jobs. Who would have thought to check the bed rails?!? How do you report that 4 years later. I am shocked that the frames never fell apart.
I also had lots of missing items. The movers loaded the truck and decided to take lunch with all my things on the truck. How stupid was I? Little things like all my brooms were immediately missed. Other things I was like, «Hey whatever happened to???» I almost forgot. One of the guys was real sick. Like the flu or something so he was slower than molasses going uphill in January. He just kept coughing and could barely breathe. This cost me a hell of a lot more money. I felt bad reporting the broken stuff and how much additional time it took because he was so pitiful.
I am looking to move one more time in June. This time storing most of my stuff. I came here to see how the company was doing since I had such good experiences before this last move. Looks like the reviews are hit and miss. I see broken custom art frames and missing bed rails. Yikes! Just don’t know who to trust. Office staff is AWESOME! I just remember the name, Barbara.

Great staff and crews. We moved from South Pasadena to Portland and nothing was damaged. The driver and movers showed up on time and were great on both ends. Their in home estimate was very close, I even got some cash back after the weigh in.

This time I used Golden Eagle to coordinate a move from Rancho Cucamonga, CA to New Orleans, LA. The move went smoothly, and the driver/​packer/​mover, Adrienne was the absolute best. He handled my goods as if they were his own. He loaded them onto his truck, he drove the truck, and he unloaded them off the truck.
The local office staff were helpful with questions I had and patient with my never-​ending purchase of boxes that I packed myself.
This is the third cross-​country move I have made, and it is the first cross-​country move that nothing has been damaged or missing. Thanks Golden Eagle and thanks Adrienne!!!
