SpeeDee Oil Change & Auto Service

Staff is efficient, courteous, friendly and helpful. Service is well, speedy. I have been using this location for over 15 years with consistent results. I have a luxury foreign sports car and I trust these guys more than the dealer to do oil changes and inspections.

My experience was very positive! I need an inspection and knew needed a brake job too. Henry (who was/​is great!!) gave me an estimate for the brake repairs. I wasn’t sure about the price and being right in the middle of University Park wasn’t sure the price would be on the high side. I checked them out… not a better price in town. One persons I called told me to TURN around NOW and go back that I was not going to find a better price anywhere. Henry made some other recommendation, same thing all very fairly priced. I will always give them the first chance on any repair I need and always go back to get my inspection there. I was there for several hours, but not longer than they told me I would be, and got to watch several interactions with many customers. Everyone was very attentive and professional. I could also see they had repeat business/​customers.

Only reason why I’m giving this place more than one star is because the manager Jerry is very precessional and he will take care of you if you ask.
I was told my oil change would take 30 min and ended up taking and hour and 15. He was very customer service oriented and gave me a discount for waiting around all day for a simple oil change.
But I do agree with others on here saying that they over price, that is 100% true.
I finally called around and price shopped for what I was needing done and I found a company that does the maintenance for a better price and this company that I called, I won’t name names, also backs their work since I have gotten other maintenance done there. Probably will only ever go to speeDee for oil changes. Other than that going else where…

Was desperate for an oil change and inspection and stopped in here. Very over priced and noticed later that they WAAAAYYYY overinflated my tires. Hopefully that’s not the only thing that they got wrong.

Like other reviewers, I had used this location for oil changes and inspections for many years. Never again. It now appears to have changed hands and has turned into nothing but a scam operation run by some shady characters, where the only objective appears to be to up-​sell you unneeded parts and services. On my last several visits I have been told I needed extra parts and services which I knew were not needed. Perhaps they can stay open by scamming the SMU kids, but they will never have my business again. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.

When I drove up and rolled down my window I was met by an employee (wearing a Garland police jacket) who seemed as excited to see me as a guy on the receiving end of a wet willie. He truly made an effort to show that he held me in contempt for simply showing up. After he just stared at me, I asked for an oil change — he grunted «leave your keys» and then walked off. I had to chase him to ask how long it would take. This guy should probably consider being a prison guard rather than dealing with customers. The time to complete the job was actually fairly fast — they called my cell phone and told me that I needed a lot more factory maintenance work, which I declined. I asked them to please check the air in my tires. Upon getting into my car found that they had filled each one of my tires to 37 pounds, when the recommended pressure is only 32… so demeaning customer service, attempted upsell and negligence in filling my tires completes my absolutely last visit to this place…

There is nothing «speedee» about this location. I was told it would take an hour to get an oil change when there was a single car in the shop! On top of that, the customer service is absolutely nonexistent. It took the guy severa minutes just to acknowledge me because he was too busy eating his breakfast. They consistently attempt to up-​sell the customer (especially if they look like a little naïve girl-​like me) on unnecessary parts and services. I would NOT RECOMMEND them to anyone!

I got my oil changed here. they didn’t reset the car so it still is reminding me to get an oil change when I just got one. They put the mileage that is on my car on the sticker, not the mileage that I will have when I’m due for a new oil change. Not cheap at all I would have rather done it myself honestly. Oh but they did tell me all the other things I need to get done to my car. Ya not going to get them done somewhere you do a half ass oil change at hello!

I used this place for an oil change i needed on a Sunday. Never again.
They replaced my oil and air filter but did not reattach the VSV valve– something that could cause car to «shut down» spontaneously and other dangerous problems.
They fixed that but said i needed my break pads changed– I still gave them a second chance however they didn’t re-​attach the calipers on my front wheel after changing the break pads.
Sloppy is forgivable but sloppy to the point of dangerous negligence is not! If you have the slightest choice in auto service shops, please don’t use them.

I don’t have an issue with the company. I have always gone to SpeeDee for my oil changes. The usual location I have been going to is now way too far from where I live and work, so I found myself going to this location on Snider Plaza. The location is convenient since it’s in between my work and home. Unfortunately, that’s the ONLY good thing about it, and it’s not even that good since it’s a very small crowded area.
Here’s a list of things I did not enjoy about my visit:
1. When I pulled up and opened my door, I asked the technician for my oil changed. He huffed out a loud sigh, as if this was more of a chore than his job, and said, «Fine.»
2. He made it VERY clear, almost going out of his way to do so, that it would take 1 hour AT LEAST. There was only two cars ahead of me, and one of them were on it’s way out. Later I saw he was just lounging around talking to the other technicians, before even looking at my car. The other place would have taken 10 minutes.
3. Their prices are really high, and their excuse is because of the location. This is a big company and it’s every where. Wouldn’t the prices be arranged by the company and not by the location?
4. They were telling me all the things I needed to get done on my car, and giving me a price and telling me they will go ahead and do it. «Oh yeah, and it’ll be $ 400.» All I asked for was an oil change and I did not give the okay to do anything else. When I denied the offer, he threw the clip board down on the counter and walked off without a response.
Horrible employees with horrible work ethics and attitudes, horrible time management, and all they want is to scam and take your money.
If I could rate this a no star, I definitely would.

My experience is almost exactly the same as Steve! I feel ya! I ended up falling for the scam and doing it to find out many people never get it done until MAYBE after 100,00+ miles (Maybe). I only give it two stars because it is quick and convenient for an oil change. I have learned my lesson. Read your manual!

This place has caused me more hassle than it’s worth! They’ve neglected to secure the panel below my car after an oil change, properly replace my coolant cap, etc. All items have cost me additional money & time to replace/​repair! My windshield & back window look worse after they’ve «cleaned» them!!! The staff is nice enough, but not the most skilled or thorough! I’ll be taking my business elsewhere!

I’ve been here twice and both times, I was out of there within 20 minutes. Including state inspection.
Print out the $ 5 coupon (google search).
Don’t forget, it’s not cheap. If you use full synthetic, and drive a «nice» car. you WILL spend $ 65+
