In 1989 Cortez Foot and Ankle Specialists had the first podiatric surgical center in the state of Florida. A second story was added to accommodate the surgical suite. Today we have 7 doctors, all board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.

Cortez Foot & Ankle Specialists, P.A. originally opened in 1975 in Bradenton as Cortez Podiatry with 2 doctors, Ladd & Katz, DPM. Now open in 3 locations, Bradenton, Parrish/​Ellenton, and University Park with 7 podiatrists serving Manatee and Sarasota county residents and visitors.

Dr. Katz, R.

Business Owner

Dr. Robert Katz graduated from the University of Florida and the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. During his surgical residency at Maryland General and Bön Secours Hospital in Baltimore, MD, Dr. Katz rotated through affiliates of Johns Hopkins University. He received his M.B.A. from University of South Florida in May 2001.

Dr. Katz joined Cortez Foot and Ankle Specialists in 1991. He has remained highly active in the medical community and is a Past President of the Florida Podiatric Medical Association. He has a special interest in the electronic healthcare record and is very involved in digital changes within our practice. In his spare time, Dr. Katz enjoys spending time with his wife and four children in addition to training for Olympic Distance triathlons.
