This pizza is very good. It is a bit thicker than imos, but still thin crust. The toppings are plentiful, the pepperoni and green pepper combination is excellent. The cheese is tasty and a good mozzarella mix I assume. I also got the hot wings, they were better than average. Not a destination for anything but the pizza, which is phenomenal. Eat in or carry out, the restaurant is clean and kid friendly. The service is quick and attentive.

This was a nice place to grab lunch. I’ve had Fortel’s before, but this was a little better than I’d come to expect. They were very clean, friendly, and I really liked the lunch specials they have. Small pizza and salad special was good to get a quick bite and go. I like it! Would recommend if you’re in the area.

I love Fortels! I’ve had delivery at this one twice and they are pretty fast. I didn’t care for the buffalo chicken pizza. I thought the chicken was dry. Maybe they should use chicken from a rotisserie. The pepperoni and green pepper is to die for. Fresh ingredients for sure! I love their house salad and dressing. I always add a salad onto my order. The cheese garlic bread, jalapeños bites and onion strays are all great apps.

My family loves Fortel’s! We like the salads, the appetizers and the awesome fresh pizza! It is a great place for small group gatherings too. The staff is always friendly and they have two large tv’s and a couple of video games for the kiddos.

I’m not a big fan of St Louis Styled pizza at all. However I am a fan of Fortel’s and they make STL styled pizza. Did I confuse you? Ok here’s my biggest gripe about STL styled pizza: although it can be delicious pizza, its 1. Expensive for Pizza 2. It’s so thin that I’m still hungry even after I eat a whole extra large from Imo’s or Cecil Whitakers When I want pizza… I want Pizza… not a pizza, salad and garlic bread just to get full. Well with Fortel’s, all I needed was the Large pizza(I did get fries but I was so full of half the pizza I didn’t eat them till the next afternoon) Can you say very very very heavy handed with the toppings??? Love it Large CHEESE, CHEESE, CHEESE: 4.5÷5 a little salty but it was great… it came with loads upon loads of Mozzarella, provolone, cheddar, feta, parmesan, romano Fries: 3⁄5 I didn’t even touch these until the next day and they were good I had a groupon so it helped but I would definitely come back without it I know many people love Imo’s and Cecil Whitakers when it comes to STL Styled Pizza, but if you actually want Great STL Styled pizza for your money and that you can actually get full off the pizza alone. then I believe you should definitely select Fotel’s 1st! Overall 4.5÷5

Barebones pizza in a barebones environment. Our anchovy and mushroom pizza was drenched in anchovies and barely edible. The tables near us were left uncleared for nearly an hour. We aren’t going back.

Delicious pizza. I had carry-out because I was near. They have a Ms. Pac Man arcade game! I love that you can take your cups out with you. When I asked for crushed pepper, it was in a neat little container luke salad dressing. I really liked that better than packets. Staff was nice.

Pretty decent Pizza. I’m not the biggest fan of St. Louis Style pizza, but over all pretty good. Much better than Imo’s, and they have a lot of variety on their menu. Will definitely go back. Their pesto pizza sauce is pretty good too.

Fortel’s has delicious thin crust pizza! They are generous with toppings, more than most other places. And they use mozzarella cheese! I order delivery and its always on-time and warm when the driver gets to my house. The only time they’ve ever messed up was when I requested the pizza was cut in triangles, not squares. They accidentally cut it into squares and called to let me know that they were remaking the pizza. It wasn’t that big of a deal, so I told him just to deliver the one with square pieces, but I appreciated the call and that they were going to remake the pizza. Good customer service!

The best Saint Louis-style pizza I have tried. The pizza has a nice, crispy thin crust and plentiful toppings. I also had the toasted ravioli which was really tasty. The staff was friendly and the wait for our food was short. I personally prefer other styles of pizza, but Fortel’s is a short walk from my apartment and the pizza was solid, so I will definitely be back when I need a good, quick meal.

Everyone knows Fortel’s, so when we got a Fortel’s in our neighborhood, the new expectation became that we could bring Fortel’s to every potluck! Not a problem, since everyone likes pizza, but it seems like everyone LOVES Fortel’s! They truly do deliver some of the very best pizza in town — fast, friendly service and really high quality. The U. City location is clean(we haven’t seen the kitchen, but assume the kitchen matches the rest of the place) and the staff is great. The only thing that keeps this from being a five-star review is that Imo’s has thinner crust(but dang, we live FOURBLOCKS from the Maplewood Imo’s and they won’t deliver because we live too far according to their calculations) and Farotto’s pizza is just… well, divine. Fortel’s does St. Louis-style pizza right!

As a St. Louis native, Fortel’s is a great pizza joint that offers fabulous St. Louis-style pizza and salad. Thin crust, mozzarella cheese, and tons of toppings. Tonight I ordered the meat lover’s pizza and a chef’s salad. The meat was seasoned and there was so much meat! Both items were delicious and the delivery guy was 10 minutes early. I have eaten Fortel’s at various locations throughout St. Louis and they all typically provide the same level of quality pizzas. Will definitely order again.

Fortel’s is one of the true Saint Louis originals, Imo’s is not the only game in town in this arena. Jeff’s BBQ chicken deluxe is something everyone should experience. Moist chicken smothered in their delicious BBQ sauce, the warm and downright creamiest cheese you’ve ever had in your life, and those plentiful, sweet carmelized onions all blend together to form a heavy, hearty, addictive pie that will not last long if your pizza companions are anything like mine(and I’m sure they are). They have many other great house special pies but also boast one of the most comprehensive and expansive topping selections you could possibly want and they definitely know what they’re doing when it comes to building a pizza so by all means go custom if the feeling strikes you. Always fresh ingredients and great salads as well, it’s great to see Fortel’s still doing it right after such a long time of cracking out the classics.

Not vegetarian friendly. Found meat on my veggie pizza. ENOUGHSAID! Staff was friendly but at the end of the day if I’m vegetarian who has the expectation of having a vegetarian pizza then that’s what I should get

I went to the location on Forsyth, in Clayton, with a groupon. They have a decent-sounding menu, with lots of choices, and the inside was alright, but I wouldn’t go back and here’s why: Food was kinda disappointing and gross. First, we ordered beer battered mushrooms and a small veggie salad. The salad was okay, lots of fresh veggies, it was a single size serving and we split it between the two of us. The mushrooms were soggy and bland and gross. The inside was mushy and tasted like flour. Do not get these! We got a small BBQ chicken pizza. The crust was thin and crispy, which was okay, but the toppings were kind of gross. It didn’t taste as much like a BBQ chicken as like a buffalo chicken. First I thought they made us the wrong pizza, but buffalo chicken pizza is supposed to come with bleu cheese dipping sauce which we didn’t get, so I guess that was their BBQ. The minimal sauce was tangy but not so great. The chicken was chewy, overcooked. They had a lot of cheese on it — pepper cheese and mozzarella– just a lot of cheese. Overall, it wasn’t very good, nothing compared to Pi’s bbq chicken. Overpriced: Small 10″ pizza, single-serving veggie salad, appetizer, two sodas = almost 30 dollars? Not worth it for the quality. Not worth it for the lack of service, considering that you order at the counter and get your own plates, silverware and drink refills. I wouldn’t recommend it. I wouldn’t go back. If you want a decent local pizza place in Clayton, go to Katie’s or Pi, go to Blind Tiger in nearby Maplewood — the price is very similar and the food is much, much better at any of these places. Or even Pizza Hut/Papa John’s is better!

The pizza was okay, but I really have experienced better. My group arrived at around 7 pm on a Saturday, and the interior was completely devoid of customers. We sat around for a bit before we realized there was no table service and we had to order at the counter. Two large pizzas & the combination platter were enough to satisfy my group. Combination platter — Fried zucchini(good), fried mozzarella(good but tiny), fried mushrooms(mushy and gross actually… why is this listed as a Fortel’s favorite?!), fried onion sticks(good). I thought it was pricey for the amount of food we got, but I don’t remember the price exactly. Italian sausage pizza — Good, but greasy. I dabbed the top of my pizza with a napkin every now and then, but that’s a personal preference. Artichoke & spinach pizza — Also good, less greasy. It tasted fine, and I do like the thinner style of St. Louis pizza. I mean, the food was okay… but now that I’ve tried this place, I probably won’t be going back. Though I hear one of the other locations is better and has table service.

I love, love the lunch special here! Choice of personal 1-topping pizza, toasted ravioli, spaghetti, or mostaciolli. Side salad with choice of dressing or garlic cheese bread. And a drink For only $ 9.72 after tax I like the personal pizza with beef. I usually get sausage, but they use sliced sausage, and I like the crumbled meat topping better. You get a lot of garlic bread if you choose that option, but I like the side salad, also a sizeable portion, with their French dressing. I’m a sucker for their French dressing. And finally unlimited drinks and a plastic take-home cup. What a great deal! Check out the photo!

Aww yeah! Fortel’s is pretty freakin great for many reasons. First off is their pizza crust. It’s thin and crispy, yet can stand up to a bunch of toppings, cheese, and sauce. It’s made fresh every day. For me, it’s ideal. Also, they square cut the pizza, which I appreciate. Gluten-free crust is also available for an extra $ 5. Secondly. they offer BROCCOLI as a topping! I am a huge broccoli on pizza fan, and it is nearly impossible to find this anywhere else in this city. The topping selection is HUGE, and also includes options like eggplant, sauerkraut, spinach, meatballs, and artichoke hearts. Check the online menu for the full list. Thirdly. they really pile on the toppings. I’m a toppings guy so this is a big deal for me. They are evenly distributed on the pizza, and the toppings/sauce/cheese ratio is just perfect. This is fantastic pizza. My order with chicken, broccoli, onions, garlic, and mushrooms really satisfied, and almost felt healthy. Fourthly. They’re having an amazing deal for the month of June — a large w/up to 5 toppings for just 10 bucks! This is like a 50% discount. I am seriously considering making June«Fortels pizza month» by taking advantage of this deal as much as possible. Fifthly — They have a Ms. Pac Man machine in the store. That’s always a huge bonus. I’ve had the house salad in the past and it is also quite excellent. They have 6 locations throughout the city/county so there’s probably one near you. I believe the deal mentioned above is only for the U. City location, however. Fortel’s Pizza — just do it!

This place as of 1÷1÷13(when we went) is only a couple weeks old. It’s right across the street so we decided to try it out. We had the buffalo chicken pizza and order a small pepperoni for the little guy and a house salad and three waters. Total came out to $ 43.00 big ones. The price alone almost made me give this three stars instead of 4 because for a pizza joint and a family of three — that is WAY too much and will likely deter us from coming here as the fam again. Pros that made me change my mind about giving it three stars: They do NOT skimp on the toppings. Tons of chicken on there, tons of cheese coverage, our pizza was yummy and not overcooked or burned anywhere. The little guy didn’t complain about his either.
