Too fast but not furious…
This add on attraction came out almost no where. It seem Universal Studio this day replace all their attraction with 3D. The amount of 3D thing here is just crazy. Don’t they already have King Kong 3D. Anyway since I am fan of Fast & Furious Franchise and is no doubt of the most profit franchise out there. They must do a decent job with this. Unfortunate it wasn’t what I expect and it seem they were rushing making this one.
This is just like King Kong, you goes to a small warehouse cargo to see the movie. However unlike King Kong, there’s no 4D experience such as water splash or shaking. It just basically keep going forward and you see the two screen. The story line take place in 6. The main thing is the chase which was kinda award and look like GCI, basically look half decent job. The story line before the chase is much more interesting. The good thing is that no need to wait a line for this and is added part of the tour.
So the result the tour is longer than ever before, almost a hour that’s not counting waiting the line. I wish they remove some less part since people what they come here is to see the new stuff anyway.

I have been waiting to go on this ride since it opened earlier this year. They did a good job incorporating the storyline of fast and furious within the studio tour tram so there was a transition of reports leading up to the main event.
They utilized projection on screen similar to Kong and it was pretty awesome. I was using the previous, crappy «two dancing ricer vehicles to the song gasolina» as the comparison and I am so glad they got rid of that crappy performance. This is way better and I enjoyed it.

The build up the grand finale of the tram ride is slow and smart but the actual «ride» is too short. The hologram dance sequence and interactions are so realistic, I had to rub my eyes. Smoking hot females but even The Rock, Tyrese, and Michelle Rodriguez look as if they are there in front of you. The chase isn’t very long and you have to twist all over the place because the action is coming from all angles. But compared to the King Kong experince a few minutes earlier, the Supercharged part isn’t as impressive. I wish they would have reversed the ordered of those experiences.

I attended the Universal Studios Hollywood Halloween Horror Nights on Sept 26, 2015. Unfortunately, the Fast and Furious Supercharged thing was part of the Terror Tram ride.
First off, I have not fully seen any of the fast and Furious movies, but that didn’t seem to matter. The tram ride provides with enough exposition to get the feel of what is going on.
The pre-​pre-​ride queue is nice to look at. It is set up as a large garage where the «good guys» work on their vehicles. One complaint about stopping in the garage set — it felt like the tram had driven into an oven. While my tram waited for the preceding tram to finish their «experience», I sweated and wondered what the Fast and Furious had to do with Halloween. If you can answer that, you’re a smarter person than I am.
Pre-​ride queue is probably some of the cheesiest-​shot video I have seen since some cutscenes from early 90’s PC games. The video was terrible and the character dialogue was inane. I got the feeling that all four of the «good guys (Torreto, Hobbs, Letty and Roman) were fulfilling a contract requirement. The performances were wooden and the story was less than intriguing.
Now, onto the main show. I will admit that the pitches, yaws and partials rolls of the tram were well done. I can only imagine the work that the mechanical engineering crew did with the computer crew to pull off the experience. As for the video going on around the tram, I honestly couldn’t follow a lot of it. At times, it seemed a student director’s version of what he/​she thought a Michael Bay movie is supposed to be.
I realize that Supercharged isn’t a first for a motion simulator ride at Universal. Having been on both motion simulator rides at the studio, I prefer King Kong much more. I was very impressed with King Kong, so I know that they have Universal has the appropriate background. However, tremendous technical prowess for the motion simulation cannot overcome sub-​par acting, story and video production that I saw in Supercharged.

Ride or Die? Don’t make me choose… It saddens me to feel this way, I am a huge fan of the franchise. And being a fan, I understand what it is, a collection of seven illogical, unrealistic, fun action movies! The Fast and the Furious is literally Universal’s biggest franchise, and most highest grossing franchise, so shouldn’t it deserve a distinct, timeless attraction that is here to stay?
Unfortunately the cinematic ingredients do not hold a resemblance to the franchise we all know. There seemed to be a big goal to capture a story before we reach our destination of the 360 3D stage. Unfortunately, we are unsure if we should take cheesy moments from «FBI Feeds» warning us of Toretto’s presence, to Roman’s awkward encounter, and Dominic screaming ride or die while jumping off the freeway seriously, because we are not here to see a 2 hour action film on a screen. Is there chessy-​ness in the films? Of course, however we are free to laugh and enjoy in front of the screen, but in this case, we are experiencing this face to face, and our responses are confused, such like watching an untrained actor on live stage.
Within the ride itself, unfortunately the park had already used a wow factor just a few minutes ago for King Kong 360 3-D…so why would there be another attraction waiting for us that is just so similar. However, I felt the «wow» for King Kong with the latest technology, because we were watching a screen of already fictitious creatures… I buy it. Now use that same animation to create «real life» people, cars, and environments, and my emotions and physical reactions were completely confused, because my mind could not adjust to such a fake phenomenon (The films also share ridiculous moments, however we are distracted by cuts and edits, where as watching Dominic jump on a helicopter with unnatural body movement is continuous and uninterrupted.) Now a 360° experience may work, if it really was 360°, but when your perception is cut by fellow passengers on the tram, the quick action on screen can also be easily missed on top of needing to look in multiple directions. After what felt like 15 seconds or so, the simulator comes to an abrupt stop interrupted by F&F signature music. It was a fast ride to an underwhelming and unfortunate finish line. Press videos specially stated «you feel like you are traveling 120mph», I’m sorry, but I certainly did not.
At Universal Studios Hollywood, out of seven of their ride attractions, five of them are completely digital simulations. Universal may be on a smaller property scale compared to its So Cal competitors, so that raises importance to a higher degree of variety.
I feel Universal took a step forward with Transformers, as they realized the difference between a movie screen, and a moving car ride, is the real life third dimension. However, with their latest attraction, they took a step back once again. It’s also saddens me to realize, that riding an attraction in Anaheim based on an animated film about talking cars, would literally give me a higher adrenaline rush.
My biggest issue with Universal Studios Hollywood, is that if you look for advertisements for Fast and The Furious Supercharged, I guarantee you will see a poster that boldly states «NEW RIDE». You will also see video press advertisements that show a generic male and female couple, physically contained in an apparatus with a safety bar, hinting at fast, traveling car or roller coaster… Then upon your arrival at the light board of attraction waiting times, you will see «Studio Tour… Featuring Fast and The Furious Supercharged.» This is not a ride. This is a segment on the Studio Tour, which is technically a bus tram. I feel it is not right for Universal to falsely advertise their latest attraction, and I couldn’t help but feel ripped off and lied to as a customer.
Finally, the last thing I would like to say is, we go to the theaters for a visible experience, we go to a theme park for physical experience. No matter how big a screen is, no matter how many pixels are on it, it is still a wall. And I would like to ask one thing, was this a project that was dedicated to give customers a great, experience? Or a 30 second advertisement to purchase the DVD?

Universal’s newest addition to their 3D arsenal is Fast and Furious — Supercharged. I was a little confused at first because I thought this was it’s own ride but actually turned out to be part of the Studio Tour. I liked King Kong better but this one was still fun to watch.
However, for me, there was a little bit too much going on and I got kind of sick of the 3D after a while. Was a nice break from the sun, though.

This ride has nothing, but technical difficulties and delays. The trams are continually backed up and you waste your time sitting doing nothing, but watch more videos on the screen while you just get annoyed. They need to workout the issues with this ride for it to be enjoyable. What a disappointment.

I like it equal to King Kong. It is a fun animation on the studio tour and is 100 times better than what was there before it. It is a bit overwhelming because there is so much going on, but that makes it more fun to go again.

How this is called a ride is beyond me. Waiting an hour in line and then going through a 40 minute tour to end with this is beyond disappointing. You’re in the tram with 3d glasses that do nothing because the whole 1 minute «ride» looked out of focus. All that money advertising for this and it’s literally the worst part of the park.

THIS IS A SHAM! It isn’t a ride — it is a lame 3D (looks more 2D) experience on the tired old tram. You would think after all the money they spent on advertising that this was a REAL ride that pays homage to the fans of Fast & Furious.

Fun ride! I wasn’t sure what to expect because I did not even realize the ride was a TRAM ride. Anyway, we went on the usual tour and we actually got in to the tram ride pretty quick because we were with someone who works for NBCUniversal — the best part of it was we didn’t have to wait!
As for the ride, towards the end, you pull up to what looks like a warehouse where all of a sudden you will see the FBI agent pop up on the little screens above the trams talking about how we need to hide the tram so they don’t find us etc. Pretty exciting!
I don’t want to spoil the ride for anyone, but it was a pretty fun ride and the 3D effects were pretty awesome. I loved how it had the special effects such as the smoke and water effects happening.
I hope they come out with some type of ride where we can race cars or something. That would be epic. Try the ride out! It is well worth your time!

Loved it! As a pass holder, I got to preview the newest addition (to-​be) on the studio tour. Fast & Furious super-​charged was excellent! Once again Universal Studios has outdone themselves. Although you’re sitting on the tram you feel like you’re part of the action going on in the streets of L.A. You really feel like you’re in the scene; especially if you sit in the middle. You may get slightly wet (slightly) but it’s not too bad.
Must say Universal does an amazing job on these simulation type rides. Although it makes me a bit dizzy but it’s still fun.
One thing is there’s so much going on you may need to ride a few times to breath it all in. My mind was a blur the first time. Looking forward to going again soon! And it’s always a plus to see Dwayne Johnson (formerly The Rock) on screen & 3D!

My boyfriend and I were able to preview this ride before it opened to the public using our season passes this past Sunday. Reserving a time slot was easy and it was awesome that we were able to go even though our passes were blacked out for that day. This «ride» is part of the Studio Tram Tour. With the pass members preview, we were taken directly to the Fast and Furious part. I’m guessing when the ride actually opens on June 25, it will be at the end of the tour after King Kong?
Anyways, I thought the ride was very enjoyable. It’s a 3D ride, like many of Universal’s newer rides. There are some cool special effects like water and wind. Honestly, it feels almost like Grand Thief Auto come to life. The holograms are cool and are 3D even without the glasses. The «chase» scene is where you will need your 3D glass. Only some of the characters appear on the ride, Tyreese, Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, and Dwayne Johnson. Right now, they have many of the cars from the movie on display in the middle of the park and also a wax figure of Vin Disel.
Very enjoyable ride! I’ll be riding it again soon!

Now the supercharged is pretty decent. Yes it’s 3D which I’m not sure if it makes it better or not. The best spot for this is the 2^nd or 3^rd cart. The ride itself has pretty cool effects but don’t expect it to be moving and going in a «supercharged» speed. Remember this ride is for all ages since it’s part of the tram tour. There is a chance you might get a little wet. So don’t get mad if you somehow get sprayed in the face with water. Enjoy!

Decent «ride» /​attraction that’s part of the back lot tram tour. Considering that you’re sitting in the tram bus on a 3D set the motion effects are pretty cool. The 3D kind of sucks, the screen looks the same with or without the glasses. One of the best parts of the ride is Vin Diesel & Tyreese actually do a better job acting as holograms than they have in any of the actual Fast & Furious movies.
Oh & and heads up, you might get wet on this ride.
