Total Wine & More

Hands down the most rude staff I’ve ever encountered. Managers are like Nazi’s with ID’s so if you have an under aged child with you, plan on leaving them in the car. Alone. On Route 22. Prices are high and speaking to any of the two women who manage the store will make you want to play in traffic.
Update: after posting this review I’ve received two calls from two different managers to discuss the situation. Very professional and understanding.

This huge place has excellent prices, including discounts off mixed cases of non-​sale wine.
Excellent selection of craft beers, foreign beers, etc at best prices in area.
Lots of parking and staff eager to give you their opinions.
For 5 stars, it would need to expand its wine selection – somehow, although it is large, it seldom includes reasonably priced wines I see recommended by Wine Spectator, the NY Times or a restaurant – it seems to have too many private labels (similar to Trader Joe’s foreign wines).

Poor customer service, a rude staff, over priced, and simply too big of a location. Going here for a bottle of wine is like going to shop rite for a pack of gum– you have to walk a mile inside the place just to get what you’re looking for and you probably passed 8 other places to get the same item on the way. I’ll be bringing my business to local liquor stores from now on and avoid the rude employees, high prices, and inconvenience of the big box stores.

DO NOT STEP FOOT INTO THIS STORE IF YOU OR ANYONE YOU ARE WITH DOESN’T HAVE AN ID. I went with three other people & we are all over 21. Two of my friends wanted to buy a collector’s beer & a glass to go with it. I did not carry anything. I didn’t even stand on line with them. But because they saw them talking to me earlier, they didn’t want to sell to them because I left my ID at home. THEY DIDN’T EVEN WANT TO SELL THE GLASS TO HIM. When we got back to the store, we still had to wait on line. The person that dealt with us the first time avoided us. So I confronted him & he did not apologize for the inconvenience. HE ACTUALLY SAID I HAVE NO COMMON SENSE FOR NOT CARRYING MY ID WITH ME. He also was talking under his breath as I was walking away. The worst store policy I’ve ever encountered. Nothing in that store is worth the trouble they gave us. The manager & cashier were ABSOLUTELY RUDE. Makes me wonder what happens if a parent comes in with a child. Make sure your child has his ID or you won’t be able to purchase anything lol. I’m so done with this store. Come to this store if you want to feel like an underage kid trying to get alcohol. & they don’t even deserve the one star I am forced to give.

Won’t sell to you if you’re way way over 21 and your friend left their ID at home. Big selection of alcohol that you aren’t allowed to buy because your 28 year old friend came in with you and didn’t have their ID. Just leave your friends in the car. Their rule is stupid in that it only inconveniences legitimate customers (who aren’t even thinking of alcohol age laws) while being easily defeated by people looking to break the law. I used to shop here before every party, but I’m never coming here again. The embarrassment of not being able to buy our alcohol while everyone watched us confusingly ask why and getting stonewalled by a manager, for a policy that will do absolutely nothing to punish illegal drinking, is too much. Drove 3 minutes down 22 to another liquor store and bought our booze without getting ID’ed. I’m balding.
If you want to buy alcohol and remember what it was like to be 19, shop here. For everyone who just wants to pick up some booze and move on with their life, go literally anywhere else.

Staggering selection of craft beers, including some rare foreign beers I haven’t seen in the U.S. before. Highly recommended… I just wish I lived closer!

This is the place to go! They have EVERYTHING you could possibly want and tons of choices. Even have a large humidor to get your cigars.

Love Total Wine! I would definitely make it a point to come here or any of their franchises over your average local liquor store especially for their craft beer selections. This store is huge and has a very large selection of wines, liquors, beers, mixers, etc. They have two aisles worth of beers, domestic and international. You can even purchase single bottles of craft beers here.

Always a great wine selection, my wife and i did all of our adult beverage shopping here since the store opened. For the most part i can say all of the workers at this particular location have been helpful and friendly, some friendly then others; however yesterday around 1pm I was the bud of the worst customer service experience i have ever had since sending my money at Total Wine. I’m renovating my home office and I had to stop by Home Depot to pick some material to complete the work so I decide to pick up a bottle of wine since Total Wine is in the same complex, I didn’t want to come back out. As I walked in I noticed the crowd was thin and i thought to myself I should be able to get in and out in no time; I can grab a bottle of Gumdale Cab 1.5 liter and be back home to finish my project. When I went to pick up a bottle from the shelf i noticed they were out of my particular brand, it was not highly displayed as usual; I also noticed this last week when I was there so I had to settle for a different blend (Shiraz). So I proceeded to look for someone who worked there and behold I spotted a worker, an older lady, slim, blond hair with glasses; I don’t know her name however I have seen her in the store before. I went to her and said excuse me, do you have any Gumdale Cab in stock there’s seems to be nothing on the shelves Her told me I had to get someone else to assist me, no smile and not friendly at all it was like I was disturbing her; then she most have remember that i’m the customer you are the worker and she got on her headset to find out the status of the wine. Then she proceed to say in a very nasty way you are in the wrong selection and I said I know where the Cab selection is, I was looking for someone to assist me; she then proceeded to get on her headset to followup on her request. It was obvious to me that I was not going to get a positive response for this worker so I went back to the shelves to check for myself and behold i discovered three bottles of Gumdale but way in the back behind another brand. So i decided to informed the worker of my discovery and before i could update her she informed me there is a new shipment that has been delivered however it’s on the truck and we have not unloaded it yet check back later. So I said I found a bottle on the back of the shelf and she give me the most nonchalant look I have ever seen from someone who works at a place where I frequently spend my money, oh but wait it gets better, here’s the finale. So I proceed to the register and I still hear one of the managers behind the managers booth still waiting for an status update on the Gumdale shipment. So told her I was the customer looking for the Gumdale Cab in the 1.5 liter bottle and I found a bottle on the back infact there’s two more bottles left on the back of the shelf. This female worker who is suppose to be the manager (probably not trained) presented with the same tone the previous presented me with. I was like wow! In closing I don’t know if this is how the workers display their appreciation to customers that spends their money at this particular location. Maybe because I was dressed a certain way, maybe I should have settled for another brand; it doesn’t matter. I have to reconsider shopping there and shop at the Wine Library instead. There goes recycling my dollars back into UnionTownship!

This liquor store is my go to in the area. It has everything & more. The employees are pretty knowledgeable & they are always able to give you various suggestions based on your taste or price range. Plus the prices are really decent and range from inexpensive to pricey based on the item. They also have a great craft & international beer selection along with your usual hard liquor & wines. Plus every Saturday there are tastings from 4 – 7 (I believe that’s the correct time still).

Was there today with my husband and brother who just had literally arrived from Brazil the same day to buy 3 bottles of wine and one craft beer for a dinner to celebrate him arriving. At the checkout line the clerk was a young woman who instead of being nice and telling us that unfortunately because he was with us and 20 years old we could not buy what we wanted she then was rude and embarrassed us which then she called over the manager. The manager also treated us badly … We always buy our wine there every week or so! We have never felt so embarrassed. Things could have been done differently. Never going back there. Not that it matters to them, however my brother felt indifferent and thought they didn’t want to sell anything to us because he didn’t speak English. Very sad how we were treated! :(

Best liquor store ever! It’s literally like a supermarket but for just liquor. They even have party food like chips, dips, etc. they have AISLES of alcohol it’s overwhelming but awesome. They have so many craft beers in 6 packs and sold as single bottles. Also they have quite the variety of gluten free beer.
I quickly went through the vodka aisle and noticed they have brands that I’ve never seen at other stores. And of course every possible flavor ever. The prices are definitely lower than most liquor stores.
This is my new fave liquor store In the union area!

I drive 2.5 hours just to come to Total Wine. Your one stop shop for wine, liquor, champaigne and craft beer.
I was here for three hours and loaded up my car with all of my favorite beverages. No I’m not an alcoholic! I like my spirits :)
Prices are good and theres no need to ask for a liquor discount. The signs will tell you want can be discounted.
For all of you New Yorkers there no bottle fee on beer!
As I’m typing this review i think its almost time to make a trip to Total Wine.

Very solid giant liquor store. Huge variety and good prices.
Of particular interest to me is the craft beer selection. There are 2 long aisles and some refrigerators of craft beer and 1 long aisle of the major label beers. The craft beers are organized per location in the world. I love that they let you mix and match so you don’t have to commit to an entire six pack. The selection is very good and sometimes they get the rare stuff. Talk to the beer manager.
Also of particular interest is the scotch selection, which is excellent. They have some varieties that you definitely cannot normally find elsewhere.
Almost always they have free wine tastings near the back, too.
This is a great spot to get your alcohol for good prices. Walk on over here while your wife is at the Wal-​Mart across the parking lot.

This is a very good place for single bottles of craft beers — and I’m talking about the 12 oz singles. There is also a great selection of 6 packs, very well organized. The parking lot can be challenging when the store and the nearby shopping plaza is busy. Definitely worth your time to stop by.

As a preface; disregard Steve’s claim of it being hard to find. If you take the next exit off 22 their sign is pretty easy to see & as soon as you exit it’s right there.
Also, I’m not much of a wine drinker so this review will be on everything else.
They always seem to have a good assortment of imported beers in addition to having the classic domestics I always look for (Brooklyn Brown, Sam Adams, Leinenkugel). Most of the less popular items have signs telling you about them so it makes it easier to decide. Prices are competitive, any person I asked for help always was if not with a big bright fake smile that some reviewers seem to be offed by.
In addition they have a good selection of spirits, cordials, etc as I’ve never left here empty handed.
It’s almost never crowded (I usually go Saturday morning) & if they dont have a particular selection the mgr will at least try to see if they can get it.
The only reason I’m not giving them 5 stars is because they dont always remove «past it’s prime» beer selections off the shelf (in a non-​green colored bottle most beers will stay fresh up to 6 mos of bottling date & some will show you exp or bottled date but some dont so it can be a crapshoot sometimes.

The past two times I’ve been here the cashier has messed up something about my order. The worst part is you can swipe your credit card ahead of time, and then it just goes through once they hit finished. There’s no way to cancel the processing on your end. Don’t swipe ahead of time!
Their coupon system is messed up. If you buy wine that is on sale, the amount deducted against that sale takes away from the coupon. So we has a coupon for $ 15 off $ 100 or more of wine and the coupon only saved us $ 4. It wasn’t a great deal to begin with, and it’s frustrating that buying wine on sale is almost frowned upon. Very disappointing.

This is a great wine store. I have not seen a more extensive selection anywhere. the staff is a bit pushy so if you know what you like stand your ground. enjoy and drink up.

The WalMart of liquor stores. Low prices, Huge selection! Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. What else is there?

Thank Buddha I am aware this place exists. This store is very close to Wine Library in Springfield, about a 10 minute drive. An endless walk, but could be done lol. So tricky, tricky whch one you go to and to for which type of beverage. I have found in my experience when I am purchasing Hard Alcohol you can get better prices on that stuff in a small indie LQ store. These stores rarely carry good selections of wines and awesome beers! I get my beers here if I am in the area and wines @ Wine Library. I have purchased wine here before, not saying I haven’t just saying I like what Wine Library offers a lot more. Total Wine has a lot of wines, but if you know your shizz you will also notice that the quality of their product kind of slack. The staff is in now way near as knowledgeable than the folks @ Wine Library.
Love the beer selection at Total Wine though. My mom lived in Kenilworth for a long time and I still have family there. Any time I go to Kenilworth and pickup beer here. There is a great park right down the road, Black Brook Park you could stop at as well. If you are careful and quiet, you could get away with bringing a 6 in a cooler and doing a little fishing.
