I have ordered from them before and was satisfied. However, yesterday was not the case. I placed a pretty large order which included picadinho. The minute I opened the tray and saw the picadinho, I was disapointed. The meat was a dull grey which is indicative of being under cooked. Well when I cut into it, it indeed was under cooked. The meat had a bunch of fat on it. It was the furthest thing from picadinho I have ever seen. Frankly, it was a disgrace to even put that kind of food out for customers. To top it off, it was for a birthday and had people over for dinner. I believe in second chances and will try them again; however, I will be making a visit in person and will be letting the owner know.

We have eaten here numerous times, and it is always delicious. My favorite is the chicken parm — generally I like it here more than I would at an Italian place, because the way they prepare it, with the rice, more olive oil, etc — really make it unique and tasty. Strogonoff is also great, as is the grilled chicken. Eat in or delivery — usually eat in you get the food nice and hot right away, but delivery is fine as well. Recommended!

I came here with my Boo Boo and her younger brother fro dinner this past weekend. We usually eat at La fortuna when we are nearby the hillside/union/Elizabeth area. We decided in this place because we want to get steak without paying $$$. The place is dated/old. The TVs are still in box form and hanging from the table. The high ceiling. The waitress’ English is not that great. They can get by but don’t expect them to be to explain specifics items. We ordered a whole a lot of food(see uploaded pics). We could have done without the #54. The steaks we got were seasoned right with salt and cooked properly. CC accepted. I’d come back but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here.

I had a great experience there. We went on a Wednesday night and it was very quiet. Service was great, very quick to bring all food out and they were attentive to our needs. Best thing is it’s BYOB and they offered a nice big carafe for water, so no waiting too long for water. As others have said, the picanha was awesome. We got the full order, which was 6 pieces and I got through only 2 before I was stuffed(I shared with one other person, she only had one piece). The steak sizes were roughly 12oz a piece, so pretty generous. The flavor was great! Definitely skip the calamari appetizer. Clearly frozen grade stuff. My girlfriend got the beef ribs and chicken combo. The chicken was very dry and pretty flavorless. The beef ribs on the other hand were very good. I like the beef ribs salty and they hit the spot. Overall I’d go back again. For four people, all of those entrees, one app, and 3 desserts the bill was $ 85 which is unheard of. Great restaurant to chow at with family and friends, but not an intimate place. Come hungry, leave happy haha

BYOB! That’s always a plus, but the food is incredibly delicious and the folks there are really friendly, I come here once in a while and love the skirt steak with garlic shrimp! It’s like Butter!!! And the take out is the best! Great Prices, Great Food, Great Service! You wont regret eating here and you’ll be back! Enjoy

Food was very very good. I would definitely eat there again. I took a point off for the bathroom. It was dirty and out of hand soap.

Last night was my first time here and it will be my last. I came in to order take out to eat with friends, so I placed my order with this hostess/waitress. As I’m waiting, I watched the guys in the kitchen grill my order. That is when I noticed a sausage had rolled off of the grill. Pretending I didn’t notice, I wanted to see what they would do and lo and behold they just picked it up and placed it back on the grill!!! I was so disgusted I wanted to leave!!! Instead I approached the hostess/waitress and told her what happened and she had them replace the sausage. No sorries No comp No nothing. I WILLNEVEREVERGOTHEREAGAIN!!! Imagine if I didn’t even notice! If they are willing to do it once they most likely will do it again! In addition, the food was overcooked!

This review is purely for the take-out. We ordered the steak with a side of yellow rice and french fries. The steak was delicious. You can smell the charcoal grill scent as you bite into it. The rice was also good. It wasn’t salty like nj other Portuguese restaurants. The French fries were subpar tho; but really you don’t order here the fries, you order here for the meat. I’ll definitely come by again and try the dine-in experience. As for the take-out, it’s superb.

What’s up with the Portuguese-Brazilian fusion all across Hillside and Union? Yeah, I know both countries have had a long bilateral relationship since the early 1500s, but why is it that both cuisines seemingly make up the bulk of Union County restaurants? Obvious answer. But off to Rei Da Picanha, and off I went. There’s an amazing dish here worth a drive/commute from NYC — their Dobradinha(Beef Tripe) is some of the best around. If you want a taste of Brazil, go to Rei Da Picanha; if you want fast Ribs, Rice, Fries on the go, go to Route 22BBQ(which is about a 15-second walk). Delicious Brazilian/Portuguese restaurant, in a large restaurant located on a remote on the outskirts of Route 22.

why would I go to a brazilian/portuguese steak house that’s located in the same neib as another portuguese barbeque? because I just ate two… yes, TWO delish 20oz brazilian steaks, a salad, yellow rice and french fries for $ 13.00. who has some Gas-X or Pepcid A/C for me?
