I came here a long time ago when my family no longer had Kaiser. The doctor I had was even worse. I had been on the same birth control, without complications for the past year, and she would not write me a new prescription. After arguing with her for about 15 minutes, having her constantly push for the pill and warning me about smoking she finally gave me the perscription. However, i would have to go back monthly for her to write me a new RX, and spend another $ 30. Now I receive a bill in the mail, almost a year later, for $ 15. This doctor was a pain in my butt from the get-​go. Everybody else in my family had similar problems with her. They only get the one star because the front desk people were very nice. Other than that, they can suck it.

The ladies in the front office are very nice. They are doing multiple functions and only have 2 hands each. They have compassion and genuinely want to help others. They are at the mercy of the field where more people want their help than they have slots to put people in.

Trying to get a see or talk to Dr. Trinh is like winning the lottery. It’s almost impossible to make an appointment here. When I first tried to get an appointment with Dr. Trinh I had to wait over a month to even get scheduled in. Then afterwards follow up with the office sucked. The medication that was prescribed for me was on manufacturer back-​order so the pharmacy sent a request back to Nakamura Clinic to change the prescription to another brand that was available. I had to call both the clinic and pharmacy back and forth multiple times. Clinic said they sent new medication to pharmacy and pharmacy said they never received it. It took two weeks to finally get my prescription.
I had a follow-​up question regarding my visit and sent an email via their MyChart system. Turn around time is supposed to be 1 – 2 days. It has now been over a week and no response from Dr. Trinh. I finally gave up and tried to schedule an appointment in the office just to talk to the doctor and I couldn’t even get a hold of a receptionist. Line was busy for over 30 minutes and it tells me to call back at another time. TOTAL FAIL.
Dr. Trinh is nice but now I’m on the hunt for another doctor in the area who can actually see me when I need to go.

Very unorganized doctors. The initial checkup is done in 5 minutes and then they let you wait more than 45 minutes in a room for the doctor to see you. As if they feel no value for your time.

The 5 stars are for Dr. Trinh… He is an amazing doctor. I’ve been seeing him since 2008. He has helped me and guided me so much. He always takes his time and doesn’t rush me. I have not one complain for Dr. Trinh. As far as the front desk it’s always a hassle to make an appointment they put you on hold for a long time.

Long wait for my appt. I checked in around 215 – 220 pm for my 245 pm appt. I was checked in after 5 mins of arrival but has been sitting inside the doctors office. The lobby only had two patients including me when I checked in and it would be nice if one of the staff notified me if there was a hold up. I’m really disappointed with the lack of courtesy. I was surprised that the check in process was quick but waiting inside the doctors office was very long. Dr. Trinh is a very good doctor, I hope that their service will get better. I called the front desk from the patients room where I was waiting for Dr. Trinh and asked what’s going on and they just stated that I’m next, it’s already 340 pm. If I wasn’t in this much pain, I would have left. I am still waiting…,

I understand that a doctors office may be busy, but there are never appointments here they are always booked. Mi am disappointed that I have to go in every month pay a high co pay just to get a refilling my prescriptions. I at least spend hundreds at this o rice for just a 10 minute check up. The doctor that I see is dr, sharma and she is always swamped. She completely cut me off my medicine and I had to experience days with nausea, vomiting, dizziness, fatigue,.but still no help. This place lacks communication with patients. Very disappointing

I came here for an annual physical and saw Nurse Practitioner, Georgina Dorkin.
The staff at the front desk was friendly and welcoming… However, they were pretty busy even in the morning, so they tend to be multi-tasking…handling phone calls and people in the office… so if they ask for your insurance card and id, make sure they give the right ones back.
The medical assistants and Ms. Dorkin were also very friendly and respectful when they introduced themselves and when they were asking me questions about my medical history.
I would definitely come back for the good service and ease of setting up an appointment.

It has been a long time when I came to this clinic. The service that I had received when they first opened was better than it is now. Last week I made an appointment and the receptionist Monica told me Dr. Trinh would be available. This week I get a call from her, stating that saying that he is unavailable. I explained to her that I made that Tuesday appointment because I work everyday during the weekday except Tuesday, and I needed my results before May 15th. The following Tuesday was also not available, and they don’t open on weekends. So frustrating!
What was most frustrating is the lack of concern or care. Not even a «oh, I am so sorry, can I put you on a wait list?» or «is it possible to come at another day, a later evening perhaps?» So I cancelled my husband’s appointment and mine. I will go spend my money elsewhere. I really do like Dr. Trinh. But I guess I will have to pass and find another doctor.
Poor customer service.
I will not be coming back to this place. It is turning into the Washington Clinic in Newark.

Dr. Hoang Trinh and Dr. Seema Sharma are wonderful! If you are looking for a general practitioner who will care for you and your family’s health and overall well being, these are the physicians to see. They spend time with you and address your needs. I appreciate that they don’t try to rush you through your appointment.
Immediate appointments are hard to come by (because they are that busy) and SOME (not all) staff members come across a little rude. The wait time to see Dr. Trinh is an issue. I’ve waited over an hour at some my appointments. Hence the 4 star rating. Otherwise, A++++

This place is always a big headache. I only go here for Dr. Trinh. He is an amazing doctor, yet the workers in the front desk lack impeccably. I had a few countless arguments with them here and there because of some of the workers attitude, and for a patient to deal with sickness and on top of that having to deal with nasty workers just frustrates the patient even more.
Also, the paperwork is dreadful I am a constant client but they charged me for a blood sample that cost $ 1,300.00! I called back, and a woman named «Dona/​Dina?» had written down the WRONG INSURANCE thus why I was charged with this outrageous bill. Overall, I didn’t have to pay anything since my insurance covered it all.
The staff sucks, but Dr. Trinh is the best doctor I’ve had for many years. Overall, if you can see a different clinic, take the chance. Cause I’m on the verge of leaving very soon.
The two stars are for Dr. Trinh, empty ones are for the staff. Btw, they talk about you when they think you’re not listening. Be aware. Lmao.
AND, I’ve had to make an appointment for my Mom and I just now and we’ve been on hold for hella long.

RUDE RUDE RUDE! I would give 0 stars if I could! I came here for a pre-​employment test and initially could not take the test because the form I had was not signed. The first front desk girl I spoke with was nice called to get approval but received a VM. She gave me paperwork to fill out and I told her I would come back another day. After hearing from the future employer that they called back and gave the Ok the night I was there I went back at the same time as before 5:15. My future employer also said I shouldn’t have any problems since they are a providing facility. Upon my return the initial girl I spoke to was not working so I explained to the front desk girl who was nothing but clueless as to what was going on. She called a woman named Dina up front and she was nothing but rude and spoke with attitude about how she has no idea what that is and it’s after 5 and they don’t see patients after 5, mind you they’re hours go until 6:00. I couldn’t believe how unorganized this place was and how rude and uninformed their staff is on something very standard. Even though it is close to my house I will never go here again and will try the warm springs facility instead.
**Update — I went today 12⁄5 to the Warm Springs facility and this facility can learn a thing or 2 from them. Went in no appointment, same paper and they were friendly knew what to do and I was in and out without any problems.

I have been seeing Dr. Trinh for a few year and have nothing but positive encounters from him. He is very through and detail and takes the time to explain the situation and/​or possible treatments and solutions. I am very impressed with his level of professionalism.
The rating would have been higher, but scheduling and time is always an issue. I easily spend 40 minutes in waiting. I know this pretty much always happens so I just bring a book or something to do. I am willing to wait to be seen by him.
Dr. Trinh 5 stars alone.

After so many years seeing Dr. Trinh I have decided to look for another doctor, not because of Dr. Trinh, who is an amazing doctor and caring professional, but due to the staff at the Nakamura Clinic and also the lack of consideration when it comes to being on time as it relates to your appointment. It doesn’t matter if you come in ill or in need of some consideration when you are completely under the weather but you come in as a walk-​in, the receptionist staff is rude and not caring. Aside from that, the fact that you set an appointment and you show up on time but you are not seen until 45 minutes to an hour later is a lack of consideration. How can you have a clinic and only have in one day just 1 doctor and 1 nurse practitioner to take care of so many patients in a clinic?

My son has been seeing Dr. Trinh since he was born– since December 2006. And I must say, that I trust only Dr. Trinh to be my son’s pediatrician. Dr. Trinh is very patient and kind. He’s been answering every first-​time-​mom medical question I have, and he never rushes through my son’s appointment.
There have been a couple of instances where my son had to be seen by someone else, which was during a random check-​up, or when Dr. Trinh wasn’t available. And all the doctors are kind, but only Dr. Trinh truly takes him time with you.
However, some of medical assistants may have an attitude when checking-​in for your appointment.

I have only gone here once and I really don’t think I will be back again. The staff was very cold. with exception of one lady that was helping the receptionist (that is why I gave 2 stars)… The receptionist (asian lady with short hair, I didn’t get her name) didn’t even smile once. After waiting a long time I finally get called in by a lady named Dina. This lady looked as if she didn’t even want to be there. I am a firm believer that if you work with people you need to be friendly, especially when they already feel like crap. This clinic is clean though unlike others I have been to but it lacks personality once you walk into the rooms… The doctor (female) was not very helpful either. I do not recommend this clinic…

I’ve been coming here for a while and I have to say: I wouldn’t go anywhere else. My Dr. here is Dr. Sharma and she treated me very well the numerous times I’ve gone. Never patronizing, never rushing me out the door, and always has my best interests in mind. She was willing to spend way past the slot (I guessed) I had seeing as she spent almost an hour my first time just to get a good idea of what the problem was!
The front office staff is very friendly and I always appreciate the 55% discount I get for being cashpay =). The MA Maria who usually takes me back and responds to my messages for Dr. Sharma is very warm, very respectful, and is great at getting back to me.
I’ve been to numerous clinics (COUGHNewark Health CenterCOUGH) where the staff are rude and the Dr.‘s trying to rush out the door from the second they enter. I’m glad to say that this clinic is different from all those.

When we lived in Union City, our family doctor was Dr. Trinh at the Nakamura Clinic. We moved to Contra Costa County two years ago and we still make the time to go out to Dr. Trinh for things like well child checks and what not. He really is one of the best doctors I’ve ever been to. He’s got a great beside manner, he explains everything thoroughly and patiently. My husband and I both went to him and when our daughter was born, we brought her to him as well. It is really nice having a family doctor who knows all of our histories.
The office staff is very friendly and accommodating. I especially remember when our daughter was first born and going in to see Dr. Trinh multiple times that first month, one visit in particular was a no-​sleep, worried-​parent, OMG what’s happening?! visit. The staff was friendly and understanding as always, a real comfort for some crazy first parent moments.
I highly recommend this clinic to anyone in the area! Great doctors, great staff!
