Wow, there’s nothing good I gotta say. Nope, nothing at all. I got a facial yesterday at the«Spa» and expected something beneficial out of it. However, what I received in the end was the complete opposite. The stuff they used were different from the ones they have for display. 1) The quality of the materials used in the facial were dirt-quality. My face was swollen and itched like crazy the next day. Absolutely ridiculous. 2) The place didn’t have ANY licenses posted, at least not in visible areas. By law, they are supposed to do so. If you want to come here, don’t. Even if it was free, the itching and the feeling of having dirt quality cosmetics put on you is not worth it. I will report this facility to the California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology and see what they gotta say. DONOTCOMETHISROTTENPLACE.

After work one day, I decided to get a massage. It was kind of a last minute decision, so I checked Unilocal to see what was open and close by, and Union City Spa came up. I called to see if they had any appointments available and fortunately(well at the time, I felt I was fortunate) they did. They were located in some business like buildings. As soon as I walked in, I already had a bad feeling about the place. It looked nothing like a spa. It looked like an old, tacky business office. I decided to get the 30 min. foot massage and 55 min. full body massage for $ 55. They first took me into this small room where they cramped 3 – 5 lazy boy looking chairs. It was so confined in there, I felt like I was going to fall over on the guy next to me while he was getting his massage. The foot massage was ok, nothing spectacular. I was hoping that it would ease some pain I was experiencing from a high impact workout I did the day before. Unfortunately, it did nothing for me. The two masseuses who were not even a foot away from each other were talking to each other the whole time. It was not relaxing at all. After the foot massage, I was taken to another room for my full body massage… thinking to myself, «Finally! I can get a massage and some peace and quiet.» …WRONG! The massage rooms were anything but private. The walls were short(more like office cubicles) so you could hear everything going on in the room next to you. It sounded as if one of the masseuses went in there for privacy and was just sitting in there talking on the phone the whole time… super annoying! Oh, and the massage beds didn’t even have blankets to cover you. Instead, they had these grungy, rough towels. They really need to invest in some blankets or at least some fabric softener for the sandpaper-like towels. The massage itself was, again, just okay. It was kind of hard to enjoy it with all of the background noise around me. When I finished, I went to the front desk and the receptionist had left for the day. I gave my masseuse what I felt was appropriate for a tip(I am not a shady tipper) and she felt the need to remind me how long my massage was. Me being a little shocked by that, and just bothered by the whole hour and a half I wasted, I gave her more just to shut her up and get the hell out of there and never come back. Ughhh, I don’t know why I never learn… you get what you pay for!
