Jose is THE MAN ! The previous wiring of power outlet was a mistake and it was very difficult to diagnose. Jose was very experienced, skillful and PATIENT. Step by step, he tracked down this culprit and a long-​time mystery was finally solved by him. From now on, I will recommend him to any of my friends who need AC services…

I bought a Trane heater and A/​C from another company 7 years ago (who has gone out of business), and figured it was long overdue to get a checkup. I was receiving those letters in the mail from an over-​marketed heater company talking about a checkup for $ 88, but was skeptical. (And after reading their Unilocal reviews I can see why…) Plus, I’ve been around marketing enough to know to be skeptical of companies that spend hundreds of thousands on marketing campaigns.
So I checked Unilocal and found Rabboni. Jose (the owner) was very nice and spent a few minutes on the phone even as we made the appointment. (By contrast, the over-​marketed company put me on automatic hold when I called in and I hung up after 2 minutes of listening to their music and ads…).
Jose came out a few days later and spend a lot of time checking everything and discussing my unit and configuration. He didn’t try to up-​sell anything and talked to me about some self-​maintenance. Everything checked out fine, but I’ll be taking his advice to add an overflow shutoff valve below my condenser (which he will do later) to avoid ruining my duct work if the drainage backs up. He also took extra time to disassemble and clean the drainage pump which had been making some noise previously but, of course, was not while he was there.
Good service and someone I can trust to maintain the unit and not over-​sell a bunch of extras.

What can I say about this business other than all good things. There is a reason why this business has 5 stars. For me here’s why they earned it.
We’ve had our heater/​furnace out for about 6weeks. Our landlord finally contacted this business after PGE found that the problem was with the furnace unit.
I first met Jose, whom I assume is the big boss of the operation and managed to determine it was control board problem. He was honest and his price estimates were fair for the amount of labor and work to be done.
He sends out one of his guys, Joshua. He definitely knows what he’s doing and very knowledgable of the trade, teaching me how the furnace runs and its sequence as he installs the control board. He also advised and gave tips on maintenance. We now have heat and it’s a nice 75 °F. Excellent quality of work and service. Definitely would refer this business to others.

I am writing this review as a big ‘Thank You’ to Joshua and José. My old AC is working perfectly.
First of all, these guys are a breeze to schedule. Called and got an appointment on the same day. Unlike some other guys in the area who didn’t even bother to return our call.
Secondly, They were on time. Actually, the moment I gave them my address, they knew where we were at. Yes, they are that familiar with the area. In fact, José sent Josh first just because he was closest to us at that moment.
After close to four hours of repairing, the AC was fixed, José had an extra diagnosis and a list of symptoms for me to watch out for. He was like the AC whisperer… LOL
The rates seemed reasonable too.

Called them this morning at 8:30, and got a call back before 10! He was able to come out right away (cancellation) to look at a rather urgent A/​C issue. Very friendly and professional.
After topping up he Freon everything worked great! He even replaced the capacitor on the other furnace and checked the motor for free!
I would normally take off a star for not allowing payment by credit card, but that is becoming an industry standard these days. I will save my rant about credit card companies overcharging small company owners for a different venue :)
I would definitely call him back.

I called Jose when the A/​C stopped sending in cold air. Jose was very professional, arrived on time, and provided quality services. While this required multiple visits, Jose did not charge extra for his time. Jose explained everything that was going on and made a point to make sure I was comfortable with the steps. For Jose, it’s all about getting it right and he is clearly honest and proud in his work — something of a rarity these days. I highly recommend the services of Jose and Rabboni Mechanical.

I used their service in my home in newark and I truly satisfied by Jose knowledge of heating and cooling systems, workmanship, honesty. He identified problem and suggested us to replace furnace which was VERY old. He also added additional heating line to living room that didn’t have adequate heating. We were very satisfied by his work and highly recommend him!

Jose provides great service and is very knowledgeable and doesn’t mind to share the insight with me. Jose has repaired the heater by replacing a crack exhaust fan and ignitor, Jose pointed out that the crack exhaust fan unit has risk of leaking exhaust gas so it must be replaced. Best of all, service and parts carry one year warranty!

I had José come out to fix a hot surface igniter on our electric heater because it wouldn’t heat up. He came out promptly (within 20 minutes) that day I had called and did a great job in fixing what needed to be fixed. He has a lot i knowledge and understanding of what he’s doing which made me feel safe and at ease. He is very reasonable and fair with his prices. PLUS he gives you a ONE YEAR WARRANTY Guaranty!!! I will definitely be giving Jose a call if I need fixing :)

I’ve used their services twice in the last two years and should have written a review after the first time… Rabboni Mechanical is a company that I would recommend to any of my friends and family, but I must warn you that he has a minimum so if your needs are extremely minor (requiring only a few minutes of his time) then you may be disappointed with the price (approx. $ 180 covers his travel and minimum service time). With that said, he is very professional, has reasonable rates for his service (much better than the big shops) and does outstanding work… My house has a 12 year old heating and air system that was under warranty until two years ago. Soon after the warranty expired the company that installed it offered a free inspection. During that inspection they listed off thousands of dollars of parts for replacement, (hinting that I should replace the entire system), and pointed out a few problems that were clearly starting to occur. Soon after they left I checked Unilocal for a second opinion and found Rabboni Mechanical. The owner came out to my house, examined my system, made a similar list of parts and then apologized because it was going to cost me nearly $ 700 (parts were leaking and beginning to fail). After checking around he was able to get a better deal on some of the parts parts so he brought the cost down closer to $ 600. The work was done quickly and efficiently and I was told that I should get another five to ten years out of my system…
Unfortunately during the recent cold spell (Dec 2013) my system stopped blowing heat; only circulating the air that was already in the house. It took me a day to realize that the heater wasn’t really pumping heat because the fan was blowing and I assumed the issue was that «it’s very cold outside». Soon after I realized we had a real problem I gave Rabboni Mechanical another call (8am on a Saturday morning). He arrived at my door less than an hour later, determined that a switch was failing, and resolved the problem within fifteen minutes. My wife and I were so happy to have the heat working again that we didn’t think twice when he billed us nearly $ 200 for a switch. This time his apologies were for charging us so much due to the company’s policy on minimum service charges. Personally, I didn’t mind paying up to get heat again, (it’s been darn cold outside and he came out on a Saturday morning), but I suspect that there are a few people who would rather chill than pay someone else $ 180 for a few minutes of work (the part was $ 17 and
I was lucky he had it in stock).

I called Jose to get a Trane A/​C/​furnace system installed. He told me about all the models and what he recommended. I never felt pressured and decided to go with his bid. He explained the whole process. I had carpet on the stairs and he covered them well so that it wouldn’t get dirty while working in the attic. He did have some minor scuffs to the wall, which was understandable, there was nooooo way you could have gotten the big furnace without a little boo boo. But what they did next was impressive. They saw that I had some touch up paint in the garage and touched it up, just like new. This is good service, service that respects you and enjoys happy customers. Jose is one of the friendliest people you will meet. A/​C works like a charm in the summer… very cold throughout the house if you want it to be. I have no regrets.

Recently my furnace of 45 years finally quit. I called one company and left a message. Thankfully they never returned my call. I looked up Rabboni Mechanical and spoke with Jose. He came that same day and suggested a furnace replacement. He was polite with a great demeanor. He explained all that a replacement would require and we set up an appointment for several days later. His workers arrived at the designated time and were very thorough. They replaced the heater in a timely fashion, cleaned up after themselves, took away the old furnace and explained all the details of the new one and showed me how everything operated. The workers themselves were both very professional and respectful of my property. The following day I even received a call from Jose to make sure I was happy with the installation. He also let me know that I should call if I had any problems. To close, this is an excellent company and I truly feel you will be well served in hiring them. I’m glad I did.

I can’t remember if i found Jose thru Unilocal.i think i did so thanks to all those who Unilocaled before me. But regardless, he’s been helping me out on my rooftop commercial HVAC units for over 2 years now. He does a great job assessing the problems and gives me fair estimates. He’s super easy to work with and easy to get in touch with (mostly by text which is so fast and convenient). The work is completed in a timely manner. He even got rid of wasp nests in my units for me. His guys are young but professional. It looks like they’ve been trained well. I’m set up now for twice a year maintenance. He texts me to remind me and ask when is a good time for his guys show up and the work is done. Almost like magic. We hired Rabboni Mechanical to fix our air conditioning and heating system, because of his ratings and were extremely pleased! Wish we could have given him 6 stars!
The first time he came to our home he and his 2 technicians were polite, respectful, clean, and easy to talk to. Jose showed us how our air conditioner was falling apart (you could put your finger through the radiator fins and they would turn to ash/​dust) and that we needed to replace it. We asked about cheaper options and he did say we could put in more freon but that it wouldn’t work for long. We decided to go ahead and get the new air conditioner but really appreciated his discussion of short-​term and long-​term options. He got our air conditioning working both downstairs and upstairs at the same time. He did say that our control circuit board was on its last legs and would need replacing soon.
Well, the board went out and we called Jose to come replace it. He was out 2 days later ready to install a new board. What a joy it is having him do such a thorough job so quickly. We know this could have cost us so much more! We were truly blessed with his work and friendliness!

We hired Rabboni Mechanical to install an air conditioner at our home. We are so glad we went with this company. I have nothing negative to say about Jose and his technicians. They returned phone calls in a timely manner, arrived right on schedule both times at our house, and kept us informed along the way. The estimate was given on the spot as opposed to via email a couple of days later as 2 other companies did.
At some point during the installation of the A/​C unit, some scratches were made on the top panel. Jose didn’t like this one bit and has ordered us a new one free of charge. The scratches didn’t bother us, but Jose was not pleased and only wanted perfection. It was a real pleasure to do business with this company and we would hire them again with no hesitation for future HVAC needs… so should you!

I contacted Jose Ojeda (owner) to set up an appointment for an estimate — easily done. We met at my house to discuss my options regarding a new HVAC system. After talking with Jose he recommended Trane equipment because of its efficiency and reliability. Jose was straight forward with his presentation and always looked me in the eyes during our discussion — Total respectful confidence in what he was saying. He was never pushy and he took the time to answer all of my questions in a satisfactory manner. At my request, Jose left the quote with me. He thanked me for my time and went on his way.
The Contract and Work Commencement:
I contacted Jose about a month later to tell him that I wanted his company to do the work. He came out within a day to meet with me and write the contract. I signed the contract and we scheduled the work to begin the following Monday. Monday soon arrived and work commenced on time as promised. Throughout the week work continued every day and was completed by Friday of the same week. The installers were great. They were very courteous and professional throughout the entire installation process — Both Lorenzo and Edder (installers) were topnotch individuals.
Completion:
Upon completion on Friday I was left with a flawlessly installed, fully functional, brand new HVAC system. Jose carefully explained system function and operation with me to make sure I knew how to use it and told me to contact him anytime if I had any questions.

I’m amazed at how difficult it was to find just that right person to replaced our heating unit. It was even harder than shopping for a PV (Solar panels) system. We started shopping in 2010 but gave up 2 months into it because we didn’t feel comfortable with the quotes we were getting and didn’t care for the sales people. We started getting quotes again this year with some of the bigger companies, such as Sears, Homedepot, and Costco. Again, each one has a story to tell of their own and we were not satisfied with their quotes.
We finally turned to Unilocal and called 3 companies with the highest Unilocal ratings. Out of all 3, Jose was the best at explaining things to us in plain English without the pressure of a salesman. We couldn’t be happier we chose Jose and his crews. Thank you Jose for your caring, professional, and honest way of doing business. I’m a little late with my review but I wanted to make sure I got around to giving this company the review they deserve. At the beginning of spring I called around to companies trying to get my AC fixed. My dog had chewed on the wires outside and just the wires needed replaced. I called around to 5 or 6 places and they all were asking for $ 80 for coming out and labor + cost of materials.
Luckily Jose called me right after I had made an appointment with another company stating the price I said above. He quoted me a much lower cost so I booked him and quickly called and canceled the previous company.
I told him what I needed and he came out the next day and fixed for way less then half the price! He even explained to us how the wire used in procedures like mine was usually left over wires from other jobs so there really was no materials cost. He was honest, affordable, polite and fast!!! He has my business for now on!

Outstanding.
I have lived in and owned my own 30+ year old home for over 6 years. During this time I’ve had a great number of experiences with licensed contractors and handymen. Jose of Rabboni Mechanical should be your only call should you need help with your HVAC (heating or air conditioning needs).
My gas furnace broke down last winter, and with a new one on the way I knew I needed to get it replaced before the weather turned. I checked online, and thanks to fellow Unilocal reviewers I found Jose. I got 3 separate estimates and compared them apples to apples. Not only was Jose the least expensive, but his demeanor and his attitude make you feel comfortable.
He is not out to just make the deal. He gives you his honest opinion, free estimates, and does a great job.
