We have been going to Q Cleaners for about 5 years now and have never faced a problem. Everything comes back clean, always on time, and it is always service with a smile. We take our comforters, sheets, fancy outfits and of course the usual shirts/pants. I have even had some alterations done and it worked out well for me(then again, I was just shortening some pants that were too long). I would give them 5 stars, but they are expensive especially when compared the place we used to go to when we lived in Santa Clara. But in terms of the work done and their service, I give them 2 thumbs up.

I had a terrible experience at Q CLEANERSSANJOSE. Last Sunday I brought 4 jackets and 5 suits, which they charged me $ 57 for when I dropped them off. Yesterday I went to pick up my 9 «clean» pieces and I was surprised when I arrived home and found out that 7 out of the 9 pieces had a tag that said something like: sorry, but we tried, but we could not clean your clothes well enough without possible injury to the color or fabric”. They did not wash them, they put them on hangers with the plastic bags, incorporated this tag with the same note to each one of the 7 pieces, they charged for it and they did not say anything when I picked them up! What is this??? Why did they accept my clothes then? Why did they charge me for it if they cannot do the work??? TERRIBLESERVICE, HORRIBLECUSTUMERSERVICE, THEYCHARGEDMEFOR A SERVICETHEYDIDNOTPROVIDE. Nice enough people working here but they messed up my tailoring job twice. I don’t have enough time or patience to give them another chance.

I got my prom dress altered here and i guess the experience was… eh. The lady who did my alterations(I never caught her name) was very rude to me. This was my first time getting tailoring and alterations done, I was bound to forget something or do something wrong right? Well as suspected I didn’t wear the right bra –___– she gave me a long lecture about how it messes up her process and such. How was I supposed to know! I even went in the day before and asked her what i needed, she said, «just bring the gown.» And that’s what I did. Anyway, so the session went on. And she kept complaining about how the zipper of my dress was on the side… and not on the back. That’s not my fault. If she was has a bone to pick with someone about that, I would’ve been more than happy to point her in the direction for the designer of my gown. And on top of that, she OFFERED to press my dress, I didn’t ask. She offered. I only came in to get it tightened. I asked her how much and she said«not much.» and I was like, «okay, whatever, I guess»(I didn’t say that outloud, but yeah, you get the point) Anyway… she charged me $ 180 for the entire thing(the pressing and the alterations)… Now, let me add that my alterations wasn’t a lot, I was just getting a shouder strap shortned and the waist taken in. How in the world did that add up to $ 180INCLUDINGTHEPRESS? ugh, anyway. i realized that i’m ranting now. Don’t go here. there are better places with better costumer service and reasonable prices.

Looking at older reviews makes me feel fortunate that I’ve never had to experience the bad service they encountered. Well whatever the case, they’ve definitely gone through some changes because I’ve always been treated great here. Speaking off my own experiences, this is a pretty good place to get your dry cleaning done. A little pricey, but I’ve only gone to one other place for my dry cleaning and they both charge in the same price range. My most recent visit I dropped off 7 pieces to get cleaned and it totalled around $ 60 plus. And mind you, there were some major stains on a SILK top and a few set in stains on a dress from MONTHS prior that needed to go away FAST, and here they did just that. I’ve had denim altered here too, which were just ok, I’ve gone to better. If they can just fine tune their tailoring department, I would give this place that fifth star. Keep it up Q!

I have my dress shirts laundered and pressed here. I also have my slacks cleaned here. The owner/operator is one of the nicest people on the planet! I have been coming here so long I don’t even produce my claim slip or tell her my name. She greets me and pulls out my order. I highly recommend this business!

This cleaner rips people off. I found a mistake on the receipt when I went to pick up the cleaning, and they argued that it was not a mistake and they had a right to do what they did. I brought in some men’s and women’s shirts, all 100% cotton. They charged $ 1.99 for the men’s shirts, which I had known from experience. They charged me $ 5.50 for the ladies shirts(which incidentally cost my wife $ 6 each to buy) and told me that«all dry cleaners» charge more for ladies’ shirts. I pointed out that it’s been illegal since 1996 and they argued back. California law requires dry cleaners to post their prices in a conspicuous place in no less than 14-point boldface type for«the 15 most frequently requested services provided by the business.» This cleaner did not(actually told me they refuse) which is why I did not see the problem until after I gave them the clothing and got the receipt. California law requires the business to «display in a conspicuous place at least one clearly visible sign, printed in no less than 24-point boldface type [about the size of a half sheet of letter sized paper], which reads: ‘CALIFORNIALAWPROHIBITSANYBUSINESSESTABLISHMENTFROMDISCRIMINATING, WITHRESPECTTOTHEPRICECHARGEDFORSERVICESOFSIMILARORLIKEKIND, AGAINST A PERSONBECAUSEOFTHEPERSON’S GENDER. A COMPLETEPRICELISTISAVAILABLEUPONREQUEST.’» The Civil Code section 51.6 became law specifically because of the practice of charging more for women’s clothing when the cleaning process can be the same. Not all consumers know the law, but it’s what they do for a living. I even gave them a copy of the law so I’m 100% sure it’s not out of ignorance on the part of the owner. They charge 275% of the men’s shirt price to clean one worn by a woman. Anybody who thinks prices are fair should check with any other cleaner that follows the law. Even if you think the price would be fair, is it fair when it’s illegal? The ladies’ shirts came out looking no better than when machine washed and ironed at home and it was absurd to say they needed any different treatment. Had the prices been posted, they would have been unable to list the higher price. Incidentally, they did a nice job on the dry cleaning and laundry. I did not have problems with wrinkles. I’ve had other cleaners return shirts with cuffs and necks that looked like they were never washed, and once pressed in, they stayed that way. This place actually got most of that long time residual dirt stains out. The service had been respectful, but not outwardly friendly, and I don’t think the clerk meant to be rude but was simply completely ignorant. If they had been willing to follow the law or even admit that they broke it, I’d consider using them again. But the clerk told me that I’m not the type of customer they want.

I take my jeans here to get altered every time(either the jeans industry likes to make long pant legs or I have disproportionately short legs). They come out looking like they hadn’t been altered at all especially when you ask for the original hem. Reasonable prices and fast and friendly service.

I love this place. The owner is great; she has done everything for us from shirts; suits; alterations; and cleaning down comforters. I trust her with even my most prized closet pieces. I highly recommend this location. Prices are fair and the service is really friendly and fast. The location is on the«less» busy area of Union Landing so finding parking is never an issue.
