Great food, great prices, and fast! We had the spring rolls and the rare beef brisket phở. Perfect comfort food.

For phở in Union City, Phở Pasteur is a solid spot to go! While I’ve definitely had better phở in my life, this place hits the right spot when you’re in the mood. And it’s a favorite among my coworkers and also friends who live nearby. They recently redid the interior, and it looks fairly modern now. The tables are kept clean, and the restaurant isn’t too cramped(aka there’s enough space for the cleaning carts to go by and quickly bus the tables) except when there’s a line of people waiting to eat. And it does sometimes get crowded. Service here is pretty minimalistic. They bring out your food and water quickly, but pretty much leave you on your own after than. But the key thing is that they bring out the food quick, great if you only have a short time to grab lunch. Make sure to bring cash, as they are CASHONLY.

This place is busy no matter what time of day you go to. We order the phở soup with the beef and the seafood one and the chicken wings. The food came out super duper fast though like in 5 minutes. One warning though if you plan on going to the bathroom the floors are slippery and geasy and do not look at the kitchen as it looks very dirty. So get the chicken wings they are very good and crispy.

It was like any other phở restaurants I’ve been to. I honestly only eat phở when I’m sick, haha. There was really nothing special about this place. What sucks, though, is that it’s cash only and I usually don’t carry cash with me. Luckily, my bf had emergency cash in his car lol

This place is always packed and a staple of west side union city. Service can be lacking but they try to keep it moving. Portions are above average for most phở places, the broth however is average.

I do not recommend this restaurant because it is not clean and very poor food quality!

This has become our go-to phở spot. It can get really busy and we sometimes have to wait for a table, but it’s always worth the wait. Phở #13(rare steak and brisket) is my usual order and it never fails to be delicious. I love that they offer small, medium, and large phở sizes; you don’t find that too often. They have a great meat-to-noodle ratio at Phở Pasteur in my opinion. I’m get disappointed when phở places give you too many noodles and not a lot of meat. My only complaint is that it is cash only, but that is pretty typical of phở places also.

I’ve been here a few times in the past, but it never really stuck to my liking. The place is always packed and phở is decent. It’ll get your craving fixed for sure. The portions are not bad either. Their small is really small and I would say their Medium is the normal Small size at other phở restaurants. Not bad if you’re in the area.

On any given lunch period, this place can pack it in. And of all them heads, 95% Filipino. Never seen that much of a concentration where it wasn’t a Filipino restaurant. Union City represent! Unfortunately I can’t add my regular business here. The phở is just too so-so, and I don’t live close enough to travel for said so-so-ness. Don’t get me wrong, it is not bad. But it is also far from special that it is basically utilitarian. The broth is the most solid part. It does it’s job. Not terribly deep but has enough spice and sweetness to make it worth it’s price. The thin noodles arrive clumped in a ball so there is a bit of mixing and untangling. The meats are sparse and average. I usually have to order extra. Tried a fried shrimp cake once and did not care for it. It is basically a shrimp mixture(much like meatball mix), that is wrapped in a flaky wrapper and deep fried. First the«cake» itself had a weird dense texture, like rubber ball bouncey. Plus the flavor was awkwardly garlic-y. Then the fried crust seemed too greasy, like bad frying techniques. Unfortunately a disappointment. Then on the last visit, they dropped off the wrong bowls to each person. So before you doctor up your bowl with sprouts, hot sauce and lime, poke through your bowl to confirm you got what you ordered. Otherwise, once you customize a bowl, that really should of came to me, I kinda don’t want it back.

*parking is difficult to find in the plaza, had to park on the street *floor is super slippery since its tiled 1. Combo Phở w/o beef balls(L): Quality– 8⁄10; noodle was soft, but not in a bad way. Quantity– 8.5÷10; good amount of meat and noodle. Taste– 7⁄10; Broth could be better. 2. Spring rolls: Quality– 8.5÷10 Quantity– 8⁄10 not enough veggies and does not come with noddle. Taste– 8.5÷10 They weren’t packed, but we did get our food right away. Overall a decent place, except for parking.

My go to phở spot in the area. It’s homely, the service is fast and everyone is always very nice. My family and I grew up eating at this place ever since I can remember Friday nights. It’s a great place for those who love phở and those who have to get rice. I’m always in the phở mood, even more so when the weather is gloomy and my boyfriend is the must have rice once a day. So it’s a perfect place for us to grab a bite to eat. I drink a lot of water so I always have to ask to get my water refilled. But that’s not a problem to me. I get the #2 and fresh spring rolls.

been coming here since high school…(not going to say how many years ago that was!) but it hasn’t changed, and I mean that in a good way. Phở broth is legit and on point and packing with flavor. I’ve had a few people call it a bit salty, but that’s probably bc they’ve been having crappy phở their whole lives :(i know, how sad. i always order the Phở Dac Biet, rare flank, brisket, tripe, tendon and it never disappoints. another one that i love to order, but usually on a cold winter day or when I’m sick is the Bun Bo Hue(did i spell that right?) it’s a spicy red beef noodle soup, with the thicker white noodle. this place is great for all sizes, their service is super fast and their food never disappoints! i also hear their chicken wings are a killer too! just saw 2 tiny ladies last night kill a plate of like 12 huge wings after killing their own large bowls of phở!(BEASTMODE). one more thing!!! —- CASHONLY! enjoy fellow foodies!

this place has been around for as long as I can remember and every time I go I am always satisfied. It looks clean and sanitized. I’m not an expert on authentic Vietnamese food but this place will do its job and feed your appetite. The only thing I don’t like about this place is they don’t take card. So I have to go to the bank first get some money just to eat here.

I’ve been going to phở Pasteur for a while now. I’d give five stars if they’d start taking card, which they don’t. So for now, they get 4. Also because of their service. They just added new tables to this place and it looks so much cleaner. I usually order a rare steak phở. I like how the soup is so hot that it cooks the steak and noodles for you. Their phở has good servings. I usually never finish my order. I like to add hoisin and siracha. I also order their shrimp cakes. These are delicious! Not many Vietnamese restaurants sell these. They’re great. Overall their food is really good and authentic. Their service I would say is poor, but everyone is such a regular here that everyone is used to it. Their servers are really rude and they hardly acknowledge you. They will not come to check up on you or refill your waters. I usually just get up and take their pitcher and refill it myself. They don’t really communicate with you. They really are rude here, but I think we’re all used to it. Despite that, this is my go to spot for Vietnamese food.

Its CASH only, which I hate. Its 2015… get it together Their service sucks, which isnt surprising bc its a vietnamese restaurant, their service is never good. No racial, just by experience with alllll the phở restaurants that I’ve been to. Be sure to check your utensils and cup as well, they aren’t washed properly and sometimes still have food residue on them. Their phở is ok, I have had better broth for my phở.

Cash only!!! Came for the phở, ordered the rare beef and brisket beef phở and it was super flavorful, meat cooked appropriately. Also orders the spring rolls and prom egg rolls which were equally as delicious. The only down side was noticing it was cash only when I went to pay. Being that I had no cash on me, I had to drive across the street to BofA and pay a $ 3 convenience fee to get some cash out… annoying!

ohhh maahhh gawwwdddd… I don’t think I have ever left this high of a review for a phở restaurant! Do you like beef stew? I Loooove beef stew, American, Thai. Vietnamese. Stew in any culture is just hearty and feeds the soul! I have had my fair share of Bo Kho, and this Beef stew is by far the best I have had. I ordered the beef stew with ho fun noodles, and it was slap yo mama good! The noodles, the broth, the tender meat, bursting in flavor. I could go for a bowl right now. The only downside is that I only got one small sliver of carrot in my bowl. Oh well though! We turned around midway through the meal, and there was actually a line out the door waiting for tables. 5 – 10 minutes later, I peeked back again, and everyone waiting had already been seated and found a table. This was around noon on a Saturday. I will totally be back when I’m in the mood for Beef Stew. My buddies all had Phở and they said it was pretty good too.

Pros — decent customer service(actually got my water refilled) and they don’t rush you to order! — Restaraunt is a good size, not crammed — Phở broth is yummy’ — they have BBH(pig feet too) Cons– cash only, cash only Lately, me and the girlfriends vietnamese restaraunts have been failing us… Sad yes. Very sad. So we started exploring other options. We came across this establishment that had decent amount of reviews and a good amount of positive reviews as well. We were seated immediately and they were very kind. We ordered spring rolls(A5) bon bue hue, and Phở combo #2. The spring rolls were decent, they really didn’t taste fresh and the pork inside the rolls were dry. I wouldn’t get these again. My phở bowl was delicious, the meat was tender, broth was on point, it didn’t taste as if it was microwaved and had the perfect temperature. So delicious! My gf loved her Bön bue hue also. She said it was rare to find pigs feet in it so she was happy. The owners made sure to keep our water filled :). A great thing to know is that the food comes out rather fast. Only bad thing is that it is cash only here, it can be a hassle if you don’t have cash so be sure to stop by the ATM!

Another standard Vietnamese restaurant, IMO. The boyfriend and I came around 3pm and there were many open tables so I cannot testify for this place’s popularity. We ordered a combination phở, egg rolls, and chicken wings. The combination phở was OK, the broth was wasn’t too greasy and only had small amounts of MSG which is good compared to other phở places I’ve visited. The wings were a disappointment though; it was over-friend and the chicken was dry. My favorite had to be the egg rolls. Loveeee that it comes with lettuce so I can wrap it together. Fish sauce wasn’t too sweet or salty either, a nice balance indeed: P. This place could improve. I’m not against returning again but it definitely lacks the WOW factor.
