I’m Cuban so I’m surprised I didn’t hear about this place sooner. I ordered an egg sandwich with fries and it was delicious!!! It was fresh and made the way I requested. I knew when he was wrapping my baby up, that it was getting 5 stars on Unilocal.Then I met their mother. LAWD!!! What I expected to be a flawless checkout, was actually an unexpected trip back to 1880. First, you clearly see it in her eyes that she was not fond of me, as I approached her. I couldn’t figure out why so I brushed it off and continued to the register. I politely said hi, and she gave me the same look of death, she gave me when I was approaching. So the light bulb flashed and the thought of me being black crossed my mind as the reason. NO WAY!!! I’m 100% Cuban. Asere!!! We go way back. I laughed it off. I handed her the money and she threw my change on the counter as if it were less than the value of what its worth. Now I confirmed, it was bc I was black. Coño!!! She must be from Matanzas (Cuban Insider). Sad to say, I doubt I will ever return. I know my $ 10 are worth $ 10 somewhere in this neighborhood. Don’t take the rating personal. Its just business.

Let me say this, I have gone to Miami in search of the best Cuban sandwich. Little did I know it was in a corner deli in union city. I cannot stress how AMAZING the Cuban sandwich at this place is. The bread is buttered and toasted with just the right amount of spicy mustard, the most elegant and crispy slices of pickle. All accompanied by just the perfect amount of melted cheese on top of deliciously fresh ham and pork. I’m telling you, this is a treasure of union city and jersey as a whole. Pressed and toasted on fresh bread all I needed was a mojito to feel like I was transported to Cuba itself!!! I can’t say much about the rest of the food because I myself have not had it.
I can’t come to this place and NOT order the Cuban!!! Amazing!!!

This is a great place for lunch or breakfast right across the street from City Hall. I highly recommend the Cerdo Asado sandwich (Roast pork). Great quality, fresh ingredients on a hero roll for $ 5!
