BV Family Dental

This dentist robs you. I am fully covered by medi-​cal but at every visit they take $ 30 at the door. Then if you need work on a tooth, they charge $ 30 PER TOOTH. BV dental said I had a couple cavities, but I went to another dentist and they said I had NONE! They showed me my X-​rays and it showed ZERO cavities
What is my insurance for? They LIED TO ME about cavities to STEAL my money.

I wore Invisalign thorough BV Dental & Cosmetic Dentistry from July 2014 through March 12, 2015. After about a week of finishing and only having to wear the retainer mostly at night, even though they told me to continue to wear day time as well, I developed TMJ (TMD) Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction. I have been suffering with severe pain in both jaws ever since March 2015. I explained to them at my last appointment March 12, 2015, for my last tray getting the retainer, that my teeth did not line up correctly. My bite was way off! The top and bottom on the left side did not touch correctly and felt irregular as did the right side as well when I would try to bite. I stopped wearing the retainer in early July due to the pain I was having! I went to my own Dr, who had me start PT for my jaw in June and then I started acupuncture in July, both every week since. While BV Dental had told me they would give me a referral to an Orthodontist who specializes in TMJ patients. They NEVER DID! Now, It is October and I am still in severe pain. This has effected my quality of life deeply. I was asymptomatic before I ever wore the Invisalign I did not have any TMJ pain. I had a lot of pain and discomfort during the 8 mos of wearing the Invisalign. I told them I grind my teeth and that my jaw pops. You could clearly hear it pop when I would open and close it. Not to mention, I informed them, I have Fibromyalgia to boot and should have never been considered a good candidate for Invisiglin, but was told by BV Dental I could wear Invisilign. So I went with their recommendation to straiten my teeth. Yet they had me proceed to wear the Invisilign for my 8 month treatment plan, day and night, which then caused my asymptomatic TMJ (which had no pain at that time) to activate in a chronic way. Over 7 months latter and I am still in pain every day and night. I now have to take 3 medication every day which do not totally eliminate my pain and are difficult on my liver and kidneys. I am completely devastated over this. So I hope my experience can help you in making your dental decision. Although the staff had always been very nice and accommodating to me up until this happened. My life has been changed forever due to this in the worst way. I will not return here. I am not even able to open and hold my mouth open for a cleaning anymore. My Jaw and teeth have slightly moved to a position were I can at least chew some foods. Although chewing still inflames my TMJ and the pain escalates after chewing/​eating anything. I ice my jaw, both sides several times a day everyday. The frozen feel is only a slightly better feel than the pain.

I have been coming here for 2 – 3 years. I love them. I like how flexible they are with appointments. I can call or email them any of my concerns. Also getting my Invisalign treatment today! Yay!

Dr. Virks office and staff have grown a lot over the years and with it has come with lots of up selling and everyone working on you other than Dr. Virk. The work done by the staff has been substandard. Dr. Virk failed to take responsibility for the shady work that was done and the fillings that fell off. The customer service attempts are ok, but they schedule you without confirming a date with you. I would’ve never scheduled an appointment on the day after Christmas.

The fact that the dental office just called my review fake is pretty stupid. My tooth infection didn’t seem fake one bit.

It’s always a pleasure to visiting Dr. Virk & her staff. They always make us feel comfortable and they explain the procedures and treatments needed.

In responce to previous review by RoseT… Sometime we as patients do not understand the Insurance contracts and co-​pays. we should not make these type of comments unless we are sure about what we are talking about!

Zero star is what this place deserves. Some staff are very rude and know nothing about what they are doing. They lie about the work that has to be done and charge more from your insurance. They lie saying that you have a co pay because they over charge your insurance. Be aware about this place. I am alerting every one I know about this place. At least 9 friends of mine are not going back there.

WARNING!!! The doctor will have procedures done even if it’s NOT needed, just to get Money!!! (As stated in other Reviews)
I been to several dental offices and this is by far the WORSE! I am so upset I had several fillings done that were not needed! I realized this after a few thoughts and wonders of why other dentist’s have not recommend for me to get a fill, but all of a sudden I needed SEVERAL after my FIRST appointment here!!! I had no pain, no issues before. But the doctor here stated «since they’re small I will not have any pain yet.» (Which my naïve self, at that believed).
I ended up getting three fillings done here, when technically I needed four! I decided to switch my dentist to a different office since I felt very suspicious of the in accurate «cavities» I had. (I’ve had ONE fillings my whole life, total now four, thanks to this place). I saved one «cavity» for my new dentist to check if they can see a cavity too.
Anyhow, came to my first dentist appointment today at a NEW/​different dental office and I brought up the issue and asked if I had any cavities. The dentist stated, no I have strong enamel. I brought up the issue of how my old dentist (this place) said I had one left (which I saved and never got filled) to see if they were accurate with their analyze. Which to my instinct was true! BV dental was completely wrong!!!
This office basically took money from me and my insurance for in accurate reason!!! Also, their routinely cleanings suck!!! I would NEVER come back here again! Nor will I recommend this place to anyone! Unless you’re ignorant enough to get robbed for no reason!!!
P. S. Some employees here are also rude! Not going to mention any names tho!

My teenage son has been a patient of this dental practice for a year. The first time we came here we had an appointment and it took the staff over an hour to seat him. It wasn’t until I said something that they finally sat him. This place is always busy and it seems as if they are very unorganized. After the appointment my son told me that once he was sat they forgot about him again and then an assistant spotted him sitting in the dental chair and apologized for the wait and she let him know their was some missed communication. I did give this office a couple stars because my son said the dental hygienist was good so that’s a plus.
They are not personable at all, they are too busy for that. If you are looking for a good family dentist who will know you when you walk in, look elsewhere. This is not the place.
My son has only had x-​rays and cleanings here but no extensive dental work.

I really like Dr Virk and her staff. They provide excellent service at great rates. My husband even got Invisalign through her and so far he’s really satisfied with the work.
She provides you with fair prices and does not try to add on any costs. She even gave us a free water bottle when we first signed up :)
Lastly she has great office equipment. Everything’s high end and almost brand new. If you’re looking for a new dentist I highly recommend checking out dr Virk.

This is my first visit here. They have state of the art facility with most modern equipments. Dr. Virk is very knowledgeable and experienced dentist. Staffs and assistants were very courteous. They thoroughly examined my teeth and explained to me all options available. As a courtesy they even cleaned my denture free.

After going to 6 different dentist, and not being told that I had everything from fractured roots to bone loss, I felt ashamed of not only my dental condition, but also my smile. I could not smile and found people think I am angry, or upset as well as I having to endure a lifetime of negative comments and conclusions… I desperately needed a better self image and wanted to make a change but found that I would first have to endure a series of expensive procedures before any dentist would help improve my bite. When I found Dr Virk, her office was closed, yet I was graciously given a tour and set up with an appointment. I found Dr. Virk to be very approachable and open. She removed my old silver fillings and replaced them with the artistry of a sculptress, and provided a deep cleaning in one visit, saving me time and money. I now am 6 months in my Invisaline and people are asking me for my dentist name. I have a lot of work to do but my smile is now becoming my best feature. Dr. Virk has been a GodSend in my life. I now have a reason to smile. :-)

Great dentist, great staff! Dr. Virk and her staff made sure I got the treatment I needed and I was comfortable while doing so. It’s great to be able to go in on a Saturday, so I don’t need to miss work.

I personally would ever refer anyone to this dentist. It takes so long for staff to call you back. This dentist took money from my dental insurance for work that wasn’t even done! It took forever for that money to go back into my account! I personally think she is money hungry!

It’s been about 3+ years since I’ve seen the dentist. I don’t know what my fear is but I finally built up enough courage to walk down to the 2^nd floor from my office to make an appointment for last Monday. This place is set up very nicely, dentist chairs facing out the window and if you don’t like the scenery then just check out what’s playing on the flat screens. I didn’t enjoy the x-​rays too much but the cleaning was a breeze, waterlase I believe it was. My teeth felt great and no cavities or major issues probably thanks to the combination of my Oral B power toothbrush and Sensodyne toothpaste.
Dr. Virk is definitely an honest professional. Before I came here, 3 years ago the dentist said I had a cavity. I never addressed the issue and this time around, no cavity. Makes me wonder… I noticed a sensitivity issue the past year, didn’t say a word and Dr. Virk caught it. Advised I had some enamel wear and recommended to put a protective layer over it. She also noticed two chips on two teeth (metal forks are not edible) and asked if I wanted to fix them. Today she solved all these issues in less than 30 painless minutes. I feel like I have a new grill. Layered, filled, grinding, etc. with no unnecessary shots. She just rubbed a numbing agent where I was having the enamel work done. Next appointment is already scheduled for July and they conveniently have text messaging reminders!

Dr. Amandeep Brar Virk is as good as it gets! She is very professional and really cares about her patients. Even brand-​spanking NEW ones that are/​were in pain until she was able to get to them, such as in the b/f’s case.
It was a holiday weekend and the b/​f was totally suffering from a root canal that he didnt know he had to get done at the time since he has not been to the dentist in like forever! She was able to see him on the holiday weekend, late of course, but enough to see him to have him sleep comfortably at night till he came back the next day. Phew!
We both went back and she basically took care of everything. Of course not all at once, but all within sessions thoughout the weeks to fully help him recovery from all the years of not seeing a dentist. She was very committed in providing quality care and help ease his pain AND FEAR of the dentist.
The office and dental area is in top-​notch shape with high tech, state of the art equipment. Im really happy that she was there in time of need and very impress with her and how knowledgable, professional and gentle she was with everything!
I have my own dentist I go to, but she would be my 2^nd in line for work done on my teeth for sure!
