Ambassador Veterinary Hospital

My family has been taking our pets to Ambassador for over ten years. This is a small family run business with a lot of personalized attention. Whenever I come in they ask about my parents dog and vice versa. They have both morning hours and late evening hours and are closed mid day. They are open on Saturday and Sunday which is super helpful. I’ve called the doctor a ton of times for advice and him and his wife are always happy to help.
The only downside is parking isn’t readily available.

My cat needed his rabies shots updated prior to us moving in to our new apartment (building management required it) and they were able to squeeze us in last minute on a Thursday afternoon. Their hours are different than most veterinary hospitals, so be mindful of that. The doctor and his wife (?) work in a small space but they are both very nice and attentive. They will try to get you to get some additional services, but I believe it’s all in the best interest of the pet they are examining. If you say no to any additional service, they are nice about it and won’t push you.
Their fees are reasonable and the doctor was fast so that my already-​jittery cat didn’t freak out even further. I wish we weren’t moving, otherwise I’d definitely bring my cat here again.

I’d been taking my dog to Dr. Krish since I adopted him a little over 1 year ago, so we have been several times. I took my dog to several area vets and this is the 1 place where he was most relaxed (he would shake with anxiety at other ones). The first time they gave him a shot, he was muzzled, but after that, no more muzzles; now I just hold him during any procedures.
Service is prompt and friendly, prices are reasonable. Appointments & hours are convenient, and they call you back quickly in an emergency. I was traveling once, left a message and got a call right back.
There was recently a fire there so there, so the doors are currently closed, but hopefully they will open again soon. It was very important to me to have extended hours/​on call care.

I’ve been going to this Vet since 2007. I can honestly say, that I haven’t experienced any discontent and/​or lack of passion towards my Shih-​Tzu Yorkie Mix whenever he is in the Doctor’s care. I guess and after reading other commentator’s comments, each person’s experience is different. However, as mentioned, Dr. Krish has been my dog Taz, primary Vet since 2007, and I am content with his services thus far.

This vet happens to be a short distance walk from my home. When I found a button cyst on her leg I freaked out. At the time I didn’t know what it was. So I made a quick appointment because our car was down at the time and they were close by.
HUGE mistake.
Not only did he definitely NOT care about my dog or have a gentle hand whatsoever… he muzzled her!!! I can understand this for violent dogs but my dog is NOT violent. My regular vet NOR groomer EVER muzzles my dang dog. and this was just to check her leg! he does inform me that the cyst is nothing to worry about. Just a button oen and it will fall off. Thank goodness! ($ 70 bucks for this note!) he then tells me she needs her nails clipped as they are going to harm her and chastizes me so badly that I consent albeit reluctantly as I so wanted to leave… within the first two clips and her SCREAMING through the muzzle I realized it was time to GO!!! He basically then held my dog hostage while he finished not listening to me… he cut the quick on TWO possibly THREE nails. I’m just in awe this man is still in business.
I need a vet who cares about his patients… both mommy/​daddy and the pet.
Never again.
PLEASE IF YOU’RE READING THIS DOCTOR, TRY TO CARE! Realize people LOVE their pets, even if YOU DON’T!
Total price of this horrid visit was $ 125. I still feel like a jackass.

I have been going to Dr. Krish for 14 years because I am not doing well financially and he was the most reasonable vet I can find close to Jersey City Heights. I have indeed found him to be kind and compassionate, though I have never had a pet put down. I actually appreciate that he gets to the point quickly and is able to find problems without doing 20,000,000 blood tests.
I took my precious little 3 year old kitty in last night and was appalled to find an ulcer on her tongue. He gave me meds and a vaccine and told me what it was but didn’t really explain what that meant. I wish he would give a more thorough explanation but at the same time, I am happy he doesn’t rape me with tests and procedures that I really cannot afford.

NO COMPASSION WHATSOEVER!
What Veterinarian doesn’t realize how difficult the decision is to put your dog down? Shouldn’t there be some affirmation from the doctor that you are doing the best thing for your precious dog and some tenderness shown to the dog as well? Instead, we were rushed into the exam room, a muzzle was placed on our pup’s mouth, his leg roughly shaved, first injection given for sedation, lethal injection right afterwards without giving us a second to say goodbye. He could have taken the muzzle off after the first injection and given us a moment with our guy. It was just a heartbreaking experience made gut-​wrenching by his complete lack of compassion. We weren’t even out of the office when he was asking his assistant for a bag! A very sad experience was made so much worse by this completely insensitive jackass.

Dr. Krish has been my cats vet for about 9 years. Very pleased with his staff and service. Decent prices and great hours. Open Sunday mornings at no extra charge. I trust him, which is very important when you deal with animals because they can’t speak for themselves. His practice is limited to dogs and cats only, which is fine for me. If you are looking for a vet who serves you chai lattes and gives foot massages, this isn’t the place to go. If you are looking for a good vet at reasonable prices, this is the place to go.
08÷24÷14 Dr. Krish has temporarily relocated to 3405 Park Ave in Union City until the water and fire damage to his usual location is repaired!!!
