Found these guys through Thumbtack for a last-​minute move of a large, heavy table and chairs. I spoke to Steve on a Tuesday night and they were able to accommodate me the next morning. Their truck was super clean and they were extremely careful with the table and chairs. Their rate was very reasonable and didn’t include a surcharge for fuel/​mileage, which was nice and that helped them stand out from the competition. They were also both friendly and respectful, and Steve’s lovely English accent was a delight. Bottom line, I wouldn’t hesitate to hire them again for a small job like this.

Steve and Albion Moving and Storage did an outstanding job in helping us move a few large pieces of furniture, plus a few extra items, all with great care and efficiency. They arrived on time, were very nice, and had the best rate from all other places I got a quote from around the Bay Area. Would definitely use Albion again for any large moving jobs.

How often does anyone ever BRAG about how good their movers were?! I mean, normally it’s a difficult experience at best, an exceedingly stressful time… and generally filled with so much upheaval, loose ends and countless details. The concept itself explains the least grounding exercise you’ve ever been through. You are literally in the process of MOVING your existence. Even if its 1 continent. or 1 mile away.
Now imagine an experience where the folks executing this ridiculous exercise ARE grounded, are unbelievably skilled in what they do, exude an incredible confidence in moving your Mount Rushmore — rock by rock, as it is… and do it all with no bull — -, no whining… and an Old World work ethic you almost never find anymore!
THOSE folks are Steven Ridgway and Albion Moving and Storage!
Steven and Albion moved my ridiculousness 2 weeks ago… and I truly have not stopped talking about what an amazing job they did. So much so, that people I have spoken to have already hired them for their move!
I’m in my 50s, with 5 decades of «stuff» (as the famous George Carlin routine goes!) with 2 teenage boys, 2 dogs and a girlfriend (in a separate location) that Albion moved into another (bigger) home in the same city. I take a lot of pride in my designer furnishings and did my best researching and choosing the right company for the job.
I knew 10 minutes after meeting Steven at our initial move assessment, that he was the guy. I come from the Midwest (Chicago) and over the years I’ve further developed the darn good BS Meter I was born with. I truly felt nothing but Green Lights from Steven from the very start — and it stayed that way the entire process!
I had a complicated Close of Escrow… and Steven stayed right with me through all the stops and starts. And when it was finally time to go – Steven and Albion Moving were right there, right with me… right on time. And they moved my existence with incredible skill, expediency and (like I said) confidently. Once the process started, there was no negotiating, no complaining, no hand wringing… just men getting the job… DONE!
I can’t put it any simpler. Moving sucks. The entire process sucks. Steven and the Albion guys were my Shining Beacon in the heat of that battle. And I am unconditionally appreciative for that.

Just used them and I’m very unsatisfied. We were told a team of 4 would show up to help us move, but it was just two older men. Granted, they knew how to load furniture, but they were very rude and extremely grumpy. They complained that we had «too much stuff» and quit before the job was done. Ended up charging us over $ 800 and didn’t even finish the job. Not worth it.

Not sure what happened but these old men should not be in the moving business. They were slow, unfriendly, unaccommodating and expensive. The brand new sofa I’ve just custom ordered arrived dirty… boxes were left behind at the old location so I had to come back the next day and carry them using my own car… the other brand new cabinet got all crooked and messed up. They were so slow that I had to hire extra people to help with the move and speed things along since I was billed by the hour.
In retrospect, wish I had just rented a Uhaul truck and hire a few college students to help with the move. Would have been A LOT cheaper and faster. Not sure how these other people gave them good review. It was by far the Worse move I’ve ever experienced in the past 20 years.

They were amazing! Such hard working movers! Let me just say that it is extremely hard to find this type of a hard working company so focused on coming in and just getting right down to business! LOVED THEM! five stars!

We used them on July 23, 2012 to move from Moraga to Santa Cruz. They were clear communicators, had good equipment, arrived as promised, got right to it, worked steadily, and got the job done in a reasonable, timely way. They charged at the rate we had been quoted over the telephone and took good care of our things. I would definitely call them again and will recommend them to my friends.

1 star for getting my stuff to my new place without breaking anything. Let me just say there must be a reason why this company only has 2 reviews. The two posting might be from family or friends or maybe they got these guys when they were not in a bad mood.

The best moving company I have ever used. They are on time and very reasonable. Steve and Collin did all the heavy lifting and nothing was damaged. I can say that I am very happy with Albion moving professionalism. I have found the only movers I will use. The price was great as well.
