History

Established in 2013.

Type 2 Translate LLC was started by a US Army Veteran Linguist while stationed in Daegu, South Korea as a means to assist fellow service member’s and their families by providing affordable high-​quality translation services. Type 2 Translate has grown as an international, web-​based translation platform with hundreds of the worlds greatest linguistic talent and a veteran project management team.

Meet the Business Owner

Matthew N.

Business Owner

Matthew Nelson is the founder of Type 2 Translate and the acting Senior Project Manager. He started his linguistic career while serviing in an active duty capacity with the United States Army and is a graduate of the Chinese Basic Course at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center at the Presidio of Montery, CA.

While serving in Daegu, South Korea, a colleague needed his soon to be wife’s birth certificate translated and didn’t know who to turn so he went to Matt. Matt then started to network with fellow linguists and formed the initial group which became the digital translation agency Type 2 Translate has become today.

Matthew still maintains a role with the United States Army and works with the US Army Reserve as a Mission Manager for the Reach Language Support Program.
