The office staff is great and will work with you. They are super nice, but not the only saving grace. The apartments are the biggest you’ll get in Tyler for the price. They have closets that are as big as rooms, and honestly I’d rather have bigger rooms and sacrifice closet space, but that’s beside the point. You could in all honesty use a closet as a game room. They were built in the 70s, so cable was just becoming a thing. What this means is that many apartments have only a single cable outlet. The local cable company will NOT run cable to other rooms in apartment complexes due to not wanting to oversaturate nodes(more lines means they will lose signal leading to poorer quality service). This is a beef with the local cable company, not with Royalcrest, though. You can run lines yourself if you know how, or have contractors run lines. It can be pricey, but if you’re willing to spend a couple hundred dollars on the contractor, you should be able to get it done. This is an area where the management is super nice and willing to work with you. They will allow some customization. This also really just depends on which individual apartment. many of them have had lines run, so it’s a good question to ask when coming in. Recently, there have been issues with the water lines and every other week they are having to shut down the water for half a day or so while they try to fix it. It’s really not inconvenient at all and they give plenty of warning. It’s only happened once that the water was off for more than 24 hours, and they worked with the residents about that. This should be solved soon, so if you’re reading this after 08/15, then just ask the office ladies. They’re honest and will let you know what is happening there. Despite these very minor issues, there’s honestly no place I’d rather live in Tyler than here. The friendly staff far outweighs any problems(and no matter where you live, there will be problems). If you decide on moving here, let them know Wil sent you.

I lived at Royal Crest for about 3 years until I bought my house. The apartments are huge and there’s a lot of storage space. The only real complaint is my upstairs apartment was hard to keep cool in the summer. But other than that I loved my apartment. You really can’t find a bigger one bedroom apartment for the price we paid. Pretty quiet neighborhood. Management was super nice and friendly. Maintenance handled problems pretty quickly.
