I’ve used this salon many times in the past because I was told by a friend that it was clean and offered a good pedicure. I went in for pedicures with my sister and daughter on 7÷8÷15. The tech I got talked to the other tech during my entire pedicure. The pedicure is supposed to include a leg scrub and leg massage. The tech was so busy talking she barely did the scrub or massage. She was literally just lightly tapping the sides of my toes and feet. When it was time to paint them, she barely applied the base coat, did a messy paint job and didn’t even clean up the edges. I complained at the front desk after the service and the girl ran my card and shrugged off the complaint. I asked for a contact number for the manager and the desk clerk said she’d call the owner up to the counter The owner came up and was completely unresponsive. She didn’t apologize, offer a discount or any other remedy. I told her I’ve been to her store repeatedly and never had such terrible service and she just looked at me. I have contacted my bank to dispute the charge for my pedicure. I’m happy to pay for my daughter’s pedicure because the services her tech rendered were in keeping with the standard of service promised, but will definitely be looking for a refund for my experience. I’d have been happy with a 50% discount, but the fact that they ran my card anyway after I complained and was waiting for a manager and then said manager had zero response but a blank stare has me completely incensed.

I am a frequent client but my favorite friend and nail tech was booked. The nail tech taking care of me on 3−14−15 was surly and rough. She could not get the gel to harden and blamed me for it, telling me I was«holding my fingers the wrong way.» She had to remove it and start over and was very rough in filing the tops of my nails with a very rough emory board. She hit my cuticles over and over. The final outcome looked like cadaver nails but after sitting there for 2 hours I didnt care. My only regret is that I tipped her.(WHAT was I thinking?) I called when I got home though and scheduledan appointment for 3−16−15 with my friend. When I arrived she was only about ¼th of the way through a pedi with another client. The owner,(Lee) wrapped my nails in foil with cotton and soaked them with acetone, which burned all of the cuts and splits spots that Kim, on the 14th had opened up with her rough filing. I told Lee that it was hurting and she replied, «no it’s not.» Well, yes it was. She left me with the nails wrapped up and buringing for 40 minutes while the pedicure was being done. When my friend was finished with the pedi, she told Lee that the client now wanted her to do a mani. What happened to appointments? Evidently Nails by Lee knows how to take an appointment, just not how to keep an appointment. I finally took the foil off, my nail beds burned and stung, told Lee I felt that all of the repeated chemicals form 3 gel manicures and removals in 2 days and all of the filing on top Well, she is the expert on how my nails were feeling and how they looked. :-(I asked to be reimbursed for the gel manicure and left. My nails look terrible, like cadaver nails. It looks as if they are damaged and the gel polish is still clininging to the nail beds in spots. If I ever return to NBL, it will never be with a nail tech other than my friend. Right now, it is doubtful. Also, they recently raised their prices exponetially and started using the service«menu» system so many of the less classy ubiquitous nail salons use on every corner. The care and time that they put into their services was the one reason I kept returning. Now, the once standard pedi services are classified as the most pricey, and the price jumoed from 32 to 45. It looks like the Lees are getting greedy.

My mother-in-law took us to Nails by Lee for a mani/pedi this weekend. I was nervous about it, based on the significant number of one-star reviews. But it’s her favorite place, so off we went… Pros: 1) The location is much larger than it appears from the inside, with plenty of seating. 2) Well staffed(at least on the Saturday afternoon that we went). 3) Very clean. The staff opened all of the instrument packages in front of us, wore gloves, cleaned the foot bath baths in front of us before and after use. 4) Friendly polite staff. They joked with us and were kind. 5) The pedicure chairs are MASSAGE chairs. Hello relaxation! Wish-I’d-Knowns: 1) You need to pick your polish before you sit down. We walked right past the polish wall on the way to the pedicure area, but no one pointed it out and told us to select our preferred color then. It was very tough to verbally describe what color I wanted while sitting with my feet in the soaking tub. 2) The price. I felt the prices were reasonable, but I would have liked a price menu posted(or even better — a price menu sheet near the pedicure area) so we could make informed choices about what we did and did not want. All in all, it was a good experience and I would go back if I’m in Tyler visiting family.

I love this salon. Ask for Kelli or Kimey they are great. They charge a little more than some salons but they really take their time with you. They give the longest leg and foot massages in town!

Great place I discovered from hearing great reviews from co-workers and friends. I often pop in here about once a month after work(say 5:30−7) for either a medi or pedi, or both. Overall appearance is clean and tidy. Simple décor that’s to the point and not excessive. Girls at front always greet me with a smile. No appointment necessary. I’ve never had to wait more than three to five minutes for a service. Beverage is always offered, though I never accept because I never need it. I’m not very picky and never choose a specific manicurist, but overall experience of service depends on whom I’m given. I do have some favorites and I’ve never had a horrible experience. Some are more precision and detailed centered than others. Some spend more time in massage while others are quick. If I want both a mani and pedi, they do it simultaneously, which saves much time. Overall my nails always look great. I only wish they had an area where my nails could have time to dry. By the time I’m in my car and buckle my seat belt, a nail or two are ruined. Price is very reasonable, considering I used to pay double in Dallas. Staff is very welcoming and nice. Always asks how I’m doing. Some are more talkative than others, but I don’t mind. The only major downside is parking is very limited. Nails by Lee is located in a plaza surrounded by the gym, Chili’s, and a Navy/Marines recruitment office.

Skip this place! Long waits with an appointment and even longer without. We went on Saturday afternoon. Daughter in-in and I did a walk in with no appointment on a Satudat afternoon with intentions of the full mani and pedi. We were told to go back and have a seat and It wound be about 10 – 15 minutes. No problem. We had our feet in the swirling warm water and adjusted our big massaging chairs. After 45 minutes our water was cold and we were tired of waiting. Finally my daughter –in-law got someone to start on her. I took my feet out of the cold water and waiting another 20 minutes before someone came to me. I said I had decided not to do mine because my daughter-in-law would have to wait too long for me to finish and we had been there too long. She says that it only takes LESS than 30 minutes. I don’t want a rushed up pedicure. Not when they start at $ 32. and go up with the parifin treatment or a design added to your toe or anything else. My daughter in law decided to skip the mani too because she would have to wait again for another person to do it. Who knows how long that would be. Not my first time to leave this place because of the long wait. They do have a lot of clients and not nearly enough workers. They speak to each other in Vietnamese so we have no idea if they are talking about you Very rude and they don’t care if you are there or not. Just running the people through to get the dollars. There is no order in which they choose to take you we saw people get waited on with no appoitment before others and other people come in and not get waited on in thier turns. I have very big concerns about the sanitation in this place. There was also water leaking out of pipes in the wall behind the chairs running all between the chairs on the floor and they were just wiping it up with the same towels they use for the customers. Garbage cans between the chairs were running over along with the water on the floor making for and danger of sliding down in the water trying to get in and out of the chairs. Our shoes were wet and we had to keep our purses off the floor too. Of course I would output my purse on the flooring this dirty floored place anyway. So save your money for a better place that will appreciate your business. I will never go back to Nails By Lee again! There are lots of choices of much cleaner nail salons in Tyler so why put up with this place? Not sure how they stay in business with the state inspections?

Dont do it nooooo noooooo! This place is fairly expensive and not worth it. I was taken here by a local gal and she said she prefers it because she feels unlike other places the staff doesn’t trash talk you in another language while you sit there. However I disagree. My main problem with this place is they really dont give a damn if you’re being helped or not. My friend got her nails soaked off and they had her sit there for like 45 minutes and then she wanted a manicure which they sped through and when they polished her nails they must’ve put on five coats in all of polishes etc. and it bled and smudged easily and yeah she wasn’t happy. I had a full set of nails put on and really didn’t like the look of them in the end. Not to mention it took an hour and a half to get them done and by the end the manager was doing them with the nail technician it took her so long. Oh and the parking in this place isn’t easy… theres minimal spaces available because of the Chilis and the gym.
