Lowes always has what I need — light bulbs and trash can liners to yard equipment; in fact, they always have a great selection on Christmas décor. I’ve even bought gift cards for restaurants, shopping and gasoline stations at the Tyler location. If you don’t feel you are receiving enough service attention, look around for the red vest people or go to a check out booth. Trust me, these folks are willing to help you.

Whoa lots of bad reviews here. I don’t agree. This is my go to hardware store. I feel like I’m cheating when I step in to Home Depot. The complaints on bad service may be accurate. I wouldn’t argue that. I typically only ask employees the general area for whatever it is I’m looking for. On the good side: –the store is clean and organized. –checkout lines are rarely very long. –physical location of the store is convenient

I wish I could give no stars. I went to Lowe’s last night in search of ice melt since we *may* get some ice this weekend.(I live on the second floor, so need it to get in and out of my apartment.) I first called to make sure they had it. I was transferred around to different departments for about 20 minutes, until I finally learned that they did have it. When I arrived, I went to customer service and asked where I could find ice melt. They directed me to plumbing where there were bags of salt, but the wrong kind of salt. I found a gentleman in plumbing who initially tried to help me find it. He also admitted that customer service it terrible there. We found someone else who said it was on a palette some where. They then proceeded to argue over who didn’t want to help me the most. The guy who lost and had to help me was putting away some things, and said, «You’ll have to give me some time. It’s going to take a while.» Given the fact that he was just arguing with another employee and neither one of them wanted to help me, I opted to leave. This is the second major hardware retailer(the first was Home Depot) that has turned away my business because the employees didn’t want to be bothered. I will NEVER go back to a Lowe’s again. I’m shocked that in this economy Lowe’s is doing so well that it’s turning away customers. It’s Mom and Pop hardware stores from here on out.

Every time I have to go to Lowe’s because they carry something we need that Home Depot doesn’t I cry a little. The service here, minus maybe two employees, is the absolute worst. If you can’t find something you are out of luck because it is hard to track down an associate and even if you do they act like it’s just so inconvenient for you to ask them for help. I went for a plumbing part one time and finally found someone to ask where it was. His oh so helpful reply«should be in plumbing. It’s towards the back» and walked off. Couldn’t find what I needed so I left and went to Home Depot where the associates will actually help you without attitude. This Lowe’s needs a ton of help in the customer service department. I wish Home Depot carried every home product ever so I don’t have to spend my money here.

If my wife doesn’t come to Lowe’s with me I can’t get any one to help us. This place is a complete disgrace. Don’t bother trying to buy anything out of the garden center. The line is long and backed up with one cashier every time. I bought wood laminate flooring at Lowe’s and made arrangements for their installer to lay it all down. He did it incorrectly. Didn’t put the leveling stuff down and didn’t leave a bit of a gap along the wall to allow for expansion. The flooring buckled and warped. It took a year to get Lowe’s to redo the floor. Never hire Lowe’s for flooring install. If they screw it up it is a complete nightmare of red tape.

I received a telephone call yesterday from a store manager who heard me out and seemed genuinely concerned. He promised to retrain the employee on proper treatment of coworkers and customers. I appreciate that he took the time to call. With that call he retained my business and increased his store’s rating to a solid 3 stars.

Gary, the manager, is a great guy, but service and check-out are slow!

You better know what you want or need, and where it is. Because you will not be able to find a Blue Shirt when you need it. Or as in my case, they’ll walk right past you as if you’re not there. I recently went to this store to buy supplies for a painting project, and once I got there, I was totally clueless. It ain’t as simple as it might seem. I’m sure I looked baffled trying to figure out the type of roller brush and frame I needed, tape, etc., etc. But there were three Blue Shirts that walked right past me without the faintest«Finding everything you need?» Not like it used to be. When will corporate management realize that good service will translate into good profits, then filter that down to the store level?
