The Salvation Army

I didn’t know about this location of the Salvation Army until I looked it up on Unilocal!I called, and Michelle answered and was nice addressing my questions about donations. I went there and found a donation box outside, that can take up to medium sized donations. You have to push it through a slot, so if there’s anything huge, I wouldn’t try shoving it in there. It’s convenient and right at the top of Portola and Pioneer. Michelle was nice enough to give me a donation slip for tax purposes. Better place to drop off your donations than Goodwill, which is just a self-​serving profit center.

Overall this is a good place for kids to attend after school & summer camp. The staffs are very friendly & attentive. It’s affordable & they always have activities for the kids after they’re done with homework.

A wonderful place of worship! The music is spectacular, 10:30 service time fits very well into Sunday mornings, and Captain Nigel Cross is an energetic pastor gifted to share the Bible with us. Wonderful changes have made this campus a great place to build community. Easy parking and an intimate feel.

Delighted to have the opportunity to provide my recommendation of The Salvation Army’s Tustin Ranch Corps (church) that is place of «service and worship». My family has been a member of this church since 1973… our 4^th generation is finding this to be an amazing experience on our spiritual walk and growth… terrific music, solid Christian Education and a strong and meaningful pulpit ministry. Join me for a new worship experience at 10:30 am every Sunday!

We have been with Salvation Army afterschool program for 2 years now. I haven’t been disappointed. Sara Read is amazing and I know I can count on her when I need to get a hold of her with any change of plans. She is easily reachable by email and text. She acknowledges every email & text I sent her. My daughter has been happy. I believe in «you get what you pay for» but there are services that offers an affordable yet has quality. I believe Salvation Army has it. Can’t please everyone. After using other afterschool programs, I realized there will be issues.

This review is for the Salvation Army Pick Up service, and in my area, I believe this address is their main headquarters. After two major moves and a few smaller pick ups, I am really disappointed. First, there is one man (I don’t know his name but the guys who come out with him usually roll their eyes when he speaks) who is extremely rude. I have spoken to other people in the Irvine area who have also dealt with him and they all have noted the same.
If I put my items out for pick up when I am not home, I don’t have any problems. My concerns have been with the major pickups from my garage during my past two moves. After the first move, I suspected that some stuff was taken from the garage that was clearly designated not to be donated. I let it go and chalked it up to an accident.
During my second move, my mother and husband were loosely following the pickup. They told the workers where the donated items were located and these were separate from other items. Well… after searching my storage and closets, I have realized that more items are missing. I’m not wealthy, so this is a loss to me. Maybe it’s a coincidence but when I put it together, it doesn’t look like it. No one had access to my items besides two family members and Salvation Army.
I have since learned that the workers come from the Anaheim Adult Rehab Center. As someone who has extensive experience working in the drug and alcohol field, as well as recovery, I know that sometimes a person gets clean but other behaviors don’t change unless they establish a solid recovery, which consists of much more than staying clean and/​or sober. I like Salvation Army’s option to schedule a pick up online, but next time I’ll probably use Goodwill.

My nieces attend the after school program here. After speaking to my sister, the pro (s) are:
–Affordable
–Kids are picked up from school and brought here
–The have great field trips and events
However, I am a little concerned whenever I come to pick them up. Things are always chaotic and the environment is quite disorganized. Sure, I have to «sign» my nieces out in a book but they never check ID and one can basically just scribble a name down. Kind of alarming as I’ve only picked them up a few times and I know the counselors are not familiar with me.
The counselors appear to be younger but I don’t place that as an excuse. Safety is a huge concern for me whenever my family is involved. As much as there are pro (s) to their program, I definitely have some concerns.
