My auto, boat, RV and bike detailing business specializes in complete reconditioning of exterior and interior surfaces of vehicles. Paint correction, swirl, scratch and defect removal, paint sealants and semi-​permanent coatings, leather and upholstery cleaning and conditioning are performed on vehicles from daily driver cars to Concours d’Elegance showcars. Additional services such as paintless dent repair, glass and rim repair, leather and upholstery repair are also offered. We are mobile and therefore perform our services at your home or place of work, whichever is more convenient to you.

History

Established in 1995.

Since the age of 9 I started to develop an interest in beautifying cars which I would perform as a weekend business in London. Then at university in Reading I developed a client base there which I serviced on Wednesdays to supplement my student grant income. After moving to Orange County in 1994 I learned the detailing profession through experience and with the help of mentors in the business.

My name is David Cox and I have a lot of affinity for esthetics and in beautifying things. Over the years I have also worked in sales and in Public Relations and in the gastronomie in England and in Germany and speak fluent German. Between working I graduated with a BA Honors Degree in German and Economics from the University of Reading, which included a year at the University of Konstanz in Germany.

My family includes 2 daughters and 2 horses. I further perform work in helping people to get off of drugs and render assistance in handling any problem that might be troubling them in life, such as marriage, school and education, work and finance.

He’s a gentleman detailer. Professional, fast, courteous and accommodating. David’s customer service is beyond compare. I gave him a tough job and he got it done at my place of business, to my satisfaction. He doesn’t try to upsell you silly services but is practical and honest. Dave is great. Came out to look at my car after I spilled a protein shake on the passenger seat. It wasn’t something he could take care of (it seeped deep into the upholstery). Instead of cleaning it anyway and charging me, he referred me to someone else for the job. Honesty is always a plus. When I do detail my car, it will definitely be with Dave.

After taking the car to 5 star Unilocal reviewed «hand car wash» in Tustin, the wash left the car with swirls and holograms. I used to handwash the car at home, but due to time constraints, had to rely on $ 20 car washes which ended being a major mistake.
Unilocaled around and contacted Dave at Royal Image Detailing. One thing that sets Dave apart is he listens and tells you up front what he can and cannot do. Meaning honest. In the end, Dave meticulously spent a lot of time, and the swirls, scratches, and holograms were removed. And honestly the price is was lower than I expected and is really fair.
I will definitely contact Dave again when the time comes where the car needs some extra TLC.

I was looking for a mobile auto detailer to clean and detail my car which I wanted to sell. I found a few detailers on Unilocal.I called and left messages with them on a Sunday evening. The only one who called back was Dave. He squeezed my car into his schedule the very next day. Upon his arrival, he conducted a 15 minute estimate to let me know what would need to be done. It took him about 4 and a half hours to wash and detail my car to look as good as new. When he was done, I was so happy his work that I even considered keeping my car instead of selling it! Dave is extremely meticulous and his service is top notch. Pricing is higher than I expected but you won’t be disappointed with the quality of his work. Keep in mind that if you decide to pay with a credit card, he will charge a service fee — I wouldn’t have brought this up but I gave him a pretty nice cash tip without knowing about the fee — so I just wish he had disclosed that in advance.

I decided to get Royal Image as Dave did not have a bad review. I was not disappointed. He spent alot of time and did a great job on my car including the headlights (did not know they could go from opaque to transparent!). Very trustworthy.

I found out about Royal Image from a recommendation of another detailer.
I had a 2005 Quest that in desperate need of TLC, so I could sell it. David Cox came to the house, inspected the vehicle, and gave me a far quote for the extensive work [Inside, outside, and engine].
While not cheap, his work is very focused and through. He hade a «silk purse out of a pig’s ear»!
I also had him do the 2009 Honda Accord that I had just bought. It had been sitting outside, neglected, for well over a year and he made it look new.
I am a very pleased customer. Excellent quality.

I never do Unilocal reviews. But Dave was so incredible that I had to share my great experience with him and Royal Image Mobile Detailing. I understand I have 0 reviews, so take it as you will.
I have a Honda Fit Sport. I bought it 6 years ago. I go to college, so the car has been through a lot. People have thrown up in the car, spilled drinks and food (including melted gummy bears), and the cars is always parked outside. Not to mention, this summer, I have completed over 3,000 miles of driving through Utah/​Arizona/​Nevada desert. It was in bad shape, and even that’s an understatement.
Dave was prompt in returning my phone call, and incredibly cordial. We schedule a time the following week that worked for both of us. He was going to come out to do a test spot and discuss services and pricing.
He arrived on time at my place in a van with all his supplies. The van isn’t the nicest, but he was excellent at demonstrating what he could (and also couldn’t) do. He gave me a great price, and got to work. I went to work, and he told me he would call when it was ready. I told him to take all the time he needed. This was at 8am.
I did not get called until 6pm. He spent over 10 hours with my car. And it looks incredible. We did a walk-​through, and he missed one small weird area on my parking brake. But the minute I pointed it out, he took care of it.
I want to note that he worked outside and in 95 degree heat.
I could not be happier. I tipped him 25%, and still feel like I got a great value.
Dave is one of the hardest working people I have seen, and he earns every penny. I was nervous getting my car detailed by a stranger, but my god, he blew my expectations out of the water.

I have an old beat up Tahoe, with 4 kids and all their friends, you can only imagine how gross it was. I have never had it detailed before. My husband told me «You can’t polish a turd» but he polished it and made it look so good, we don’t call it the turd-​mobile anymore! It looks amazing! Thank you so much!

Dave did a great job detailing my 2014 Lexus CT200h. He conditioned the inside of my ride leaving it looking hydrated as ever. I did my research and glad I went with Royal Image Detailing. This is a legit review. If you care about your car, have Dave work on it. He’s an honest guy and I totally trust his work. He got rid of the imperfections and didn’t miss not one spot.

I called Dave last week and set an appt for early today to fully detail my SUV. It’s been about 8 months since I last had a full detail and it was definitely time… Dave, again delivered! He was at my place for roughly 3.5 to 4 hours and did an amazing job! His attention to detail is really what sets him apart. Simply put, he’s a good guy, he knows his craft well, his pricing is more than fair and his work is worth every penny.

I have known Dave for over a decade and he does only high-​qualty work. He has not only services me, but I have seen his work on some very high end cars that look utterly spectacular when he is done. If you want the very best in detailing, then I highly recommend that you obtain his services right away.

Where is the button for six stars? Dave deserves it. I was having out of town company, and what started out as a simple car wash at the local carwash turned into the most amazing detailing job I have ever seen. Dave came out the day I called him, and gave me an estimate which made me almost faint! I am on a retired budget and explained that to Dave, and we out a compromise where I was able to afford the detailing job. I am not saying that Dave is overpriced; not by a longshot. You get what you pay for, and with Dave, after the entire job was done, I thought I was treated extremely fairly and he really deserved more than the price we agreed upon. I would have offered to pay him more had I not been on my retirement budget.
My SUV is about ten years old, and has had major, huge dogs in it since the day I bought it. I currently carry two 130 pound dogs, a Swissie and a Newfie, everywhere I go, so the dog hair in the car is impossible. Dave seemed to remove every strand of dog hair. I’ve never had a detailer able to do that. My SUV sits outside in the driveway, which is not ideal for the paint, but Dave made it look like I just drove it off the lot.
In short, I will say again, you get what you pay for. Dave’s service is certainly great value for money. I will use him again and again, and recommend him to everyone I know who is looking for a quality detailer.
Oh, did I mention that he’s an extremely nice, well educated and very polite guy? He is! Not bad lookin’ either! ;)

Wow! I called in desperation – my infant had just vomited curdled milk all over my car. It smelled horriffic immediately and was definitely starting to get worse within hours given the hot day. With a sick infant to take care of at home, I really couldn’t take the car anywhere to get cleaned. I called one mobile detailing service but they couldn’t get out that day. Eventually after a few more calls I was referred to Dave. He came out within 2 hours of being called.
I cannot begin to say enough good things about his level of service. First off, he spent hours and hours on my car, cleaning every nook and cranny, only leaving when it got dark. Then, he even came out the next day for a few hours to do even more detailing. I think he spent well over 8 hours. The level of detail was superb. He let us know that if we started to smell any of the milk later to contact him and he would do more work and he even called to follow up. We didn’t smell anything and my car looked amazing. Definitely the best it had looked since I bought it.
On top of all that, he’s a nice and friendly guy. I keep his card in my glove compartment because I want to make sure not to lose it. Between one toddler and two large dogs, I know I will need his services again.

Dave, the owner, is a great person to deal with — friendly, knowledgeable, convenient (he comes to you), takes the time to explain his work and what to expect, and best of all fair with what he charges. Can’t really ask for much more than.
After being referred to him recently, he called me to schedule a time, and came out to look over my car and spent a good amount of time just speaking with me about how he could improve the looks of my car. He sampled a couple of areas and after getting an idea of the scope of work required, he gave me a more than fair quote on performing a minor paint correction detail. Once it was clear he really knew what he was talking about, and using quality products, I felt confident he was the right guy for the job. Since he had a cancellation, he told me he was available to do the work and not wanting to make him drive out a second time, I told him to go for it.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t stick around to see him do his work, but the finished product looked great and I was more than happy w/​the results. To be clear, Dave isn’t who you want to call for a normal car wash… but if your car is in need of some polish/​wax lovin’ so to bring the shine back out of it, Dave is a more than qualified candidate… and a nice guy to boot!
