Just had recent gum graft surgery, and I couldn’t be happier. The day after my surgery, Dr. Miller gave me a follow up call (that I missed) in which she left me a very sweet voicemail checking in on me making sure I was doing ok and to see if I was enduring any pain since the surgery. The staff of women here are very professional and very sweet. The most work I’ve ever had done on myself, regarding surgery or care, was getting fillings. I was very nervous and scared before my surgery day, but everyone is very supportive and comforting. Special thanks to Tami who held her promise by giving me that second Valium when I arrived for surgery. Overall, my receding gum line is no longer receding, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the wonderful work these ladies can do!

I have to mention Dr Miller’s higher standards for excellence as I have been under her care for several years. Always a smile on her face and a great attitude as well as the skills it takes for me to stay healthy.

I was recently referred to Dr. Miller to receive treatment for a gum issue that I was having. I have had «okay» experiences with dentists in the past so I really went there not expecting anything exceptional, just the typical dentist office norm that I am used to. To my surprise however, I was ABSOLUTELY pleased with all of the service that I received upon my first visit, and each visit thereafter. The office has the friendliest staff ever who are very helpful and there to answer any questions you have. They all go above and beyond to make you feel as comfortable as possible. When it came to the talk about my procedure, Dr. Miller took her time to thoroughly walk me through what to expect, and didn’t beat around the bush when it came to the expected cost (s) associated. I had my gum surgery today which took no more than 20 minutes. Dr. Miller and her staff were SO nice and made me feel extremely comfortable during this seemingly «scary» procedure. I even got a follow up call from Dr. Miller this evening just to check in on me to see how I am doing/​feeling. Now that is what I call exceptional service! I will definitely be referring my friends and family to Dr. Miller’s office. She and her staff are superstars and they made my experience beyond wonderful.

I would highly recommend her for any periodental work needed. Referred by my DDS, I’m such a baby when it comes to work on my teeth/​gums.
My first appt, they checked my insurances to see how much would be covered, that way I would know right off the top (luckily, I didn’t pay anything out of pocket!)
When I got there, I went right back, no waiting, and got me comfortable, blanket & turned up the music do I wouldn’t have to hear all the scraping noises!
She made me feel comfortable, and she numbed me until I felt nothing. She was gentle and kept telling me what was going on… I always knew what she was doing.
She and her staff and very friendly and truly care about your well-​being!
When I left, they all made sure I had no questions. They were even going to follow up with my dentist to let them know what’s going on! Wow, talk about service!
She will be the only periodontist I will ever go to and refer her out to anyone who needs to see one!

Dr. Miller’s skill along with her staff, made what I expected would be a ‘torture chamber’ from past experience with another known periodontist, to an easy 25 minute visit.
I would definitely recommend Dr. Miller and her staff.

Still come her for my cleanings every 6 months. I have sent many friends and family (adults and kids) to see Dr. Miller and everyone has a nothing but great things to say. She is really honest and knowledgeable and prices are fair and reasonable. Office looks beautiful and staff is friendly.

I went back today for my final check up after the extraction. Great service! I’m still extremely happy with Dr. Miller and her staff. I would definitely recommend this office for quality care.

I went to Dr. Miller for a gum procedure and came into the appointment very nervous for two reasons, the procedure itself (the pain, recovery, etc) and of course, the financial responsibility. Within a couple minutes of being settled in, they literally answered every single question I had, whether it was one that involved the details of the actual procedure (down to the nitty gritty) or whether it was questions that needed answers to calm my nerves and worries. They were very detailed in every aspect of the appointment, from the instructions the night before, to maintenance, and to how I could personally, establish a payment plan that would be best for me. The procedure took place and I couldn’t have been happier. I went into it relaxed and at ease, all thanks to the trust I had found in Dr. Miller. Coming out of the procedure, she was there until I was comprehensive of the situation and made sure that every need I had was addressed. Days after the procedure, every question I had was addressed over the phone, and if it wasn’t resolved, I was brought into the office and it was made certain it was solved by Dr. Miller and her staff. I would recommend this office to anyone looking for a doctor who is highly skilled and experienced, and wants top-​of-​the-​line, exceeds expectations quality, as well as having a doctor you can truly trust and appreciate.

I agree with another reviewer that this office puts the hard sell on you and does not offer a dental plan that would be in your best interests. I visited the office a few years back to see about gum grafts and was taken aside after the Dr. examined me by a «sales gal» who presented the plan for me to have way more work done than I truly think I needed. In fact, I saw another perio for a 2^nd opinion later and he suggested doing about ½ the work Dr Miller had recommended. That being said, I totally chickened out because of the potential pain involved but am now looking to finally get my receded gums corrected. I do not recommend Dr. Miller. Am currently checking into Dr. Ghayoumi in IRvine, if anyone has seen her, would love to hear about it!

This past weekend, I worried about what would happen with the extraction I would undergo on Monday. The tooth was brittle: the crown had come off with a large chunk of the bicuspid still wedged inside. Only a tiny piece remained above the gum line.
Dr. Miller got a grip on this stub and gently rocked it until the tooth came out in one piece. This allowed her to put an implant directly into the hole. I am now healing from the surgery.
I’ve been a patient of Dr. Miller ever since she took over the practice from Dr. Dornan. She’s extracted three teeth and performed other surgery. I have felt safe in her hands. Her dental implants have never given me a day of trouble. Her office staff is professional yet friendly. I have stuck with her hygienist, Laura, for many years because I have received both top-​notch care and seasoned advice.
I feel more than comfortable with this practice. This is one I recommend to friends and to the other dentists who serve me.

I have had the distinct displeasure of meeting with Dr. Miller and one of her staff. This detailed review is a rant AND a warning.
On a Wednesday in December 2010, I woke up to excruciating tooth pain (is there any other kind?) I went to my dentist, who said «root canal.» I then went to see the doctor who had done a root canal for me years ago. He took one look and said that a root canal was not the answer, that I would need the tooth pulled and an implant put in. He then gave me three referrals to specialists. One of them was Marlene Miller.
Because I had no insurance and no money, I was pretty stressed. I called each referral Thursday morning and explained my situation. I was very clear with the receptionist at Dr. Miller’s office: «I am in a lot of pain, I have no insurance, and a large check is clearing the bank on Saturday. What can I do?» The receptionist explained that the doctor had a light schedule for the next couple of days, as it was near the holiday. The receptionist would call Dr. Miller and get back to me.
On Friday morning, the receptionist called me back and said that Dr. Miller had no patients that day but would come in at 2:00pm for me. She said that the financial situation was not going to be a problem; they would have a payment plan for me.
I went to the office on Friday at 2:00pm. Super clean office; no one was there. A woman (I will call her the «sales gal») greeted me and took me to an examining room. She gave me a long speech about how busy they were that day and how she had been running around cleaning to get ready for me. Weird. It was obvious no one had been in there, and the receptionist told me that the doctor had a couple days off. Whatever.
Dr. Miller came in and examined me and then left. The «sales gal» came back and gave me a detailed plan that had the entire treatment costing about $ 2,400. (I don’t remember the exact amount.) She hard-​sold me on signing that I would come back for all of the treatments, and told me I needed to sign off on the entire plan prior to my tooth being pulled. Fine; I signed. She then asked for a credit card. I reminded her that I could not pay anything today, but that I would be able to go to the bank the next day and bring her $ 800 on Monday morning. She then left the room.
When she came back in, she said that Dr. Miller couldn’t work on me without any money. She further stated that Dr. Miller needed to get home to her one year old daughter.
I then ran to the front of the office and caught Dr. Miller in the reception area as she was trying to leave the building. I stated my case, and said, «Why did you even schedule my appt. and waste everyone’s time if you weren’t going to help me?» She stated that she thought my tooth was too infected to pull that day, and that if I brought her a payment on Monday, she could then schedule to pull my tooth on Tuesday.
I went home crying. I spent the weekend on Vicodin. I found another specialist on my own in Newport Beach on Monday morning. When I got in there, they gave me a quote for $ 1,000 LESS than Dr. Miller. Then the doctor came in and examined me. When I told him I had been in pain and trying to get taken care of for 5 days, he asked me why I had waited so long. I told him about my trials with Dr. Miller, and he was outraged. He said she violated several state laws in not treating me. He gave me information on how to file a claim with the state board.
A few days later, Dr. Miller’s office called to ask why I didn’t come back in. I went off on them, and they said that I still owed them over $ 2,400 because I had signed the quote, even though I received no treatment. They stated that they would send me to collections if I did not pay. I sent them $ 150, which I felt seemed fair for the one doctor visit that I did have there, and a letter that said they had better back off or I would file a claim with the state. They continued to harrass me via phone and in letters mailed to me. I took one of them to my business attorney the next time I saw him. He «took care of it», which I took to mean he wrote them a nasty letter, and they stopped harrassing me.
I know that this story seems unbelievable, but it is sadly all true. I have kept written proof of the entire incident if anyone would like to see it. I felt the need to save all of the documentation to protect myself against these crazy people. This woman is everything that is wrong with the medical profession, and I would hope that anyone who took the time to read this would carefully reconsider prior to putting themselves in her care.

I was referred to Dr Miller’s office by a classmate (who’s mom and sister both have struggled with periodontal issues). I checked out their website before calling for an appointment and really liked what I saw. The perio is young with a full staff of women with a lot of experience.
I was extremely nervous going into the appointment. I have had really bad experiences with dentists and periodontists in the past. I seriously started to cry before the doctor even came in. I was just very overwhelmed. This assistant really put me at ease and so did the doctor. She was very gentle through the exam. She was exactly what I needed, she was very step by step with a treatment plan and reassuring.
I booked an appointment that day for the deep cleaning (which the doctor is going to be doing herself for me) and surgery (which terrifies the living daylights out of me). I know I’m in good hands with this staff though… So onwards with my periodontal journey!
