We are a family run firm who has a general practice covering many areas of the law, but the area we are the most active in is Elder Law. Elder Law is law that pertains to individuals in the later years of their lives. We help people organize their estate and make their plans for their death. We also help the families of older individuals to organize their lives and ensure that their older family members are being taken care of and are in best position possible for them. Finally we will help families of a deceased individual go through Probate and settle the estate so that it may be distributed according to the wishes of the individual. We do these things through a number of devices, including but not limited to, Wills, Trusts, Estates, Powers of Attorney, Health Care Directives, Conservatorships, Contract Review, Probate Proceedings and many more.

History

Established in 1984.

This firm was started by Thomas Styskal and William Kinley. Unfortunately William Kinley passed on, but as the years went on the firm grew with the addition of Anne Landie, the daughter of Thomas Styskal, and John Styskal, the son of Thomas Styskal. The firm also employs Judith Rutter, Thomas Styskal’s sister-​in-​law. We have always been a family firm and try to pass that experience on to our clients.

Received his undergraduate degree from University of Southern California and is a graduate of Loyola Law School.

Founded by him in 1984, Thomas Styskal has since had a large, loyal client following due to his trustworthiness and experience in all areas of his practice. As the leader of his law firm, Tom has inspired his associates, son John, and daughter Anne to be dedicated lawyers like himself when it comes to their family law practice…

I could not believe that all the reviews are 5 Stars! I mean at least one person should be at least somewhat dissatisfied. It’s human nature.
After using Jack to modify a Trust and put a deed into the Trust, I understand why there are nothing but 5 stars. The work was done correctly, timely and relatively inexpensive.
The legal profession is one of the few that get paid more for screwing up but not Jack. One of the few pleasures and surprises of the profession: A truly honest and hardworking lawyer.

Called Jack after speaking to a few lawyers, he offered to either do it all online, or meet up in person to see if we liked the way he worked. Meanwhile, we met a few other lawyers for the same legal need, came out confused and more worried than before.
Jack called after a few days to ask if we still needed his services, so we set up a free consultation with him, he spent more than 2 hours going over all the details and minute details plus the package he offered was better than what was offered by other lawyers. We came out of the office much relaxed and elated, since Jack had covered everything more than we expected.
We thought over his proposal for just one day and went ahead by signing his retainer agreement. All the paperwork was completed within a week, though we gave him a real tough time during that week by sending emails and text messages with a lot of changes.
We met again after a week, he had everything laid out with double originals, so we went over everything, signed and came out very happy.
We would highly recommend Jack and his company for all legal needs, he’s not doubt the best!!!

I’ve used Kinley and Styskal for a few different legal matters. The first time, Jack Styskal reviewed some legal paperwork and advised me on a legal agreement involving a car accident. I found him very trustworthy so I later had him draw up a Trust for our family. He made the process easy and affordable.
Recently, I reached out to Jack because I urgently needed some contracts drawn up for my company. I wasn’t sure if this was a service they offered, but Jack responded quickly and was able to get me 3 different contracts fitting my various needs in less than 48 hours. I compared his hourly fee to two other local attorneys, and his prices was VERY reasonable.
