I come here to get my nails done and Tawny does such an amazing job! They last for weeks with little to no lifting! They always look beautiful and she always does exactly what I want! I’ve also had many other services done by her and I always leave feeling my best! Her eye brow waxes are some of the best I’ve ever gotten! I recommend this place to anyone!

This place is dirty and I would not trust the equipment. From what I’ve heard, there was a lady who got a pedicure here and later found some warts on her foot. Dirty!

I’m only giving this place 1 star because there’s no zero stars. I’m shocked that a salon like this is still in business. Given the current state of our economy, one would think that you would bend over backwards to accomodate potential customers.
I purchased a Groupon for a shellac mani/​pedi, called for an appt and was greeted by the worl’d rudest receptionist! After giving me a lecture on how special their salon is and most of their clients make their appts 3 – 4 weeks ahead of time, I was told that I would have to wait a month before they could get me in. That will bring me past the expiration date. When I asked her why they had not planned accordingly or hired more manicurists expecting an influx of Groupon customers (who may eventually become regular customers!), she told me to have a nice day and hung up on me! I have never had a bad experience with Groupon but I am going to ask for a refund! I shudder to think what their service in the salon is like if the receptionist is any indication. I guarantee this place will be out of business within a year. Do not go to this place. There are so many good salons out there who will appreciate your business.

I am not sure why this place has such bad reviews??? I went in today to redeem my Groupon, very skeptical after reading the reviews, but I was pleased as pie! The girl who did my nails was so sweet and professional. She did a wonderful job! Always asking if I was comfortable, if I wanted coffee, tea, or water, if the nail color was ok, etc. She was so sweet. It was a pleasant experience and I recommend it. But I will admit that when tried to book my appointment, the first few times I tried they were booked which is fine but the receptionist on the phone was rude, however she was fine when I met her in person.
So don’t hesitate to come in for a nice little man, pedi!

I need to contact Groupon in order to attempt to get a refund. I bought this deal for a spa mani pedi and shellac hoping to get a shellac endurance for my first cruise ever this month. The receptionist was prepared to be defensive and rude before I even started talking. She lectured me regarding the salon being a Paul Mitchell hair salon not a nail salon. I didn’t respond to this, but I wonder why a salon that has disdain for nail customers offers a deal to entice more mail customers. She then lectured me on the importance of making appointments at least two weeks ahead citing that «most customers take this into account when considering a new salon.» I patiently listened to her until she finally ceased her scolding. I said its a bummer but I understand. She sounded exasperated and said maybe she could call me if there was a cancellation… I enthusiastically replied that would be great! She gave me some heavy sighs and I heard pages flipping… I was waiting for a good opportunity to give her my phone number when she started lecturing me again! I very calmly interjected that I understand what she’s already told me and I am familiar with the nature of appointments do please take my number down for a cancellation like she suggested… But I couldn’t finish my sentence because she hung up on me! I called right back twice and no one answers. I left a message last week and no one has called me back. I love the location and I’d love to find a new place for shellac but based on that exceptionally ride receptionist and the reviews on here looks like I won’t find it here!

I don’t know how they have any business if they snootily press that «it’s by appointment only» and «we are really booked», all the while making customers feel small and dismissed. This is all stemming from the rude receptionist concerning a nail appointment. I know you have to be highly qualified to do hair at a Paul Mitchell salon but apparently that high standard doesn’t apply to the front desk.

After purchasing a groupon deal w some friends we decided to give this place a try. When my friend called to try and make an appointment she received an unfriendly receptionist who stated that you need to book mani/​pedis two wks in advance. (However their Unilocal site says no for appointment only). When my friend commented on how disappointed she was the receptionist got snippy and then hung up on her. Looks like they just lost a group of women who enjoy regular mani/​pedis thanks to a rude receptionist

So I, like the other recent Unilocalers, also had the groupon deal for a shellac mani/​pedi. I should start off by saying that it did take forever to get an appt for a Mani/​pedi. The receptionist is rude and when I asked if my 9am appt could be pushed slightly, she said no bc they were booked. Two days before my appt I was left a voicemail about having my appt pushed back to 9:30 so the manicurist could spend more time with her kids. Which is fine, I understand, but what I don’t understand is why there’s considerations for the manicurist but not for the customer. So that’s that.
Ive been to many nail salons and i honestly wanted to give this place a decent shot but as far as the service goes, the pedicure is veeeeeeeery mediocre. My groupon stated a «spa pedicure» and I’m not sure what the «spa» portion was to include if I had to ASK to get any ingrowns removed, they don’t clean your nail, and they didn’t scrub my feet, well she did but for like 10 seconds (yes I counted) without any scrubing salt or callus softener so it was more painful than anything else. The massage (if you would even call it that) was a quick wipe down of another 10 secs. Tawny is very messy in applying nail polish, and cuts too into your cuticles to the point where it burns when the alcohol is applied. Not enough to bleed, just enough for it to hurt.
As far as the shellac manicure goes, the shellac application may be the only decent portion of the so called manicure only because shellac nail polish practically does the work itself. For the record, dont Expect your nails to be soaked in warm water to soften your cuticle, instead they just push back your cuticles dry and it’s painful! After pushing them back, they do not go in and clip the excess cuticle she just files (doesn’t cut) your nail and tells you to wash your hands so she can apply the shellac (without any buffing either). I regret asking her to do a French manicure because she only applies one coat of white paint for the tip, the french tips are uneven and crooked and if you ask her to fix it, it ends up worse than before.
All the while they are making side remarks about the groupon deals such as the expiration date can’t come soon enough and sounding delighted that the manicurist only had 2 Mani/​pedis all day. Upon checkout, I was told that their prices were going to go UP which baffles me considering their lack of professionalism and technique. The receptionist stated that shellac mani anywhere else is $ 90 but they would only charge $ 45 and are one of the only places to have shellac. Which is not true, I’ve had this kind of service done with much better technique and at a cheaper price. I’m not sure which kind of gel was used but the removal was easy and it didn’t harm my nail. Star nails (irvine blvd and culver in irvine) charge $ 28 for a regular Mani/​pedi and an additional $ 10 if you want to upgrade to gel which is essentially shellac.
Groupon deals are suppose to be to bring in new customers, make them feel comfortable, and show off your products and service needless to say, this place has failed at all three and I won’t be returning.

I purchased a $ 25 groupon for a Shellac Manicure and Basic Pedicure at Glam Couture Salon in Tustin. I waited a few weeks after my purchase to call and make a reservation, because typically, nail salons get slammed the first couple weeks after a groupon is offered.
When I called to make an appointment, the lady was extremely rude. She said we are NOT a nail salon, but a full salon, and only have ONE manicurist, so she would not be able to get me in for over a month. She seemed extremely frustrated with anyone mentioning the word Groupon to make an appointment. She also said slots were filling up fast, so I better pick one now.
If you are NOT a nail salon and only have ONE manicurist, and do not like the «Groupon» customers, then why did you just sell over 700 Groupons for a mani/​pedi?
There is no way I would go to this establishment, especially, after reading additional reviews on the terrible and painful mani/​pedis anyways. Thankfully, Groupon was able to refund my money. This place is a sham.

This place does not even deserve the star I gave it. Like most people on here, I got the deal for a $ 25 shellac manicure and pedicure. I tried to schedule an appointment a week in advance and was only able to get one A MONTH LATER! I wanted my nails done for a Vegas trip but that didn’t work out, couldnt get an appointment for my birthday a few weeks later so I settled for whatever was available.
Today I finally went in. I got the pedicure first, which turned out fine. Simple. But then I got the shellac manicure… it all went downhill from there. The manicurist had done a French shellac manicure on the girl before me and had everything ready to go so that was good… except the girl before me mentioned one nail was painted crooked and asked it to be redone. Ok, one nail, not a big deal right? Well when it was MY turn the manicurist continuously bumped and smeared my wet nails and had to keep repainting them. She would go to fix one and forgot where she left off and asked me one 3 or 4 different occasions if she had already buffed one hand, if she had put a coat on some or the others? «I’m going to do a double coat just in case…» was the fix. She would stop working any time she spoke to people so it took forever. After I asked her to fix a few of my nails, which were painted crooked (or one nail she had painted pink over the white so you could hardly even see the white tip and told me to put my hands in the drier like she didn’t notice!) I was over it and just wanted to leave. 2 hours later I am stuck with this awful manicure I could’ve done better myself, at home, for free. I posted pictures to prove it and let everyone see for themselves before making my mistake (However, Unilocal!took them down). The white tips are uneven, crooked, and or smeared. I still have paint on my skin around the nails and, oh yes, I had to go wash and scrub my own nails in their bathroom sink! She didn’t soak them for me or anything. Just literally cut my cuticles and then poured nail polish remover onto the cuts & rubbed it in… so painful!
Wish I read the reviews before I went because I will NEVER go back! I know some will say, «well you were being a cheap-​o & you got the groupon, what did you expect?» Well I thought the point of groupons were to get people in to your business and make returning customers in the process. With nails like this, good luck!

I bought the Groupon for this salon hoping I could get a nice shellac mani and basic pedi for $ 25.
When I called to make an appointment in the middle of March the rude receptionist told me that they could not accommodate me until April 26^th. I don’t plan my mani-​pedis a month in advance so I said I guess I’ll just make an appointment later then. She told me (again rudely) that May and June were filling up soon so I should book now! Ridiculous! No one plans a mani-​pedi 2 – 3 months in advance.
Luckily, I contacted Groupon and they said they will refund my money.
After reading the other reviews I am too scared to go to this salon and hurt my toes after a 2-​hr mani-​pedi (don’t have the patience for that!)

I had the exact same experience as G.G., Y.M. and Karla B. (see below) except I was not hung up on. Jennifer was extremely rude, scolded me for waiting so long (although I explained I had done so because I knew they would be very busy at the beginning of the offered «deal») and then she said she would call me back to schedule an appointment. Guess what… no call back. But I am glad she didn’t now that I have read the reviews and horror stories from the people who actually secured an appointment. I will gladly eat the $ 19 and go to my normal salon where smiling friendly faces greet me, know me and always do a great job — pain free! Check out Angel Nail Salon in Santa Ana across from Main Place Mall. Kayla is the best!

I purchased the amazon deal for the shellac manicure and basic pedicure on october 4, 2011. I tried to schedule an appointment shortly thereafter and was told that they had very limited appointment times. I asked to be put on the waiting list and didn’t hear anything. Each time I called, there were no times available that would work for me. I tried again yesterday only to learn that they are booked past the expiration date, so now I can only get $ 19 off of the regular $ 45 price. I expressed to the receptionist, Jennifer that that is not good customer service. She then scolded me for not scheduling a time sooner. I told her that I have a busy schedule and it hasn’t been easy to get through to them. She argued, saying that she always answers the phone and she doesn’t remember me calling. WHAT??? I then asked if she was the manager and she said she was the receptionist and that she was standing next to the owner. Then she scolded me more and HUNG UP ON ME! When I called right back, she answered the phone, addressing me by name and started talking non-​stop. I told her to please stop talking to me. I told her that I had not been rude to her, but that she had been throroughly disrespectful to me and that I wanted to speak to the owner. First she told me the owner was busy, then she suddenly became available.
I was able to voice my concerns to the owner, who was much nicer than Jennifer. I am deeply offended by my exchange with the receptionist, and with the amazon deal. If they did not have the capacity to handle the flow, they should never have offered the deal. I’ve scheduled an appointment, but I will need to pay additional money to them because they won’t honor my original deal. I may cancel and not reschedule just so I don’t have to give them any more of my hard-​earned money — it’s the principle! Terrible customer service!

ok as you can tell usually i only review places I am in love with. With that being said I am extremely disappointed with this salon.
I purchased a groupon deal for $ 25 for shellac nails.
The first thing I did was call for an appointment a week in advance. I got 3 phone calls regarding my appointment, later to find out they wanted to change my appointment time, to accommodate another client. Have you ever been called by a nail salon 3 times before you even enter the salon? And these calls were at 6pm and 8pm then the next day at 9am! really?!
OK I get there, and give it a fair chance
I pick out my colors, then sit down with Tawny. I love her sweet personality, but she about killed me when doing my nails. OUCH!!! I left with more hang nails than ever! She didn’t know how to make a round nail square. whatever it was crazy how much it hurt. I’ve been getting manicures for over 20 years, and I have NEVER experienced this type of pain. I was holding my breath it was like a root canal. Then she cut me twice when pushing my cuticles, then poured alcohol on my nails yup i almost freaked out.
They also do nails and pedi separate so be prepared to spend 2 hours there.
Jen the front desk lady was complaining the ENTIRE time I was there. She was on the phone with Groupon saying people had returned their groupon deals because they couldn’t walk into the salon blah blah blah! That was entirely UNPROFESSIONAL!
So I’m also a germ freak and Tawny had a runny nose the whole time.
I tried to be very very polite but I wanted to run for the hills!
Needless to say never ever go back!

I purchased a voucher for the shellac manicure treatment. I was impressed with the owner’s work ethic. Initially, I thought I would receive substandard service when I disclosed that I purchased a voucher (common practice among most businesses) but she treated me as if I was going to use cash for her services. The owner left an indelible impression upon me and I always try to give a generous gratuity to show my appreciation for her treatment of her clients.

I tried out this salon after purchasing a Living Social deal. It was for a pedicure and shellac manicure, plus $ 20 off the next service. The girls who run the salon are nice people, but they are incredibly unprofessional. I like to go to a salon to relax and be pampered, but coming here I was incredibly uncomfortable. The girls were talking to each other non-​stop, which is fine, but she would stop doing my nails to tell a story. Also, the topics they discussed made you feel like you were intruding on a personal conversation. Also, while I was using my phone, they asked me to «check in» on facebook. That was awkward since I didn’t even know them or if I was going to like the experience.
In regard to the actual service, I was also really disappointed. At other salons I’ve been to, a «spa pedicure» comes with a massage. There was no massage or lotion, I don’t even remember if she scrubbed the bottom of my feet. She didn’t soak my hands for the manicure and I had to get up to wash my hands at a sink. And even though I didn’t get any massages or soaking, the services took longer than other salons because of all the talking. Oh, and she nipped my cuticles too much on two fingers and they hurt for a few days. To top it off the polish application was pretty sloppy too.
The only good thing is that the shellac application did last almost two weeks, which is the only reason that I came back for my second service, which was the shellac application. It’s the same price for the shallac mani as it is for both a shellac mani and regular pedi, but skipped the pedi this time just to get the heck out of there in an hour. This time I told her not to cut my cuticles and the manicure turned out very nice. But again, on this second visit, I was really uncomfortable. The owner’s husband and a friend were visiting and they were all talking loudly and inappropriately. At one point Tawny asked if the conversation was offending me. Well, what I’m I supposed to say, plus, if you have to ask, you should probably just assume that it is.
Sorry, ladies, good luck on your business. Hope you’ll take this as constructive criticism and be more professional around your clients. For anyone looking for an awesome nail professional, I regularly go to Happy Nails in La Habra and always use Sophia. She’s friendly, lovely, knows when to talk and when to give you quiet time, and gives the BEST foot massages. I’ll continue to get shellac manicures there. It’s more expensive, but you obviously get what you pay for…

Great place for nail and hair services! They are friendly and warm and really make you feel comfortable. They do quality work and I have been back a few times, and will continue to give them my service there. Can’t wait to see it after their remodeling!

I came in here last weekend after hearing about a few deals/​coupons they had out. My friend used a
deal and I saw they also had a Unilocal deal, but I’m not one to commit to buying something like a deal online because then I always forget to use them. So I downloaded a coupon they had from
(the same deal they had one trubates except you don’t have to pay upfront) and wen in on a saturday afternoon. I probably should have called for an appt because Tawny was busy, but it wasn’t a big deal. I just went shopping in the area and then came back.
I got the shellac manicure done and it’s pretty cool. I had it done 5 days ago and so far it’s held up against two softball games, a tone of typing, and playing with my two brothers. No chips or anything and it’s still really shiny. I also upgraded to the spa manicure which was pretty nice and relaxing as well. Just make sure you have a lot of spare time when you make your appt.
The only downside is that they only have one pedicure chair so I wouldn’t really come here with my gfs because we’d spend forever waiting for each other… but my nails look nice :)

I waited a week to make sure I still felt the same way… and I do. I specifically wanted Shellac, and made an appt for my daughter for mani/​pedi and me Shellac. 12:30 appt. Tawny was nice, but 1^st was my daughter… and at 1:40p she took me. A woman sitting on the couch there started water for my pedicure, since Tawny wanted to start with that (regular).she then had to stop to talk to a guy installing her new merchant system. THEN, I mentioned I had a 2:30p doctor appt, and she said she thought I knew Shellac took a long time. (Then maybe we should’ve started with that). I told her we could just not do my nails. Her response, «Well, at least your feet will look done.» I was going on a business trip… no one would see my feet. She then rushed that, cut my toe, still had to talk to the merchant rep, didn’t watch the time and when I told her I had 4 min to get to my doctor, she said she’d rush the last 2 coats. She spilled bright pink polish on my sandals and my daughter’s shirt, only wiping off my shoes telling me «good as new,» and saying about the shirt, «I hope it wasn’t new.» I barely made it to the doctor, she didn’t discount it ONE cent, and I didn’t even get what I went for… Shellac.
She was nice, so I hesitated to do this… she is inexpensive, so I’d say, if you have an entire afternoon to block out… maybe.
