Ginnie I Chen, DDS

Dr Chen is the kindest, gentlest, most caring dentist I have ever met. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I have been working with Dr. Chen since February of 2014. Since then, I have completed my treatment plan, and I am now wearing Damon braces. Thanks to Dr. Chen and her friendly and helpful office manager, Andrea, I am finally on my way to having a smile I can feel confident about. Dr. Chen and Andrea have made what might have been an overwhelming experience one that felt seamless and relaxing. Dr. Chen works with you every step of the way, building a rapport with you so that each time you walk in you feel like there’s someone who understands what you’re going through.
They are very flexible with appointments. You will not be waiting three weeks to see Dr. Chen. Andrea is such a gem! Always a friendly face to greet you each time you walk in.

I had chipped my tooth and it was bothering me so I had Dr Chen take a look. She was expedient in buffing the edges so I didn’t feel it anymore. Also told me I was grinding my back teeth and had me fitted with mouth guards. I was happy with the service and referred my parents which they then went in to have some work done.

I’ve been in Dr. Chen for 3 years. The first time I came here for a second opinion, because I went to another dentist who suggested me to do an implant. Dr. Chen, in stead, did deep cleaning and all my pain was gone.(I did not need an implant. :)) Dr. Chen is always very patient, caring, and professional. I have been coming for my regular teeth cleaning for 3 years and now I am starting my Invisalign.(I am so excited). She is the kind of doctor who you trust and can discuss your needs and worries with. Highly Recommend.

I’ve been going to Dr. Chen for years and she provides me the same excellent, efficient and reliable service each and every time I show up. She is caring and thorough with her work. Based on the conditions of my teeth at the time, she would make appropriate recommendations on what I should do to upkeep my teeth. Even though she is far away, I would travel from L.A. for my appts. It’s a trust relationship I have built with my dentist. Trust me, you do not want someone incompetent or greedy to be all in ur mouth. I once almost ate a piece of my filling because another dentist didn’t do it right! That’s when I found Dr Chen, through a friend’s recommendation. And I thank her for that! And now, I highly recommend Dr Chen to anyone. Love the cute clean office. Area is quiet. And the office never over books! She takes time to give u undivided attention, unlike so many other offices.

Most people are afraid if not terrified going to the dentist ’cause they didn’t know about Dr. Chen. Because not only Dr. Chen is gentle but she will get right to the point of taking care good care of your dental needs.
So with her advice and generous care, my teeth always get an A+ every single time I go in for my 6-​mos. check-​up!
It has always been a pleasant visit for me to go there with a smile and very very very happy to say, «hi» to Andrea, bright and cheerful receptionist. Then after Dr. Chen thoroughly examined and took care my teeth with her immaculate painless procedures, I am so grrrrateful for her to give me a thumb-​up approval.
Since then, it has been 10 years ago… and I am still and continue my loyalty to Dr. Chen because of her great care and gentleness.

I want to preface this by stating that I am no fan at all of dentistry. I actively avoid it, which is something I KNOW I shouldn’t do.
That said, the most important thing I can tell you about Ginnie Chen is the amount of care she has for her patients. She really seems to understand the discomfort of being in that chair and both her and Andrea are focused on making the experience as pleasant — oh, who am I kidding? — as positive as possible.
As someone who loathes the very idea of going to the dentist, I recommend Ginnie Chen as a caring professional who does great work. I’ll be back and so should you.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Chen for about 6 months now and she is fantastic! It makes a difference that this is her own practice and she does everything herself. She’s quick, yet efficient and I fell asleep a bit during a root canal — I swear! Andrea is so friendly and helpful — she is always able to get me in quickly and on my schedule. Love this place!

Dentists can be very hit or miss and I have missed quite a few times. I am so glad I have found Dr. Chen!

I’ve been coming here for years. The receptionist Andrea is always really friendly and helpful. As for the doctor. I’ve been to a few dentist before and always dread going. One because they always hurt me and two because they always wanted to add on more work or say I needed something done and third is because it was always an all day thing. They alway make you wait for an hour in the waiting room then another hour inside because the doctor has 10 different patients at once.
NOT HERE! I’ve never had to wait. They always schedule one patient at a time so you feel like all her attention is on you and I love that. She has never tried and tell me to get more work done than what I needed. She is always so gentle and nice. I’m never in horrible pain and she makes sure your comfortable. I’m always happy to go get my cleaning and check up.
Office is always really clean. I’m in and out with in an hour usually. I love my dentist :)

Unlike other dentists who surrounded themselves with an army of hygenists/​sales staff, Dr. Chen performs even the most routine services herself. It’s clear that she’s focused on earning her patients loyalty and referrals by delivering quality dental services vs. through the sales of cosmetic procedures and other non-​essential products/​services.
As for those reviews based on the
promotion …
Consider the fact that 99% of those who purchase a Living Social voucher wait until the last minute to redeem them (Including me). WIth that said, I expected the standard minimum level of service that often accompanies a Living Social promotion but was pleasantly surprised when found myself not being constantly up-​sold or treated as if I was an obligation. Instead I left feeling that she appreciated my giving her the chance to earn my business. An «old school» approach that you don’t see much of these days.
Dr. Chen takes pride in her trade and it shows!

I have been going to Dr. Chen for years and can say with confidence, that she is the best dentist I have ever been to. She is gentle, honest and does not ever over-​diagnose when it comes to treatments and procedures. In the past, I had always been anxiety-​ridden about going to the dentist, but ever since I’ve been going to her, my fears and anxiety have completely dissipated. I have also had my teeth whitened a couple of times in her office and not only was I surprised by how dramatic the results were, but was very happy with the price. Her front office receptionist, Andrea, is always very friendly and accommodating if you need an appointment at the last minute. Great office and an ever better dentist. I’ve found a dentist for life.

I also purchased a Living Social deal for teeth whitening. I called the office twice, both time were unpleasant due to the apathetic and hostile receptionist. Dr. Chen may be a great dentist, but she needs to fire her receptionist.
The first time I called was to make an appt. They were so booked in advance and my schedule was up in the air, so I told them I’d call back. I called the second time because my Living Social vouchers expired, which was my fault and I didn’t expect to get the whitening treatment. However what typically happens when you buy a voucher (Groupon, Travelzoo, Unilocal,etc.) and it subsequently expires is that you can use the amount you paid for the voucher (in this case $ 180) towards a service at the vendor. You’ve already paid, and they’ve already received your money. I was told that my vouchers expired, there was nothing they could offer me — basically that I was out $ 180.
This sounds criminal to me, but I’m not an attorney. Luckily, I called Living Social, who also tried to call Dr. Chen’s office. They were met with the same hostile receptionist, and was given the runaround. Living Social credited me the $ 180 for a future purchase, which I’m pleased with, but I wanted to warn others about the rude and questionable behavior of this office.

I love Dr. Chen. She is gentle and quick. I just had a baby and she was very understanding that I didn’t have much time. She took care of my cleaning and filled the two cavities she found in no time. Her assistant is also very friendly.

After having a terrible experience with a previous Delta Dentist that was Premium (not PPO like they told me) and lied to me about what kind of dental work I needed… Dr Chen is a god send! Not only is she incredibly nice, as is her assistant and receptionist Andrea, but if you go in for a teeth cleaning and X Rays, that’s what you will get. She will tell you honestly what you need to get done and nothing more. She is very helpful in giving you tips on how you can improve the health of your teeth, etc.
Both she and Andrea are great at working with your schedule too. I work from 8:30 — 5 (sometimes 8 — 4:30) and they are always willing to find me a 4:30 appointment. And even if I’m getting a cavity filled which can be time-​intensive, Dr Chen will still give me a 4:30 appointment if I need it.
In a world of salesy dentists, Dr Chen is a rarity! Highly recommend her.

I bought a Living Social deal to have my teeth whitened at Dr. Chen’s. I must say, I was terribly disappointed with the results. Four months later, the whitening has definitely subsided drastically and therefore, I don’t think it was worth it. The whiteness started diminishing even within a month and a half after.
Dr. Chen uses the Sapphire Chairside Whitening and I must tell you – it hurts! Throughout the rest of the day, my teeth were zipping and zapping. They’re so-​called «zingers» and just these shoots of pain that randomly occur.
I know it says that this whitening system is «ideal for anyone looking for immediate results» but I didn’t even see that much of a whitening difference in the next couple of days after.
While Dr. Chen was nice and cordial, I would say save your money and just get some Crest 3D Whitestrips, the professional effects one. I’ve used them before and the whiteness lasts much longer than this pricey Sapphire Chairside Whitening did.

Dr. Chen is the best dentist you will ever find. Dr. Chen really cares about her patients, and she does excellent work!

I just returned home after a cleaning. I went to this Dentist based on reviews on this site as well as other «gentle dentist» blogs. I concur Dr. Chen is very gentle and FAST which I love. She was patient with me, as I suffer from a «fear» of the dentist, and was very accommodating. I will happily return for my 6 month visit later this year. If you are not keen on dentists, I say give Dr. Chen a try and simply be upfront about your concerns and needs.

Ginnie Chen is the best dentist I’ve ever had hands down.
From the moment you walk through the door, her assistant Andrea makes you feel welcome and usually has some good stories about the Dodgers or Vampires.
Every procedure I’ve gotten has been quick and painless and Dr. Chen will make you feel as comfortable as possible.
