123 RV Rental

This company sucks, ballz, I took my family, my 4 y/​o and 2 y/​o to Sea World, the rig stank, the tanks were full, never emptied, the hose for dumping was worn out like a Hollywood stripper. The carpet looked like a house from threes company after an all night bender, the TV sucked, Generator barely ran — Surprised anyone actually rents from them. F-​them

This isnt’ a business, it’s a scam. Stay away.

I rented the 2005 Coachmen for 3 nights in July 2015. Below is the extensive list of issues we had.
1. When I showed up to pick up the RV the cover for a roof vent was missing.
2. The propane level in the RV at pickup was less than ¼ full
3. The vehicle itself only had just over ¼ of a tank of fuel
4. The RV checkout was severely lacking. Most of my questions were vaguely answered if at all.
5. Several screens are missing from the windows.
6. The leveling jacks did not work.
7. Had I been advised that the RV would need fuel and propane fill, I would have adjusted my pickup time earlier to accomplish those tasks before we left.
8. The air conditioning in the front of the RV only blows from the defroster and at your feet. It blows out the main vents for a few minutes when the vehicle first starts but then it won’t anymore for the rest of the day.
9. I was unable to get the water heater to work resulting in cold showers. It is possible I was doing something wrong but I was told at the checkout, «just turn on the heat, wait 5 minutes, and you’ll have hot water.»
10. The awning on the outside is completely broken. That would have been a nice detail to know during the checkout or even before signing the rental agreement.
11. The slide out leaks profusely when it rains. The couch was saturated with water and my daughter’s bedding was drenched. My daughter had to sleep with us because her bedding was so wet.
12. Due to the leaks, the entire vehicle had a musty smell the entire weekend.
I was offered meager compensation for all the problems we had. My options were to rent an RV for 2 nights and get the third night free (but only during the off season) or get a $ 50 cash refund. As we will not rent from 123 RV rental in the future, the free night of rental is worthless, so I took the $ 50. However, in my opinion, the compensation should have been far more than what was offered considering all the issues.

Just a horrible experience. Every time I talked to Gloria on the phone she made me feel like I was really putting her out by trying to rent an RV. Also the RV I had booked someone else had already paid for it a day earlier. So after dealing with possibly the worst customer service ever, I didn’t even get to rent and RV.
DON’T USE THIS COMPANY!

I have never received a dwi in my life! I was able to get insurance without a problem with geico. However the original owner did not come to terms with rv rental and decided to back out of the rental. When I was taken to see the replacement rv it was dirty, smelled terribly and even the guy showing it to me kept apologizing and said he would try to find something else for me that’s when I demanded a refund.

I want to thank everyone who took the time to warn me about 123 RV Rental! I am looking to rent an RV for an upcoming trip and I will not be calling these folks that’s for sure. Not with these reviews.
Feelin’ like I dodged a bullet.

1 star because I had to give them a star… Customer service is Horrible. I had several questions in regards to renting an RV from them. Gloria was short and expected me to know everything about renting an RV, sorry for doing my due diligence. I am surprised they even get business. If you own an RV and use this company to rent it out, I would suggest that you use a different vendor. If you are renting an RV stay away from this company, it is apparent you will have problems if not with the staff then with the RV itself. It is sad that the entire representation of this company is on the shoulders of Gloria, Horrible horrible horrible… good luck in your business ventures 123 youll need it with staff like this.

Wow! DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE! We wish we had known about this before we rented! My friend had rented from these people before with no problems and no issues, but this time, it seemed that something about the business had changed, but she couldn’t put her finger on just what was different until after we rented from them. The only good thing that I can say about this experience is that, when we asked for it, the owner (Dave) did end up reimbursing us for our expenses in getting the rig fixed afer several breakdowns, and gave us a credit for the day we were stuck, but the rig itself (1995 American Eagle deisel pusher bus) should never have been rented and, in our opinion, was not roadworthy, and information was withheld from us about its true condition.
Here is a list of the things that went wrong with the rig we rented:
1. Generator overheated and shut off twice (we had to rewire the generator on the side of the road).
2. No headlights (didn’t know this until driving in the dark and called Dave to find out where the headlight switch was. He said «Oh yeah, they don’t work so good».
3. No air breaks (stuck overnight). The next morning, we found our own repairman after the owner failed to act quickly enough to save our vacation. Our repairman found that the issue was an old patched fix that failed. He was able to patch it again and then clamp it so we could resume our trip. A permanent repair is still needed.
4. We contacted the Highway Patrol and Sherriff’s Department to advise them that we were stranded so they could check on us periodically though the night. They both informed us that they were going to impound the rig because there was an outstanding impound order on it. We had to contact the owner at 10pm to have him fax his paperwork that showed the impound was cleared or we were going to be put out on the street. It turned out that the owner’s wife Gloria used our driver’s name when talking to the authorities and caused her to be questioned by them about the impound as if she had something to do with it.
5. Anti-​lock breaking system (ABS) light was on during the whole trip.
6. Oil pressure warnings occurred at idle in rest stop and again periodically during the rest if the trip.
7.Radiator overheated and once again we were stranded in 104 degree heat and after 2 hours, our repairman was able to fill the radiator with anti-​freeze and water. The rig owner told our repairman that our driver was his wife so he could get a better price on the repairs. He stuck with us all the way to the RV Park where we were to camp for the week. It was a good thing he did, because the levelers did not work properly, the large awning could not be opened and could not be used, the step cover and console fuses were bad and had to be changed (luckily he had some). He could see we were still in trouble, so he continued to help us.
8. We found out during our stay at the campground that the ice maker does not work (not a necessity, but it’s marketed on the website as a perk) and when preparing to leave for home in a rainstorm, the windshield wipers also did not work, unless you keep your finger on the control the whole time.
9. To top the whole trip off, the awing that we never used, because it could not be opened at the campground, opened up while we were driving home! No amount of Velcro fasteners or bungee cords worked to resolve this issue after 3 stops in 103 degree heat in the middle of the desert. We were able to get duct tape at a small town hardware store to get us home. DO NOT RENT THIS RIG! DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE! DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE!

My family and I rented the «Georgetown» RV based on pictures we saw on Craig’s List. What a mess. Nothing like the pictures. The RV was filthy, worn out and felt like I was driving a Section 8 house on wheels! It smelled like smoke and I have seen better looking furniture on the side of the road. The awning was totally worthless as it was full of mold and mildew so you couldn’t open it up. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere… anywhere else.

We rented an RV about a year ago from them, and it was a great experiance. The rv was exactly as promised, and the transactionw as very smooth. They did so well, we are renting another RV from them next week.
It is really nice being able to rent private rv’s as you dont have to drive one with advertizements all over it, and they are cheaper. Win Win.

We rented an RV from this organization and when we picked it up the fellow who was there was very casual about the condition of the vehicle. There were numerous scratches and dents on the exterior and the interior was dirty and badly damaged (broken table, inoperable oven, broken shower curtain, torn front curtains, badly stained upholstery and filthy carpet). The cookware was filthy. All had to be cleaned by us in order for us to enjoy our short vacation. When we returned the RV, in much cleaner condition than when we had picked it up, another fellow immediately rushed to point out what are old scratches and dents on the exterior. The manner in which this was done caused us to conclude that this is the scam they normally operate; keeping the $ 500 deposit of unsuspecting renters by attributing old scratches and dents to every renter. These are very dishonest people operating this company.
Michelle the owner for sure is gonna write some stupid excuses here like she usually does but Im warning you, DO NOT TAKE A CHANCE!

Just recently rented the Coachman from them in Tustin. The RV had some little things broken (blinds and a loose floorboard panel), but these were quickly disclosed. I had heard horror stories about renting RVs. This was nothing like that. Michelle was extremely helpful and reassuring. Quick refunds of deposits. I had an amazing experience. After reading these reviews, I would guess they did a total 180. I would rent from them again in a heartbeat.

Reported them to BBB and Michelle had the nerve to say it was the RV owners fault. Way to go put it on someone else. My best advice is to look somewhere else.

I’ve rented from 123 RV rental twice and both times have been terrible experiences. Not so much with the staff — I dealt with Michelle and she was friendly and mostly responsive to me. This is the only reason why I gave it two stars instead of one.
My issue with 123 RV rental is the RVs and the respective owners. The first RV I rented had several problems over the course of a 4 day trip! The worst of which was having a dead battery for lights, etc. while the RV was parked. We had to keep the generator on the at night, but then to be respective camping neighbors, turn the generator off at 10pm and were left in the dark each night. Other problems included a broken window that wouldn’t stay closed while driving (horrible as we were driving in the snow), a broken awning, and rear view mirror that fell off.
I decided to give it a second chance, hoping the first rental was a fluke. The second RV I rented was nice but the refrigerator never worked. I spoke with the owner on several occasions over the course of the trip to get it fixed and none of the solutions he walked me through over the phone fixed it (we were parked on a level surface). We were quite some distance from any stores or ice and lost most of our $ 200 worth of refrigerated food. When I explained the lost food cost and inconvenience to the owner, he said it worked the last time he used it and wouldn’t offer any discounts or credit. To add salt in the wound, the owners «charged» me $ 210 for dirty windows and very minor dirt stains on the carpet. We even washed the windows and vacuumed but they said we left streaks and he had to get the RV detailed. The renter has no say in how much deposit the owner ends up keeping. My last 3 e-​mails/​calls to Michelle to try to resolve it were unanswered. This is my only complaint about Michelle, although she said she had tried to contact the owner.
Next time I rent, I am going to pay a little more and go with a larger, reputable company who owns the RVs.

Great way to save a few bucks when doing your RV rentals. Very helpful staff, just wish payment options were more friendly (Cash only at pickup!!). Good communication, quick refund of security deposits.
Remember these are privately owned RVs, and as such can be in various condition. Its alot like borrowing an RV from your friend. If you are open to these conditions, they will save you money.

What a horrible company!!! We reserved an Rv that they advertised as sleeping 6 – 8 people. When we picked it up it only had two beds!!! They said the rest of the people can sleep on the floor!!! It was too late to find another RV and we ended up stuck with this crappy RV then they refused to give us a proper refund!!!

When I first contacted this company and asked for pictures from Michelle, it all sounded and looked good. There was a break from contact while I explored some other options and then decided I would rent from this company. Since you never know how long ago pictures are taken, I called back, spoke with Gloria and asked to make arrangements to preview one of the rentals.
First of all, she was very curt with me, way to go on the customer service, second I was told that there were no previews of the RV’s. Really? That is when I went looking for a Unilocal profile and found the bad reviews. Wow, I am glad I did. No telling what I would have been saddled with sight unseen based on what I have read. Thanks however I do not have Stupid written across my forehead.

What Michelle fails to say is yes, I was asking if there were cheaper units, who wouldn’t and in fact she replied the next day with a list. It was from that list that I later changed my mind and decided to rent one of the original units in question and then ran up against Gloria’s bad attitude and being told I could not preview. Why would anyone want to rent an RV from this company sight unseen with all of the bad reviews from people who have had the experiences they have had. If you can view the units then Gloria should not be stating otherwise. I did not rent because I was not allowed to preview and as I stated before, based on the existing reviews, I am glad I didn’t. My review is based on my experience only as all Unilocal reviews should be.

We apologize if you feel you were treated unfairly concerning an RV viewing. Unfortunately, as these are privately owned, most of our owners have requested NO viewings as they have had problems in the past with people not showing up after they take time off to set up the viewing.
We understand concerns with the pictures not matching the actual unit as to condition. We ask the renters to please respond back to us in those instances so we can discuss with the owners about remedial action. Without input from our renters we are in the dark as to the units actual condition. As a result of complaints, like those on Unilocal,we have taken offending units off our lists and no longer have them available if the owners are unwilling to improve the looks and conditions of their RV’s.
Again we apologize for the inability to view this particular RV prior to rental.

What good does it do to voice your concerns about rentals not matching pictures when you are set to go on a scheduled trip and you are stuck with a dirty or trashed unit or do a bait and switch as several people have had happen to them? That is why you preview. Again I submit, «I do not have Stupid written all over my face.»

So I wish i would have looked at Unilocal to see the other reviews or else I would have never used this company. The problem is there are like 3 people all saying different things and have no idea on how to manage their own business.
So basically, I sent a $ 500 deposit to rent an RV for a super trip I was planning and I look at the Calendar and they had it booked by another person for the same day. I couldn’t believe it because I got confirmation emails and called to ask if it was avalible and everything was good. BUT NO, THEY F“D ME BIG TIME.
They are nice when you talk to them but their company leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

Clearly scamming people out of money. The RV’s private owners have no idea of how much they hike the costs up. Prices are different every time you speak to them (if you can get a hold of them). Worse than terrible customer service. After finding our RV privately on craigslist, they totally screwed up our booking by trying to make it more expensive than we had agreed with the private owner, then booked it out to someone else who was willing to pay their price at the last minute.

They are unprofessional and will cancel your rental at the last minute leaving you the customer to find something else in their systems regardless of how far you have to drive. I do not believe they have half the rentals they show on their website. They do not return calls when asked to and the lady does sound drunk, stay away!!!
