Not sure why I have never been here, it is right by my house. This place has dive-y, small town, warm charmy feel written all over it. I guess I always thought it was a sketchy place from the outside but that is not at all the case. I can tell most of the patrons come here often and for good reason. Booze is fairly cheap and they have a good bottled beer selection. Trivia night was rockin while we were there too. Lots of HUGE tvs for games which is always a plus. My favorite part? THELEGITFIREPLACE!!! I mean come on how many bars do you know that have a legit wood fireplace you can cozy up next to?

The Colony is fun and comfortable. I love that they have a real fire place and popcorn machine. I haven’t been there for live music yet, but I will definitely come back for it. We came at about 7 on a Friday and it was really relaxed and they were playing some awesome funk music(fab choice, bartenders!). The fire was roaring which was wonderful on a cold night. Can’t wait to come back!

What can you say that hasn’t already been said about this place? Its my favorite bar in town. The staff is great. The regulars are a diverse and fantastic group. They have clean bathrooms. Popcorn is available most times. And it’s stumbling distance to several fast food places and Village Inn for late night eats. Plus the music is almost always wonderful.

Some of the best music in Tulsa is happening right here at The Colony. It’s a chill pub-style spot for some live music, cheap drinks and friendly bar-goers. One of the best music nights in Tulsa is Paul Benjaman’s Sunday Nite Thing, which happens on Sundays from around 10pm until the bar lights come up. Paul has a killer rotation of musical guests each week, and some of them end up being touring musicians from out of town passing through. Definitely a great way to spend an evening. There’s a pool table in the back, and free popcorn in the front. When there isn’t live music, they have a large projection screen with sports(or Discovery Channel’s How It’s Made… surprise, surprise) on. There’s a trivia night Tuesdays and a Singer/Songwriter Night on Mondays. It’s not sparkling clean, but they keep it dark inside so my inner OCD weirdo can sit a little easier.

The Colony is a great place to enjoy live music. My favourite part is the fireplace. This makes for a very inviting place to cozy up, sit by the fire and listen to the nights musician while enjoying an inexpensive beer. :)

Decently priced drinks, great music and friendly crowds make this a great place to go any day of the week. There is usually a live band playing and they even bring out of town bands in. I’ve heard some amazing local and out of state bands here and come whenever I want live music. I’d recommend it for people to come with one or a bunch of friends looking for a relaxed atmosphere an live tunes. There’s a spacious patio and decently sized main area and they even have a pool table in the side room. It recently changed from smoking to non-smoking inside with smoking allowed on the patio = good change.

Ahhh, the colony… You smell of old style, hipsters, and damp smoke. The colony has live music, cheap beer, a fireplace, and a pool table. On top of all that, the bartenders were beyond friendly to my husband and I on our first time in. The jukebox is jammin some sweet tunes while we watch baseball on the flatscreen and listen to tonight’s band warm up and do sound checks. The only thing that could make this place better is if that popcorn machine next to the jukebox were in full operation tonight.

Great live music. The drinks prices are real reasonable.

The fireplace is awesome in the winter and the outdoor seating is tops in the summer. This little dive bar has it all, plus plenty of facial hair to boot. Don’t go there, though– I like it when it’s quiet.

If you’re looking for a hipster vibe, this is as close to it you’ll find in Tulsa. Really, it’s one of the best indie dives you’ll find anywhere. Albeit smoke filled, the music is gnarly and the beer is cheap. Cheers to 8 beers for $ 8.

I am torn when it comes to The Colony. The smoke is thick, but they have great local music. And they have 7 for $ 7. And as a bonus there is a diner for post-partying breakfast conveniently located across the parking lot. Though generally when I leave I want to shower, not eat pancakes. Still, if you don’t mind the smoke and are looking for a cool place to down a few beers and hear great bands play live, original music for a low cover or often for free The Colony is worth checking out.

So when in Rome… or rather when in Tulsa do smoke cigarettes inside. That’s right… you’re gonna smell any way so do it. Okay The Colony is my favorite dive when I am visiting Tulsa over holidays. It’s a British themed pub which makes it tops in my book. I dig the smoking thing, but it does make you sick(If you’re asthmatic this is not a safe place for you.) There’s something really rad about snapping a pic with friends and noticing you are in what actually resembles London fog. Oh yeah… they have this deal where you get like twelve beers on a tray. Shall we sport the Union Jack in Oklahoma? I believe we should.
