Worst dentist experience ever! The staff is less than enthusiastic about their existence– front desk employees did not even look me in the eye or hardly greet me upon arrival. During my cleaning– which was poorly done I shared with the tech how much I love a good cleaning and she hardly said a word not even a grunt. When Dr. Berklacy finally arrived to my chair he informed there was nothing wrong even though I pointed out two areas of concern in the mirror myself. He said«we will see you in six months looks good to me!» So what did I do!!! I returned in two months in pain to find out that I indeed needed a filling. He drilled around on my tooth forcefully– I’ve never been handled like this in the chair ever. I even told him kindly he was hurting me and he apologized apathetically and continued to drill– I was in tears by the end of this– it was horrible! I have a high pain tolerance and have had braces and two root canals before this experience but this by far was the worst dental trauma. I left the office without any pain meds or instructions as to how this was all going to turn out. The next day I awoke in more pain than I went in with and so I called Dr. Berklacy’s office to request help feeling as if there was an infection that was missed and perhaps I could get an antibiotic. Granted I was emotional, not angry– just really in a lot of pain. He was unwilling to prescribe me anything– saying«I don’t just hand out pain medication– I’m not a pharmacist!» I responded saying«Yes, I am in pain but there is a reason I am pain and you definitely missed something here and you really need to fix it.» He said he would get me back in the chair that day and have a look– turns out I needed a root canal:(!! I was so angry I felt I was being asked to shell out more money than what was needed. In the end it all came down to money.

I grew up going to Dr. Berklacy. Good guy, good dentist, good ol’ boy.
