In a digital world where everyone believes they are a photographer, who do you trust to photograph the most important day of your life? Don’t take any chances and hire a true professional like Sean Capshaw at Resolusean Photography.
Sean was able to perfectly capture the essence and beauty of our wedding. The last thing I wanted going into my big day, was to question that our photographs would be any less than perfect. I knew based on our engagement session and the other work I had seen by Sean that I had absolutely nothing to worry about.
Sean is a destination photographer in high demand and we were so lucky to have him fly out to San Diego for our wedding. My wife and I had decided on a circus themed wedding with lots of action. Sean was somehow able to finesse every situation and perfectly capture every tear, smile, kiss, dance and trapeze move. He even got our one-​year-​old ring bearer to smile!
As a finance and bride (in a same-​sex marriage), I have to say that I couldn’t be happier with Sean and the photographs we received from both our engagement session and our wedding. I highly recommend him to anyone.

I hired Sean for my wedding and he threw in free baby pictures bc he couldn’t take photos at the wedding. You get a discount for all future photo shoots if you hire him for your wedding. You can’t get a better price for the quality. I was amazed by our photo album which was made in Italy and was very good material. I’m very happy with our photos.

I was introduced to Sean’s work a decade ago when he photographed my brother’s wedding. He did a fine job. About two years ago he took some killer cute photos of my nephew. When I needed a headshot done, I knew who to turn to.
Today I enjoyed a session with Sean for 15 minutes. For a very very reasonable rate, he worked some magic. After taking approximately 40 shots, he sat down with me in his studio and reviewed the results. In no time, I was able to decide on a shot. By the time I got home, the edited version of the shot was done (it is my Unilocal profile pic). Everyone is already commenting on it online and saying lovely things.
Sean’s studio is quiet, comfortable, and centrally located. Sean’s manner is professional, kind, and engaging. Being a photographer myself, I am used to being on the other side of the camera, but Sean made me feel as if were natural for me to be the subject rather than the shooter.
I recommend him wholeheartedly! Great work, Sean!

Sean from Resolusean was incredible during the preparation, execution and follow up for my wedding! He was very professional throughout the process and made sure I got exactly what I wanted out of my photos. My husband (who is a little camera shy) came out of his shell during the photo shoots because of Sean’s relaxed and fun style. He has a great sense of humor and got us laughing — which turned out to be the best pictures of all.
His photographs are simply stunning. He is a true artists and it is reflected in everything he does — from the engagement photos to the wedding album. If you are able to book Sean I highly recommend it. I shopped around quite a bit but ultimately there was no comparison. I would use him again in an instant!

Sean is the best photographer you can ask for. We initially hired him for our wedding in 2010, and the pictures were stunning, and we were blown away by his kindness before, during and after the wedding. He captured some beautiful moments when we didn’t even realize he was there, memorialized details of the wedding that we didn’t have time to notice on the day, and got some great shots of the fun at the reception. We used him again for maternity shots when I was seven months pregnant, and again just a few days after our daughter was born (even though we live an hour away from the studio — worth it!). He’s great at making us feel comfortable and calm, and even when I am a crazy bride running late on her wedding day or a new mom with a crying baby, he worked his magic and made us all look beautiful. The video montage of our baby shots made me cry. He is our photographer for life.

If I could give Sean at Resolusean more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! I have used his services two times for professional head shots to post on my website for my business and he has delivered above and beyond both times. I feel comfortable from start to finish (getting pictures taken can sometimes feel awkward if you’re not a model) and the results are amazing. He has a professional but fun attitude and you can tell he knows exactly what he is doing and doesn’t have to guess. If I get married or have a baby, he will be the one I call to capture those special moments. I just can’t say enough good things about him… you will just have to experience it for yourself!

Sean was my wedding photographer and I highly recommend him! Not only are my photos amazing, he is also so easy to work with and made me and my husband both feel so comfortable. Sean did an engagement shoot for us (which we thought we didn’t really need) but it was so great to get to know him and for him to see how we are in front of the camera and with each other. He has an eye for wonderful shots and he is the «master of light». Somehow he captures light and the photos all end up absolutely gorgeous! The day of our wedding was a busy day but Sean and his assistant were everywhere and got hundreds of perfect shots. I couldn’t believe how many we loved and how easy he made the day. Sean was able to professionally manage all our family photos and deal with some big personalities that day. I was so impressed!
We found Sean because he did a bunch of work with a local charity for which we volunteer and then he shot my best friend’s wedding. Just recently, he did a photo shoot in his studio when our baby was a few weeks old. Sean captured our son’s personality and was so patient with us and the baby. Again, the photos turned out so perfectly.
Resolusean prices are reasonable and I can honestly say Sean is worth every penny. I LOVE looking back at my wedding photos and the few I have hanging in my house and office are so beautiful.

Sean from Resolusean Photography is fantastic — we had become acquainted with Sean when he photographed our wedding in 2010, please read my review about our experience if you’d like to know more about his wedding expertise. When our daughter was born in 2012, we knew we needed to have him photograph our new family! Sean was able to come shoot us in San Francisco, where we live, and everything turned out great as usual. We took him on a little hike in Land’s end and he carried all his gear, which included lights, cameras, and sometime our bags when we had to move to another location, without any complaint. He took amazing shots which highlighted his subjects and their surroundings beautifully. He is so personable and at ease that it set us at ease as well, and because of this, he was able to capture some intimate family moments that we will forever cherish. He is a talented and professional photographer with a great personality to match and will capture your day, whatever it happens to be, with a keen and creative eye. Hire him before he gets all booked up ;)

Sean was fantastic, truly one of the highlights of the wedding. he had a lot of great tips that were unrelated to photography (e.g., you don’t want to drive the day of the wedding, tips on how to make my sister’s bridesmaids dress stay up, etc.) that were clearly a mark of how many weddings he’s been to. The prices are EXTREMELY reasonable, esp for the quality of the photos he has, and he clearly knows what he’s doing (I’d recommend at least talking to him because he may be able to customize around your budget). He was pretty much completely out of the way during the wedding, I didn’t even notice him that much, but we ended up having a lot of fantastic photographs. I was looking for something really stylized like record album cover-​y, and he definitely got a few pictures that were like that. He definitely has the skills as far as that is concerned
I met him in person and I can see that some ppl might find him a bit brusque as that’s his style, but I didn’t mind personally. He has a fantastic studio as well that was really close to my brother’s house! which was convenient. I found him kind actually as he gave me ride to the wedding when it seemed kind of confusing.
I’ll add that I met with a LOT of photographers, since I appreciate good photography, and Sean was the best for the price range I was looking for. Most other photographers I met with in the same range or even a bit lower or higher were maybe a tad above amateur photographers I think in terms of the type of photography they showed me (though there were some that I totally loved because they were just so nice! and cool! in terms of personality and seemed a bit warmer than sean). For example, my sister could probably shoot that type of photography fairly easily, it didn’t seem like those were that much better than many friends of mine with DSLRs. However, just rating based on quality of photography, Sean is definitely talented. He has some photos that quality wise you can tell look professional and are beautiful, which I had an issue with with some of the other photographers in the same range, and Sean was really the only one in the range that I could see that quality shine through definitively in each of his albums.
I docked one star only because I wished we had more of the movie star photos! Granted we didn’t have a ton of time, but I wish we had some non standard family photos or something that we could have done, since there were probably too many of those, which i thought I had voiced in a previous conversation that I was not as interested in those. A few family photos would have probably sufficed, though I guess now we have like endless permutations of family photos which my parents probably appreciate. Also I was a bit surprised when the photos were published the week after my friday wedding. It was appreciated I had the photos so soon, but it kind of made me wonder if he worked on them that long… maybe he’s just really efficient though? I mean, I guess it’s better than the opposite.

Sean photographed our wedding less than 2 weeks ago and we’ve already received ALL of our amazing photos back. Being in my late 20s I’ve been involved in my fair share of weddings over the past few years and I know that a 10 day turn around is absolutely unheard of.
Sean shot both our engagement photos and wedding photos and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results. He was able to capture our personalities perfectly in the engagement photos and steered away from overly cheesy poses at our request. He even suggested a unique site when we were having trouble thinking of the perfect location and the junk yard photo shoot produced some awesome photos!
When it came time for the wedding, Sean reviewed timelines with me the week prior and was always just an email away (he usually responded within the hour). To my surprise he even showed up for the rehearsal to acquaint himself with the space and snapped a few photos of us while he was at it. On the big day he arrived early and stayed late. He was great at directing people with authority while not being overbearing, he captured all of the shots I had hoped for, and as other Unilocalers have noted, he was able to move around the reception almost unnoticed, but was able to get tons of candid shots of our guests.
Overall we are 110% pleased with Sean’s work and will recommend him to anyone looking for a photographer. And he’ll definitely be stuck working with us again when the time comes for family photos:) Thanks Sean!!!

Back from our honeymoon and couldn’t wait to write a review for Sean and Resolusean! Professional, fun, reasonably priced and extremely talented are all words to describe him. We were looking for a photo journalistic style, and he was so creative and gave us exactly that. And his pricing can’t be beat for that style.
Three of my favorite things about Resolusean:
First, there is an investment tab on his website where one can pick the packages you would like and see the pricing right there, so you know right away if his pricing is in your budget (and again, it’s the most reasonable I’ve found for photo journalistic style).
Secondly, in my mom’s words «if he can make me (meaning her) look good, that will be the true test. I never take good pictures». He did! She looked great and even she found a few pictures she liked! He does fantastic work, puts everyone at ease, and the results are beautiful!
Finally, my wedding was just over 2 weeks ago and I already have over 800 photos taken by Sean in my possession! Looking through them all, he didn’t miss a single detail!
I would recommend Sean and Resolusean 100%!!!

Sean did a great job as our wedding photographer. We researched multiple photographers and selected Sean because his prices are reasonable and his portfolio exhibits a wide range of both glamour shots and tender candids.
When we first met Sean at his studio, he made a clear, structured effort to explain his services to us. It was evident to us that he is an experienced professional. After we hired him, he promptly answered all our emails over the course of 6 months, and helped review our timeline with us too.
On our wedding day, Sean and his assistant showed up on time and did a good job of directing all our guests for photos. Afterward, we received our photos very quickly and are very happy with them.
My impression is that Sean works very hard at his job. We are happy that we chose him as our photographer and would recommend him to others.

He is technically a guru with his camera and computer and the knowledge he possesses is constantly tapped into by his fellow peers in the event and wedding industry.

I was referred to Sean from a friend for our wedding. It was hands down the best decision I made. He has an eye that is amazing. He is fast and efficient which is amazing when you see the pictures and see how he views the world! I loved seeing the little video he made as a tease… It still makes my mom tear up!
I smile everytime i look at the pictures and am able to remember the whole day because of the pictures that were taken. I had a friend say that she felt like she was there because of how he took such amazing shots.
I also loved that he captured the mood of the wedding and the personality of the venue.
I would recommend him gladly. I feel like he is the best thing anyone can do for themselves.

I chose Resolusean both for wedding photography and planning/​coordination, based on Unilocal reviews, and now I can see why they were all 5 stars!
I must concur with the other Unilocalers that Sean was AWESOME to work with — very responsive, great attention to detail, and a great sense of humor, which actually really helps out the day-​of when everything is chaotic. He recommended/​took photos that I didn’t at the time think were necessary (being a bride in my 30’s without a large wedding party), but now I am glad he did, helping round out the story of the special day. He posted pictures much earlier than I ever would’ve thought, showing his passion for his work and customer service. He was also able to work within our budget, offering a package if we worked with their preferred vendor list.
We used Kate’s help for day-​of wedding coordinator, and everything worked out great! At first, I was a little worried b/​c i had less communication with her until the day before the wedding, but again the event logistics worked out flawlessly… It felt SO nice to not worry about anything the day-​of, as she worked with all the vendor confirmation/​coordination and set up. Note to Type A, organized brides like myself: I at first didn’t think I ‘needed’ a coordinator, but now I see the complete value. Get at least a day-​of coordinator, if not a full planner, so you can actually enjoy yourself on your big day!
Kate is also just in general a super sweet person, and a pleasure to work with… highly recommend both of them.

Sean did an awesome maternity shoot for me and my husband when I was 7 months pregnant. He put together a slide show with music that was so touching, everyone who watched it got tears in their eyes! My parents were practically bawling!
He has also done several photo shoots for my husband’s woodworking business. Every photo is glossy brochure quality.
To say we are happy with Sean’s work is an understatement, and as long as he’s in business we won’t hire any other photographer.

It took my wife and I over ten years to have our first child, so we were not about to let just anyone take our first family pictures.
Sean helped bring out our family personality and provided us with lasting memories of that day. He graciously awaited as we changed outfits between shoots and even a breast feeding timeout. Taking photos with a newborn can create some challenges, but we never felt rushed and the photos came out phenomenal since we were all so fresh, happy and excited to be there.
We now have so many greats pictures to displayed throughout our house and thru email, Facebook, etc. to share with friends and family as well. Grandma even got an enlarged framed photo for her birthday and she absolutely loved it.

Always amazing! Sean has been the photographer for our anniversary, wedding, first anniversary, second anniversary, and, more recently, the baptism of our first born. Saying that his photos are amazing do not do them justice — he captures the moment and the emotions so well that you are drawn into every frame. Working with Resolusean Photography 1×1 is full of fun and laughter, while, at events, Sean is an expert at capturing the moment without being obvious or in anyone’s way. Sean photographed our wedding 2 years ago, and I’ve never looked better in pictures! We (actually, Sean) have received SO many compliments on the pictures taken, and we are forever grateful for his part of our special day.
He is an amazing person to work with and meet, and I’ve heard the same about Kate (we weren’t lucky enough to work with both — next time!) One of the huge perks, and one of his many talents: none of the guests even noticed he was there, yet we have pictures of everyone and everything that happened! One of the perks of having your own business is getting to know and love the other businesses with whom you work. Resolusean is one such company … we recommend their photography services on a regular basis when a client requests a true professional for their special event.
Sean (the «sean» in Resolusean … clever name, dontcha think?) goes above and beyond the call of duty at every event on which we’ve worked together. As a perfect example, our company catered the wedding that Allison B. refers to in her review below. As she so eloquently expresses, Sean and his crew definitely made the best of a difficult situation. His ease with the bride and groom saved the entire affair on this sweltering hot day … it was a wedding to remember.
Sean has also taken some beautiful food shots for us in the past, and we’re still hoping to do some official company photography with him in 2009. We hope to be able to recommend him to our clients dozens of times again this year!

I went to a recent wedding where my friend had Sean and his crew do the photography. Most of the photographers looked like they moonlighted as bouncers but they were all funny and made you happy to smile for their cameras. They also posed guests and asked a couple to «give a kiss on the cheek» or two kids to «look mad at each other». They all turned out so unique, artsy and beautiful. I was nervous as some shots of me shoving my face with cupcake were snapped but they didn’t make the online photo album which was available a few days later. Phew!
Sidenote: Unforch, the bride at the wedding got heat stroke and ended up in a tub of cold water for 95% of the wedding. To remedy the brideless photos, my friend had Sean take photos of them while she was in the tub (covered up of course!) They were by far the most stunning and memorable wedding photos I have ever seen. So creative and fun. The price is right too. I highly recommend using their services for your wedding or event.
