Welcome to The Loony Bin, Tulsa’s only live standup comedy club! Each week, every Wednesday through Saturday night, we bring you the funniest comedians from across the nation. Show times are at 8:00 PM on Wednesday through Saturday nights, with additional late shows on Friday and Saturday nights at 10:30 PM. Whether it’s a girls night out, a bachelor party or a couple’s date night, The Loony Bin makes any occasion extra special! Our venue features 250 seats with table service, full menu and full bar availability with daily drink specials. Check out our website for updated calendar and club info, then give us a call to make advance reservations for the best ticket prices. The Loony Bin brings in new comics every week and it’s always a great time, so bring your friends and come see what everyone in Tulsa is talking about!

History

Established in 2007.

The first Loony Bin location opened in Little Rock over 20 years ago. Since then, locations have opened in Wichita and Oklahoma City, as well as Tulsa in 2007. We are proud to be a part of these great communities and want to thank you, our loyal guests, for your continued support of our local comedy clubs. From everyone here at The Loony Bin, we invite residents and visitors alike to stop by for a night of laughter and a guaranteed good time!

Meh. It’s okay for seeing road comics and the occasional name I’ve heard of but I don’t like they have a purchase minimum. You have to pay to get in and then they force you to buy food and drink!!! I’ll go to the Comedy Parlor downtown instead which doesn’t force you to buy anything other than the ticket!

Came here last night for the 2 buck chuckle — Thursday nights tickets are $ 2 if you reserve them in advance!
When you first walk into the comedy parlor, there’s a bar/​lounge-​ish area you can sit in and chill or pre-​drink in until the rest of your group gets there — they won’t seat you otherwise. Once you’re ready to head in, you line up and someone will escort you to a table. Once you’re at your table, you can order more drinks or food. Before the show, they play «funny» (or supposed to be funny) clips from the internet/​SNL/​Youtube on a screen in front of the stage. Then, a local comedian/​the emcee will do his act, then an opener, then the headliner.
There IS a drink minimum — I think 1 drink/​person. Cost isn’t that bad (under $ 10 for a large and strongly made drink…). I got the John Belushi, which was bleh — not enough pineapple and mango flavor. Non-​alcoholic drinks were under $ 3 (pop, hot chocolate, bottled water, etc). Yes, service is a tad slow (there were only 2 servers working the floor when I went), but ours was really nice and continually checked up on us throughout the night.
How much you actually laugh will depend on: the comedians you have that night and how fun (or lame) the other audience members are. Just go with people you like and you’ll have a good time.

Comedians were meh the night we came. The service was slow and very inconsistent. The chairs are terrible, was ready to get up after 5 minutes because I was so uncomfortable.
Not to mention that it seemed filthy when we went.

I didn’t know what to expect when I first came here, but I was pleasantly surprised with the Loony Bin! I don’t usually expect fun late night activities to be out South, but this was an exception! We always come on Thursdays since tickets are only $ 2 if you call and reserve your group ahead of time (you can pay for your tickets separately when you arrive). You enter through a nice lobby where you can pick up your tickets and get a drink. Then you have to have your entire party together so they can seat you in the theatre space. There are menus available there and you can start a tab for drinks with your server. Our servers have always been very attentive. I have to say that I was surprised with the quality of comedians that come in. I have never been to a bad show! This place is bringing in great talent to Tulsa, so come and check it out!

My boyfriend and I went on a Saturday night and had a great time! The comedians were super funny. Service was ok. It’s not that it was bad but just ok. Drinks were good. We will go back!

2 stars because the comedians are always funny. The wait staff should be ashamed they are so terrible I wish I could give — 1 star. My wife and I frequent at least once a month. Thus last time we ordered drinks, a simple bucket of beer, and that was the last we saw of the waitress. Someone else brought the beer 20 minutes layer and another half hour we ordered fries. I’d pay extra to bring my own in. NO TIPS FOR YOU!

The comedians were hilarious. The food was alright. They smaked on an automatic 20% tip which was kind of lame. The food isn’t settling well now that I think about it. Only going here for the comedy from now on.

Went tonight for their open mic and their regular show after. FUNNY. Laughed til I cried. We just moved here from Vegas and the open mic’rs here seem WAY better. They actually write jokes here. Very well run show. Super professional. Worth your money, definitely.

I did a guest spot here last night and was very impressed with the venue! Friendly, professional staff, very funny line up (Christine Stedman and Brad Tassell) and the room is set up the way I like it — tables right up to the stage for an intimate feel. As a New York comic, I wasn’t sure what to expect … But I had a great time and highly recommend this club to anyone looking for a fun night out.

Did you know, that in the year 2014, racist, sexist, homophobic jokes are still considered hilarious? Also, Bill Clinton is still a timely topic to poke fun at? That jokes about how your wife won’t have sex with you are hysterical? That stories about the «kids these days,» warning labels, safety gear, and Michael McDonald are awesome?
No?
This is not the place for you then. Tired, tired, tired jokes. Maybe we caught a bad one, but on a Saturday night? Should’ve been the A-​game. I won’t go back. The drinks are fine.

Visiting the area for a wedding, we hit up this place for some laughs.
The décor is so tacky and cheap, I wasn’t sure if that was an attempt at humor on its own? Slanting a poster? You so funny. It was decorated like your mom would think a comedy club should be decorated — a bit ‘on the nose’ as they say. But whatever, who cares about that junk.
The room was a large space. The table service was speedy and friendly.
The comics were… well, they had their moments. Both comics felt like they went on a bit too long. I’d recommend a third to break up the set a bit more. The host seemed cool — funny enough.
For an evening out, it wasn’t too shabby. Don’t let the name of the place or it being in a minimall scare you away.

Eh.
It’s really the only option we have, but that doesn’t make it great. The lobby bar is fairly nice. The waitresses don’t give great service after that initial 1-​drink minimum round before the show starts.
The comedians are occasionally funny, but it always goes like this: Some lame «crowd-​warmer» gets up there and does a terrible job. Then the opening act is hilarious for like 10 minutes. Then the headliner gets up there and is just mediocre. Blah.
Like I said, the service is pretty awful, and they act like they’re doing you a favor by seating you. The last time we went, they FINALLY would split our check onto different credit cards (when we’ve gone before, they had some stupid rule about only 1 credit card per group, it was ridiculous. Who uses cash these days?! I hope they have given that stupidity up for good.) I only give it two stars because their nachos are really good. Beware, the frozen drinks contain no alcohol to speak of.

I’m trying not to be biased, but I’m from Chicago which has one of the best stand-​up scenes around. But this place really isn’t that nice… I went with my bf’s family for a night out. Location — it’s in a strip mall! Apparently it’s not in a bad part of town, but late at night, the strip mall’s not exactly where you want to be at night. I think there’s a dollar movie theater right next door.
There’s a bar area right when you walk in to grab a drink while waiting for the doors to open. Seating is first come serve, and make sure you have everyone in your party with you, they won’t seat you otherwise and they’re kind of d*cks about it too. The setup inside is really poorly done, it’s just crappy tables and chairs facing the smal lstage. But while waiting, they have a screen up and a projector playing funny you-​tube video type clips — which is fine — but it was such poor quality, it was laughable that they’d even show you that on such crappy electronics. Drinks are pretty cheap though.
The 2 people we saw were actually kind of funny, but I have to say they were funny «for Tulsa.» They made so many ethnic jokes, it got kind of old after awhile. Oh well. Next time we are looking for something to do, this place is on the tail end of the list. It’s not the club itself, but really, think about what comics go to Tulsa for work…
