What brings metaphorical sunshine to a dreary and cold Saturday morning? You guessed it… Joy! Although we trekked out a little later in the morning(10AM-ish) there was still plenty of doughnuts to choose from even though the bear claws(my personal favorite) were long gone. Inside there is cute patio-like seating but best of all, there is a drive-through. For $ 3.52 I got FOUR doughnuts(insert more sunshine here.) My favorite was the glazed cake doughnut. Not to doughy… but enough crisp on the edges to make me want 164 more that morning.

Unilocal to the rescue to find a donut place I have never been when a craving hits! This place is in a nondescript strip mall type building where you wonder if you are heading into a dive or not. Don’t get me wrong, some dives have the best food but it is always a risk. I was pleasantly surprised to find this place clean and inviting for a what it is, a small donut shop. There are several booths and tables to sit in if you like; I just popped in to get a few to try at home. I did notice a convenient drive thru option. The couple running the place were friendly, greeting with a smile. I got chocolate glazed, cherry cake, and lemon Bismarck donuts. I would give 3 stars for the donuts as they were hit and miss. The cherry cake donut was way too sweet for my liking. The chocolate glazed was just okay. I did enjoy the lemon filled donut though and it makes me think their glazed donuts are probably really good. I would try this place again to sample other donuts. 4 stars for overall experience and donuts are very subjective, so give them a try!

Buddy brought these to work the other day and they blow Krispy Kreme out of the water! They’re nice and fluffy and the glazed and chocolate flavors weren’t too sweet! I will definitely be eating them again soon!

YUM!!! The donuts here are inexpensive, good size, and delicious! They have a drive thru, which is great. They have a photo menu along the side of the building, which doesn’t help very much when you’re ordering at the window but it’s nice to see them while you wait in line. The photo menu doesn’t have names for each item, but they carry pretty basic donuts. The ‘pinecone’ is my go to donut. The previous owners(RIP Doughnut Shop) had pinecones only on certain days, and they seriously looked like a pinecone. The new owners have them every day and they’re a slightly different shape, but the flavors are still the same. It’s like a massive glazed twist donut with cinnamon swirled throughout. That description doesn’t even do it justice — trust me, it’s delicious! My coworker orders the chocolate cake donut when she goes there and she loves it. I have only had the pinecone and the chocolate long john — I need to broaden my horizons here but it’s hard to switch when I know what I like. I need to go inside one day, maybe seeing different donuts will help me try something new. Here’s a note on payment: there is a $ 5 minimum charge needed to use a debit card. Their donuts are inexpensive, so getting to $ 5 is difficult unless you order a bunch. Bring cash unless you plan on ordering several.

This place was previously known as «The Doughnut Shop», but it has changed to «Joy Donut». We loved the donuts here before it changed names and owners, and we STILL love the donuts at this place! Nothing has changed as far as taste and quality go. The only difference that I have noticed is an expanded menu and plenty of pictures in the drive through to help you visualize that delicious donut before you have it in your hands. I highly recommend the«pine cone» donut. It’s huge, inexpensive and packed with scrumptious sweet glazed flavor. I only order this donut, because it fills me up and I love it so much, I can’t bring my self to order anything else! Go here! you will be happy you did.
