I should start rating my reviews just off how much I like the place because I would give it 5 stars! But for now I’m just reviewing the coffee drinks. The cap was good but I expected better because it is a Portuguese joint, giving that the Europeans don’t mess around with their espresso. The espresso defiantly needs some work though, but if this is how the customers like it then who the hell am I? The baked treats are probably the best I’ve ever had. What a treat for Tulare. I love the diversity in America today. It may not be the same as visiting abroad but at least you can get a little taste of everything.

I love this Bakery/Café. You definitely feel at home when you come in. Bread is fresh and tasty, and the beautiful Barista makes my espresso perfectly every time. My favorite thing to order is their sweet bread with Portuguese cheese and butter. Great family business, with great hospitality and home-made treats. A rare GEM.

I noticed that there was more than one sign inside this Portuguese bakery that blatantly stated«we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone». Geez… luckily I passed. There was bread everywhere! Stacks of rolls sold in plastic bags, loaves in baskets, buns sold individually… so of course, I had to try one. They were plain, but refreshingly plain. Slightly sweet, yet simple. I also tried a cinnamon sugar molasses conconction that looked like a cross between a cupcake and muffin. Regardless of what you’d call it, the molasses added a nice, cohesive texture to the batter, and it was delicious and not overly sweet. This little spot opens at 5am most days of the week. I’ll be back… if they oblige to serving me.

Well being Portuguese, this place is great to get a variety of Portuguese specialties. They have breads, pastries, cheese, and even expresso coffee on hand if you just need a fix. The bread rolls are baked fresh daily. Most of the other Portuguese items are Imported directly from Portugal.
